  My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Magi Azul. The house is a dream for the open air, sea-loving couple that we are. Here you can go to sleep and wake up with the sight and sounds of the ocean waves right outside of your window! The view is breathtaking!! This home is built as close to the ocean as is legally allowed. My dream come true!! The Terrazzo suite is huge and offers grand views of the Caribbean. There is plenty of storage for your personal belongings and clothing. The bed is lovely with luxury linens and so comfortable. This main level Master is huge. The detail throughout the house is amazing. The Balinese style pool off of the living room is unbelievable and offered a private place for a refreshing dip anytime of the day or night. There's just something about walking into your home and seeing that pool there! Stan and Sherry thought of everything when they built this home! It is extremely clean and well maintained. The kitchen is wonderful and so fun with large upscale commercial appliances and cooking/preparation area. We had tons of fun shopping for fresh ingredients to make guacamole. My husband loves to cook so he prepared omelets, scrambled eggs, and magnificent Mexican coffee most days for breakfast! Make sure you visit the Mango Café at least once for breakfast...delicious!! We felt very secure knowing that Armin was just a phone call away if we needed anything. We had in-room massages one night with the symphony of the ocean as our playlist. Phenomenal. It is just a short drive to town(el centro), where you have your choice of a great variety of restaurants and outdoor cafes and shopping as well as the beach of course...which by the way, is in your backyard ;). (This beach is extremely private. We only saw a few local children walk by once and we were there a week). You can easily catch a cab right outside the front door. We had the time of our lives, rented a golf cart, (Mopeds next time cause they're faster lol!) enjoyed the sweet local people, did some snorkeling, and went swimming with the whale sharks. Our whale shark excursion was fabulous!!! We felt incredibly safe here at the house as well as anywhere we went on the Island. With all that the Island has to offer, we found ourselves saying, "we could just stay here at the house and be perfectly content!!" This home is perfect, we recommend it highly and cannot wait to come back. This is definitely our "go to" choice for a lovely vacation!!

  We spent a lovely week at Magi Azul and can't say enough good things about it. The owners were more than helpful in setting up our reservation - as well as transportation to the ferry both to and from the airport. The house is beautiful - the bedrooms are all large, the beds are comfortable, the pool is spectacular and the kitchen is amazing. The house staff keeps the place immaculate and they are friendly and happy to answer any questions you might have. The rooftop decks allow you views of the entire island - but you have to be very careful as railings are minimal (Having 3 small children with us we were extra careful!) It was wonderful watching the frigate birds and pelicans fly by us at eye level while we were up there. While I saw other reviewers complain about the pool temperature - we found it to be perfectly fine - especially during the heat of the day. You can hear traffic from the house - but between the pool fountains and the ocean waves the traffic just blends into the background and wasn't a concern. The beach out front is very pretty but rocky and the water is rough. No worries - North Beach is just a few minutes away for better swimming and taxis are easy to come by if you choose. I would suggest that if you are traveling with small children you might want to bring a baby monitor with you. Two of the three bedrooms are upstairs via an outside staircase. We were uncomfortable staying in the master suite downstairs while our kids were upstairs as we were afraid we wouldn't hear them. Had I asked more questions of the owner beforehand we would have planned accordingly. Also - the house is most definitely open to the outside. At sunset the geckos appear on the living room ceiling to eat bugs. My kids loved it and the geckos are completely harmless - but if you are squeamish, beware. (We never saw them during the day!) This is our 2nd trip to Isla Mujeres and I already cannot wait to come back. We have yet to have a bad meal anywhere on the island. The vibe is very laid back and the beaches are stunning. Would I stay Magi Azul again? Most definitely!

  Casa MagiAzul is situated in a perfect place on the island of Isla Mujeres. The ocean is just yards away from the house and affords plenty of privacy and quiet. Every detail in the house has been thoughtfully executed - from the chandeliers to the perfect white sheets to the magnificent pool. We were greeted cheerfully upon our arrival by the caretakers who continued to maintain the space keeping it spotless and at the same time being mindful of our privacy. We were able to walk to the markets when we chose to take advantage of the wonderful kitchen or, comfortably walk to restaurants. We have been to Isla Mujeres and Tulum several times previously, but we most fondly appreciated our visit to Magi Azul - it afforded us everything we wanted from an island vacation and we look forward to returning in the future! Thank You!

