Coronado house description
This three-bedroom, two-bathroom classic Coronado Village home, which was built in 1910, seamlessly combines the charm of a unique early twentieth-century home with the look and feel of contemporary styling. Completely remodeled, refurnished, and repainted in 2011, this home is nestled on elegant and tranquil A Avenue and situated only minutes by foot from one of America's finest beaches, the Coronado Municipal Golf Course and, of course, the world-famous Hotel del Coronado. You can enjoy the comfort of a fully air-conditioned home with travertine bathrooms with multiple and rainhead shower heads, a private and spacious master suite, French doors that open onto a private patio and walled garden, and hardwood floors of rare beauty and style. Covered for decades by carpet, the original 1910 clear Douglas fir floors breathe again after being restored in 2011 to their original splendor. The home features an updated kitchen with a new stainless steel refrigerator and a filtered water system, a new tankless water heater, a gas fireplace, three flat screen televsions, cable access, and high-speed WIFI internet access. Known as the Ben and Camille Wyatt Home, the house has a rich history. Commodore Ben Harrison Wyatt was an early U.S. Navy aviator, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for his work in 1926 in mapping Alaska, and a driving force behind the founding of the Coronado Municipal Golf Course. During his 30-year naval career, he also served as naval air attache in several European capitals and, later, as military governor of the Marshall Islands. His wife, Camille Palmer Wyatt, was the daughter of a well-known British landscape painter.

- Coronado Beach Makes Top Five All-Star List by Greer Goebels San Diego’s Coronado Beach: This broad, family-friendly beach ranks No. 1, best beach in the nation, on the lists of both National Geographic and Forbes. Both lists are Hawaii-heavy, so it says a lot that they’re topped by Coronado, where the sand sparkles with mica and surfers and families mingle seamlessly. Coronado is also No. 6 on the Travel Channel’s Best U.S. Beaches list (topped by Hawaii) and No. 9 on tripadvisor.com’s list of Most Popular U.S. Beaches. Home away from home is the way we felt the moment we walked into this house. We felt comfortable from the start. The house itself is immaculate, furniture is comfortable and clean. Nice dining area for family to enjoy dinner cooked in the beautiful and fully equipped kitchen. Everything was there, from blender to wine opener to nice pots and pans. The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds are super comfy. Top Of the line bedding was an added feature. Location location location! Close to everything, walk to the beach to watch the sunset was awesome, biked all over, restaurants and grocery stores close by. Ferry at your fingertips. It's all good! We love this house and woll definitely book this beautiful home again

We (6 aspiring Neuroscientists) stayed here while we visited San Diego for a conference. The house was in the perfect location to access the convention centre daily and in the evenings it provided the perfect retreat away from the hustle bustle of the conference and hectic downtown areas. The house was extremely comfortable and had all the mod cons you could ever need. An extra bonus was the proximity to Coronado beach.... where we took regular walks to watch the people, as well as spot dolphins and pelicans. We will definitely book to stay here when the conference next visits San Diego. Thanks!

Our stay at this house was very pleasant. The property is nicely appointed, tastefully furnished and close to many attractions on the island. The HVAC system worked well when needed, and the fireplace was great. Would recommend for families or a couples getaway.

We came to San Diego for a ladies get away and couldnt have picked a better home or location with this gem. The house is pristine and the location is unbeatable. Shops, cafes and the beach all so close by. The rooms are spacious and the house had everything we needed and more. Woudl highly recommend this place for a group trip or a family of 5-6 even. Will hope to come back and stay again in the future.

We stayed at this beautiful home while my family was in town for a wedding. Somehow the house was within walking distance to everywhere we went. The Kitchen has top notch appliances and easy to use. The back yard was perfect for my 2 year old grandson. My daughter just bought a house and said she wants the exact bathroom/Shower built in her house. I highly recommend this property.

Three of us stayed at Bpb's home and it was better than was expected. The home is immaculately clean, all the furnishings were top notch. The backyard was inviting and peaceful. Bob is very accommodating and checks in if anything else is needed. He also regularly updates the home. We will be making arrangements for a return visit.

Everything you hope it will be...
Everything you hope it will be...
The property is beautiful, clean and in the perfect location for enjoying the beach, the Del and Orange Avenue. Everything is exactly as it appears in the photos, no bait and switch when you get there! The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, including. Bob thinks of everything from fresh flowers on the table to extra propane for the grill. The back yard is very secure if you are bringing the family dog. And you aren't on your own once you get the key. Bob was very accessible while we were there for any questions that came up and his responses were quick...short of showing up with room service Bob makes every effort to make sure you are comfortable and welcome. I hate to write this review because I know the house will book out even further!!! But if you have the opportunity to rent this charming property, you will not be sorry!!

Great Family Vacation
Great Family Vacation
My family had a wonderful time at the house on A Avenue. It was perfect for us since we have small children. My younger one could nap while my older one walked to the beach with my husband. The kids also enjoyed kicking balls around in the backyard while we grilled. The house had a great location on Coronado and was close enough to get to the zoo & Legoland for some additional fun! We plan on returning next year.

We are from the beautiful city of Carlsbad, just 25 miles north of Coronado and all I can say is we should have done a staycation a long time ago. We went to Hawaii twice this year and this vacation was stress free all the way around. Living in San Diego county, it's easy to forget how beautiful we have it here--SoCal families, don't stress yourself out...right here in Coronado with its miles of beaches is all you need! The home was sooo beautifully remodeled and so clean that I would recommend this home to the most discerning person. Bob was so easy to deal with, our visit was truly pleasant. My kids are already asking when we are returning!

What a wonderful vacation home! We had the best time and everything was perfect. We are picky travelers and were pleased to see the attention to detail at this property. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook an upscale meal. The bedrooms were nicely appointed with beautiful linens and comfortable beds. The bathrooms were great, lots of pretty travertine - one with a Toto soft-closing toilet and rain shower! The backyard was a perfect setting to enjoy the beautiful weather! Add the historic charm of the home with the original hardwood floors and it was awesome! We had four adults total and 2 dogs. Thank you, Bob, for everything! We hope to return next summer!

One of the many wonderful things about this home is that it is within short walking distance of all that Coronado has to offer and within minutes by car or water taxi from all that San Diego has to offer.
