We recently built this home in 2008 after falling in love with the beauty of Lake Hartwell. The floor plan is very open with a huge vaulted family room. Master bedroom is located on the main floor, two large secondary bedrooms and a full bath are located on the second level and two additional bedrooms and a full bath are located on the terrace level.
The main floor has heart pine floors through out with a large family room and a wall of windows looking out on to the huge covered deck. The kitchen is very roomy with granite counters and breakfast bar. Dining room table easily seats 8 people. French doors lead from the dining room to a cozy screened in porch which is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. The back of the house has a very large deck much of which is covered with a vaulted roof.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, walk in closet, tiled shower, and french doors with deck access. The two secondary bedrooms located upstairs each have queen size beds. A full size bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and has a shower tub combo. The basement has one bedroom that has 2 sets of bunk beds and a second bedroom with a queen size fouton couch.
To access the lake, just follow the very gently sloping path down to the water. Renters will have access to one of the two covered boat slips for watercraft they bring up. The dock has a large 28x12 composite deck that is partially covered for those who want to get out of the sun but enjoy the lake. The dock is wired for electricity for those who need access to charge batteries, etc. The dock is located on a point lot with plenty of privacy from surrounding docks. Dock remained wet throughout the drought of 2007-2008 so no concerns should be made about having boat access.
Boat ramp access is located approx 3 miles away at the Poplar Springs boat ramp. Location on Lake Hartwell is at EC3 which is near T73
For the occasional rainy day at the lake, the basement has a ping pong table, PS2 game console, TV and DVD player.
NOTE: House phone is provided with VOIP access but cell phones get fairly good signals!! YOU MUST BE 25 years of age or older to rent our home. There is absolutely no smoking in our home!!!

We had a lot of extended family in and out over the week we were there, it was fabulous and accommodating. The children could sleep in the lowest level and it was quiet upstairs! Our dog loved the area and the woods. The lake level is up right now and swimming was great. We would definitely go back again. my mother-in-law uses a walker, so the bedroom on the main level was perfect for her.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We were happy with the house from the moment we walked in. Everything was clean, the kitchen well stocked and roomy. The dock and lake were a great source of entertainment. We brought a canoe, did some fishing and had a bonfire. There are lots of parks for hiking and picnics within short drives, as well as supermarket and Walmart not too far. The kids loved the ping pong table and video games. Our entire family was comfortable and happy. We will definitely rent this house again!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family recently spent a week at this wonderful, almost new, lake home. We personally built and owned a vacation home on Hartwell many years ago so when it comes to renting, we are quite selective. This home was an excellent choice. It met all of the criteria we look for when staying on the water: CLEAN, open floor plan large enough for our extended family with very comfortable beds Large, fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher and roomy refrigerator (we cook alot) Cable TV and internet (my husband always works) Easy walk / lake access / lots of parking – plenty of water at the dock despite this season’s low levels Extra boat slip for our boat on a well-maintained dock (the trash can on the dock is genius) Cozy screened porch plus large covered deck (relaxed out here every night) Really, the description is spot on as well as the photos. We will definitely be back! PS – The owner, Tim, was quick to respond and very accommodating!! :-)Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We had a great time during the week we stayed at the home. Tim, the owner, is very responsive to any questions or concerns and really tries to make his guests as comfortable as possible. The home was very clean and new. Everything was top notch and we could tell that it was someone's home and not just a rental house. The layout of the house is great for everyone to be together. We also brought our boat and the boat dock is very nice. Plenty of room for hanging out with family and friends and it has power outlets to plug in a battery charger or vacuum if you need it. The home and dock are located in good spot on Lake Hartwell, just off the main channel, and the water at the dock was plenty deep even though the water level on the lake was over 10 feet low. Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation and would stay here again if we come back to Lake Hartwell. My family and friends spent 4 days at this beautiful home - clean, spacious and very well furnished. Everything was perfect. The kids had a great time playing ping-pong and the variety of board games. We went fishing at the lake, which is just steps away. We will definetly consider this home in the future. Your house is beautiful! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the screened in porch and large deck. It was a little cool on the dock but a nice change from the heat. The only negative was our time there was too short.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! We had a fantastic family reunion with 4 different families, ranging in age from 8 to 85! Your beautiful home was well maintained and well stocked for our use. We absolutely loved the dock! We had beautiful weather and went swimming and fishing all weekend. It was nice that the walk to the lake was a gentle slope. The teenagers enjoyed the games downstairs while the adults relazed on the deck.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Our extended family of 10, ages 7 to 85, had a marvelous weekend together at this lovely home. It has a nice great room with a big dining table and a fully-equipped kitchen for cooking. The master BR and 2 upstairs BRs were very comfortable and downstairs there's a bunk room for the kids. We did encounter a few problems however as one BR downstairs was completely EMPTY of furniture and we were forced to use a blow-up mattress for the teens to sleep on plus there was only one chair and a most uncomfortable futon in the family room. The screened porch was very dirty and the furniture was covered in dust and pollen. We did really enjoy the covered deck though as it was perfect for relaxing and the large shaded dock was outstanding for swimming and boating. As a family, we had a wonderful time together and if the owner works the downstairs problems, we would certainly go back.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Why the Owner Chose Martin:
Both my wife and I grew up spending numerous weekends at the lake water skiing, swimming, fishing, and just relaxing away from the busy city life. Now that we are married with children, we decided that we wanted to share those experiences with our children.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Shortly after building our home we found out what a perfect place this is to ski and fish. We also enjoy coming down to the dock first thing in the morning to enjoy a coffee and an occasional sighting of our bald eagle 'Elvis'.
