  My friends and I had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at this fantastic house on Lake Burton. The house is large, accommodating our group of five easily, with all the amenities one would need. We took advantage of the large deck facing the lake to grill out each night, as well as the large living room(s) to watch college football. As well as the house, we enjoyed hanging out at the boathouse/dock area, listening to music and socializing with neighbors. Two kayak's and a two-person paddle boat were included in the rental and we definitely utilized them. Our group decided not to rent a boat for the weekend, but having those proved to be all we needed. Finally, the views and scenery around the house of the lake and the mountains was truly beautiful. I would recommend this lake house to families or groups of friends looking for a relaxing and fun time on a great lake. The house will not disappoint!

• 50th Wedding Anniversary

  My family rented Mike's house for our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. We all had a wonderful time swimming, boating, tubing, and exploring the lake in Mike's kayaks and paddle boat. The house was perfect and fit all 20 of us! We loved the screened porch and deck. The kids roasted marshmellows for s'mores and we all relaxed around the fire in the evenings. Area attractions such as Mark of the Potter, Helen, and waterfall hikes were all within a 20-30 minute drive from the house. We had a great time and will return; hopefully next summer.

  We can't thank the owners enough for the use of their beautiful home. It was perfect for our getaway with the family. The description of the property matched perfectly. It was very clean and welcoming. The home had everything you need for a special trip. Sometimes homes are missing essentials, but not this one. It has everything and they even went beyond that. Kids loved the swings, nightly smores around the fire pit, canoeing on Dicks creek, kayaks, fishing pole, bikes, and maps. The adults loved the quiet and seclusion of the wooded lot set on a quiet cove. The house is located close to both Helen and Clayton for excursions. Close to Le Prades and Anchorage marina by boat. We also ventured to the Chatooga River Rafting only 20 miles away. I realize now after I wrote this it may limit the vacancy for our return. Please just leave us a week! We will definetly rent here again. Thanks

  Having traveled through the Pacific Northwest, Montana, and Colorado I was more than surprised at how beautiful Lake Burton and the surrounding areas were. The house is large, and on a private road where the kids are safe to mountain bike or walk. I realize these reviews are supposed to talk about the house, but as grand as the house is the lightning bugs at night, the small fish in the lake, and the occasional deer in the woods are too impressive not to mention Both Angel Falls Trail and the Minnehaha Trail are very close and quite beautiful. The owners are long time residents, and can answer pretty much any question one might have prior to arrival.

  The home is extremely comfortable and the owners have done a wonderful job of making people feel welcome. The personal greeting when we arrived was a special touch. Love the mexican restaurant (La Cabana) in Clayton. Mama G's is also quite good. It is also an easy day trip to visit the Biltmore which we really enjoyed. I would recommend that any family would really have a great time there!!!!

  Your lake house is the perfect place for our family to get away. Thank you for letting us rent your home. The layout was perfect for us, kids were busy playing Foosball and watching movies while the adults had peace and quite on the back deck over looking the lake and Dick's Creek. We really enjoyed the firepit and had a great marshmallow roast. The views from the boat house are spectacular. We really enjoyed our trips on the paddle boat down the creek. Hopefully we can bring/rent a boat on our next trip to Lake Burton. The location makes for a reasonable car ride to numerous waterfalls and hikes. We wish we could rent your place during all four seasons!
