Southwind is located just far enough up the mountain to be nestled in a hard wood forest overlooking a mountain stream and hiking trails for a great mountain getaway, but only fifteen minutes from all of the amenities. We are wheel chair accessible from the front entrance. The main floor has two master bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed, each with a master bath, a great room with a wood fire place and sofa bed, fully furnished kitchen, eating area, dining room, screened porch, and deck. Upstairs has a bedroom with two twin beds and bath, an office, and a screened porch with a sofa bed. We supply everything that you should need from linens, towels, paper products like toilet paper and paper towels, shampoo, dishwashing detergent, etc. to firewood.
Big Canoe is a 9,000 acre gated wild life sanctuary located in the north Georgia mountains in a hard wood forest with five lakes and twenty plus miles of hiking trails. We offer three championship golf courses, a tennis facility with soft, hard and indoor courts, swimming in two outdoor and one indoor pool, a fitness center, a swimming lake with a beach,paddle boats, canoes, and a water slide, and a stocked fishing lake with rental pontoon boats and canoes. We are available for long term rental from a month to a year.

From the moment we arrived until we left, we enjoyed Southwind. The view is breathtaking and the home is beautiful and very comfortable. Pet friendly- so our dog came along! We hiked on the trails close to the home and saw the beauty that surrounds Big Canoe. We brought steaks to grill and ate S'mores..(-: Our kids loved riding on the Jeep Trail and we rented a pontoon boat and caught 3 fish! We are still talking about our stay and have great memories. Thank you David for helping coordinate this great family trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway.

Southwind was great! The house was clean, well laid out and very comfortable. It's near the top of the Mountain so there was little to no traffic and it's got easy trail access. It's also dog friendly, which is a plus. David went out of his way to take care of us and I would definitely rent from him again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
