Newly Remodeled Classic Coronado Home, Only Blocks from Beach

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom classic Coronado Village home, which was built in 1910, seamlessly combines the charm of a unique early twentieth-century home with the look and feel of contemporary styling. Completely remodeled, refurnished, and repainted in 2011, this home is nestled on elegant and tranquil A Avenue and situated only minutes by foot from one of America's finest beaches, the Coronado Municipal Golf Course and, of course, the world-famous Hotel del Coronado. You can enjoy the comfort of a fully air-conditioned home with travertine bathrooms with multiple and rainhead shower heads, a private and spacious master suite, French doors that open onto a private patio and walled garden, and hardwood floors of rare beauty and style. Covered for decades by carpet, the original 1910 clear Douglas fir floors breathe again after being restored in 2011 to their original splendor. The home features an updated kitchen with a new stainless steel refrigerator and a filtered water system, a new tankless water heater, a gas fireplace, three flat screen televsions, cable access, and high-speed WIFI internet access. Known as the Ben and Camille Wyatt Home, the house has a rich history. Commodore Ben Harrison Wyatt was an early U.S. Navy aviator, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for his work in 1926 in mapping Alaska, and a driving force behind the founding of the Coronado Municipal Golf Course. During his 30-year naval career, he also served as naval air attache in several European capitals and, later, as military governor of the Marshall Islands. His wife, Camille Palmer Wyatt, was the daughter of a well-known British landscape painter.

We cannot find fault with this rental property. Excellent location, furnishing and equipment. This will be enhanced by the kitchen remodelling currently taking place. The enclosed backyard was ideal for families with small children.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I had a convention in downtown San Diego and brought my husband, two kids (5 & 2), Mom and Step-Dad with me. The house was the perfect fit for our family. We were very comfortable with all of the amenities of the home, from beach towels, blankets, cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment. The house is very conveniently located near a great playground, main street Coronado and the bridge to downtown. You can easily walk everywhere but parking was convenient for our rental. Bob made our experience even better as he is very easy and efficient to work with. I hope to return very soon. I love this home and Coronado.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We have stayed at this lovely cottage twice, and plan to return at least once each year. It is a charming yet perfectly updated to today's standards... truly a rare gem. Specifically, we love: * The marble and travertine bathrooms with rain showerheads * The comfortable beds, with designer linens and down pillows * The private fenced yard * The well stocked kitchen with new stainless appliances * The easy walk to the Hotel Del and the Ocean Avenue beach * The nearby yogurt shop * The safe quiet neighborhood * Your prompt/instant responses to our texts/emails * The historic and charming neighborhood theater * The quick 15 minute drive to the airport We couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay for a few days, a week, or even a month. Three generations continue to enjoy your home - teens, 40's and 70's - and next time we will bring the dog! Thanks again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was the PERFECT place for our Spring Break getaway! Every member of our party- three adults, a kindergartener, and a preschooler-loved the house and of course, Coronado. Having worked years ago in real estate on the island, I know pictures sometimes lie, but this house was even better than depicted online. The remodel has been tastefully done, the house is immaculately maintained, and the property managers were beyond helpful. We hope to make it a yearly tradition and could not recommend it more!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is a great house! The house is just as advertised and as pictured on VRBO. The downstairs bedrooms are perfect for those who don't like climbing stairs and the upstairs master is a perfect retreat! It is located in a great neighborhood and is within walking or biking distance to everything on Coronado. Bob was delightful to work with. The house was ready when promised, was clean and very well equipped. Bob greeted us on our arrival and explained everything we needed to know about the house. We all loved Coronado and would love to return! We would highly recommend Coronado and this house!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed in Bobs home for one week during the holidays. It was such a magical place being near the hotel and the beach during this time. The home was beautiful and clean. It was nice having the yard all enclosed having a 3 year old. It was also nice being able to walk into town and to the beach from the house. Another great thing was being central to all that San Diego has to offer. We can't wait to come again. And Bob was nothing but wonderful. Thanks again for sharing your home! :) The McNabbsRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented the classic Coronado home for vacation and to attend a wedding event. This was the perfect place as the location allowed us to walk to shopping, the beach and most of all restaurants. We felt very safe in the area. We had five adults staying in the house without feeling crowded. I can't wait to go back and enjoy all that the home and Coronado have to offer!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
