  Great location and convenient. We were able to check in early, which was really nice. The air matress was time consuming and impossible to blow up and then did not hold any air. We ran out of toilet paper. It was nice to have a place for 5 people to stay.

  Our trip to NYC was during the week of 4/1/2013 to 4/6/2013. This apartment is located in a great spot - just across Lexington Ave from Grand Central Station. The owner was very helpful to work with and I appreciated the ability to visit with her on the phone. The property was clean and safe. We were able to walk to many locations (Times Square, Madison Square Gardens, Empire State Bldg, Macy's, 5th Ave Shops, Central Park, etc.). For those locations which were a little further away (9/11 Memorial, Wall St., Yankee Stadium, SoHo, Chinatown, etc.) we were able to walk across the street and take a subway to everywhere we wanted to visit. The property has 1 bedroom with the bathroom attached to the bedroom. We had 4 people stay (my wife and I and 2 daughters). Our daughters slept on the couch in the living room. Living room had a good sized couch (see picture) and cable TV. The kitchen is small, but has all the necessities (Fridge, Oven, Stove, Sink, Microwave, kitchen table). The property also provided wifi which was very convenient. Owner provided some recommendations for places to shop for groceries. Grocery stores are located within 3-6 blocks from property. There are lot's of restaurants in mid-town - and therefore within walking distance of property. I would recommend the property - particularly for it's great location.

  The apartment is in excellent location for lot of attractions the city has to offer. The owner was very professional in regards to the communication prior to arrival. Put your mind at ease, especially with some of the scams I found online. The only little issue was that the owner had a few personal belongings in the apartment (we did not expect it). After talking with the owner, we were told that the owner is in the process of moving out and I'm the future no personal belongings are going to be in the apartment. Honestly, not a big deal at all. Overall, I would stay there again!

  The apartment was dirty (dust all over the places), The microwave oven was also dirty with food on the walls and the oven plate was missing, so we had to put a regular plate and balance it. Two of the dining room chairs were broken and a rug was put to try to mitigate that. There were used razor blades (4) in the bathroom, alongside with used cleaning stuff. There wer no place to put our clothes. Location is excellent

  Owner response: We value the input and feedback of all our guests who stay at our apartment. Unfortunately, this guest did not live up to our expectations of a guest. The guest stayed in the apartment on two separate occasions, and we graciously did not charge them a cleaning fee for both times, which in retrospect was a big mistake. Our reputation as evidenced by our reviews is one of cleanliness and friendly service. We sincerely hope that in the future our guests will be more engaged and appreciative of the quality service that we provide.

  Location, Location, Location! It was perfect! So close to everything, with 2 supermarkets down the street & Grand Central Mkts around the corner. Plenty of restaurants & I can recommend the Japanese across the street, the Comfort Diner, & the Last Pint had fabulous food. However, the 3 star rating is for the lack of supplies in the apartment & the noise from the building next door. Sam was very helpful when I booked & put us in a new rental & assured me that during our stay the construction next door would not be a problem. There was an exterior construction lift right outside our window that started early every morning. Fortunately, it was quiet on Sunday & New Years Day. There were 5 of us staying for a week, & my husband & I stayed for a further 3 days. I think it is perfect for a couple. We were assured it would be fine for 5, & we were promised an air bed. We asked Safet for the air bed when we arrived & he told us several times it was coming but that never came. The mattress on the pull out sofa bed is very uncomfortable, so we used the quilt on the mattress (we had 2 sleeping bags with us that we used on top). We slept 3 in the bed on a few nights, or one person was on the floor (not that comfortable). The bathroom was great, and the shower had lots of hot water. The kitchen lacked a lot for cooking - we bought an egg flipper as we wanted to have a cooked breakfast before heading out. No DVD player in this apartment - not a big deal, but we had bought DVDs for each other for Xmas thinking there would be a player. We loved New York, and most of the things I have mentioned can be easily fixed. The apartment was so close to Times Square for NYE, it was really easy for us to walk to our restaurant and home again after the celebration.

  I wasn't expecting much in manhattan but this is a surprisingly good and spacious spot. As a business traveler, I found that I could have a lot of room in this apartment to work, good access to a kitchen with everything I need and a gymn and a pool and sauna downstairs to help me stay healthy. i was able to get a pass to the gym no problem. Construction is not an issue as mentioned in earlier reviews. nice people, nice spot, will definitely stay again...

  Great size apartment in an excellent location. Full kitchen, good bedroom and very good size bathroom. The living room is spacious! Even with the pictures, I never thought the place was so big. The person in charge was very kind and each of us got his own keys It is a very good place for a couple since the sofa is not very comfortable to sleep on, this is the only issue I would change. Although this, don't miss this opportunity! You can walk 2 blocks to Grand Central Station and to the Subway, many places to eat around, 3 blocks to 5th Ave. Very good place.

  Please note that my nickname of Contented Renter has been from other reviews. Good: location (great and central), welcome and tourist information from concierge, Janet, and apartment super, Safid. Comfortable furniture, free WIFI with good connection, flat screen TV with lots of channels. Not So Good (would have ruined our vacation were we in a lesser place than NYC): no natural light AT ALL in apt, blocked out by adjacent construction, all lights in apt need to be on at all times during day. Need to go outside (no joke) to see what weather is like. Construction not owner’s fault, but the VRBO pictures were taken before this happened, and therefore completely misrepresent the current darkness of the apartment. Drapes could not be left open any way, since construction workers are within feet of window. Noise: immediately outside bedroom window is a huge 8 ftx8ft A/C unit for gym on floors below. Extremely loud, comes on at 4.30 in a.m. until 10.30 at night. Also “warms up” by turning on and off repeatedly from about 4.00 a.m. A good night’s sleep was not an option. If this criticism sounds harsh, bear in mind that problems of light and noise are facts, not personal opinions. You should make your choice based on your tolerance of darkness and noise. Finally, in our experience, there was a tendency for communications between us, the owner, concierges, tour managers to be non-forthcoming unless prompted, often confusing and occasionally erroneous. We rent frequently from VRBO – this latter never happened before.

  Owner response: This guest is commenting on construction that is now finished on the building. The construction on the building itself is finished. There is construction going on next door, but the heavy construction has been completed and is all finishing work now. Also, this construction will be much ligher during the winter due to the cold weather.

  You couldn't ask for a better location. I spent 10 days living in this apartment and slept great every single night. It's clean and safe and best of all managed by fantastic people. I arrived on a stormy night and had problems with the building's keys. I was able to get help from the property manager and owner at 1am. They checked on me several times and were perfect hosts. The building has laundry in the basement which is a plus. Best of all the building also has a gym and I was able to join for the time I was there. I literally rolled out of bed and into the gym. It was awesome. The apartment is across the street from Grand Central Station so every site in NY was only a subway or train away. I highly recommend this property.

  Great location with easy access to Grand Central Station. I joined the gym downstairs in the lobby and was able to roll out of bed and work out before my day started. Janet and the owner were responsive to our needs 24/7. We got locked out by our mistake at 1 am and they came right over to let us in the apartment. Laundry in the basement allowed us to have clean clothes the entire week. We will be back!