  Photos cannot convey the true beauty and incredible ocean-front setting of this home. The tasteful old world finishes create a stunning atmosphere and we were especially grateful for the very comfortable beds. We went to sleep to the sound of the ocean every night.....heaven! I don't think any one bedroom is better than the other in this home as they all have terrific ocean views. The outdoor livingroom by the Maharani and Loft Suites was a nice quiet spot to sit and check email and the rooftop patio was another great place to sit in the evening to enjoy panoramic vistas. Overall we had a fantastic time and could not have been happier with Magiazul and the caretakers. Thank you, Sherry, for allowing us to create lasting holiday memories in your gorgeous home! Cheers!

  The house is beautifully done, both architecturally and decoratively. Very functional and easy to use. Spectacular view from every floor and every bedroom. Just far enough from town to ensure privacy and quietness, but close enough to walk if you want. The kitchen is better than any i have ever seen in Mexico. Incredible refrigerator/freezer, great commercial grade stove, all tastefully done. Pots, pans and all the utensils you could need. Every room is self contained with fridge and microwave, security safe and very rooms. In fact, the bedrooms are huge. If you want to sit on your bed, or on your patio and watch the stars and moon over the Caribbean, this is the place. Hammocks under the palapa roof on the top floor are wonderful. The pool's lighting and waterfall effect create the perfect atmosphere in the open living room. Owners were easy to work with and quick to respond to questions. This place is both comfortable and luxurious at the same time. The maid service was impeccable and what we saw on the internet was what we got............and then some.

  Everything about Magi Azul is amazing! I know that seems like an overstatement but wait until you see it. The exotic design and furnishings make for an elegant and decadent experience. We stayed in the Terrazza room and I have to admit that one night we came home early because I wanted to cozy up in the dreamy bed. The sound and view of the ocean, the fantastic location close to town but far away enough to create a peaceful environment and the low profile from the street are just a few of the bonuses. The owners are great to deal with as is Armin who checks in to make sure everything is going smoothly. We looked around while we were on the island and there really is nothing better! Stay here every time!

  Isla Mujeres Mexico is one of my favorite places to vacation and my favorite gem on the island is Magi Azul Beach house! This place is well appointed with all the comforts of home plus an amazing view of the ocean just steps from the house. The open air design brings the outside in and lets you enjoy the carribean waters and allows the breeze to flow to every part of the house. Stan and Sherry truly put their unique design style and hearts into Magi Azul and have successfully created a one of a kind, relaxing retreat! Every part of our stay here was spectacular, Armin and Mariana took care of our every need! I cannot wait to return to Magi Azul, my happy place on Isla Mujeres!

  This home is truly one of the most beautiful homes on Isla Mujeres and dare I say the entire Mayan Riviera! As you walk into the open court yard, you step into another world. A world that allows you to forget all the cares of life! Everything in this tropical oasis is done with perfection! With a view of the Caribbean that never ends, you will never grow tired of relaxing on one of the many verandas and listening to the sound of the sea as the waves crash against the shore. This place is a must for anyone who wants to visit the exquisite Mayan Riviera.

  We had a fabulous stay. They house was amazing and was perfectly appointed. It is a dream home, the perfect place to relax on a vacation. Armin and Mariana took great care of us. The highlight was our trip with Diego to swim with the whale sharks!!! We saw turtle tracks and holes dug on the beach almost every morning but we never spotted the turtles, but we knew they were there! We also took a trip to Contoy Island with Caption Tony that was very enjoyable. We never had a bad meal when we were there, the food was good and surprising cheap. It was a little further away from town than we thought but we rented a golf cart for a few days and a moped for a few days! We loved it and hopefully we can bring our grown children back with us on another trip!

  We had a beautiful experience in the Maharani suite at Stan and Sherry's house. The layout of the house provided enough privacy to feel like we had it to ourselves, even though there was another couple staying downstairs in the Terraza suite. With the many nooks, crannies and levels, you rarely run into the other guests. Great little architectural surprises around every corner, a dream kitchen (we went grocery shopping and cooked lunch and dinner a few times - the gas stove and fridge/freezer are huge), hammock room, tanning deck, and a wonderful swimming pool that feels like freshwater. All rooms have balconies with unobstructed views of the ocean. Sherry told us that the house is built as close to the ocean as is legally possible. No one hangs on the beach except the guests of Maji Azul, so the view really made it seem like the ocean was part of our private room! Such a wonderful way to wake up and go to sleep. The entire house feels tucked away, but is actually pretty central - about a 15-20 minute walk to downtown or a $3 (25 peso) cab ride. Staying here is basically like living in a Toast catalog.
