We rented this home for three weeks in August to celebrate my husband's 60 th birthday. We invited friends and family to join us. It is indeed a beautiful home, with wonderful artwork and is well equipped for a group. we spent almost every evening on the large outside deck enjoying the sunsets, making fires in the outdoor fireplace and then star gazing! A wonderful, relaxing vacation! We hope to be back! thank you Nina for making it such a great trip! We have fallen n love with San Juan Island!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so very much Dawne and Larry for your wonderful review! Also much appreciation for watering plants in that hot weather...nice to have rain finally! August is the best time and so glad that you could stay so long!

House was a treat -- plenty of room for privacy and gathering. The great room accommodates multiple goings on but everyone can feel connected -- some cooking, some at fabulous window seat reading, others talking in chairs. Highly recommend, both for its own virtues and for access to the Island's natural features.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much Chris for a great review, and so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! Come back next summer!

This house was a wonderful retreat for our family to get together and spend a week relaxing. It was perfect for us to be able to nap, cook, take walks and read. The bench seat along the bank of windows facing the water is perfect to sit and relax. We would not hesitate to rent this house in the future if available.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Amazing house in a serene setting. I almost hesitate to review this property because I don't want it to fill up! We were able to launch our kayak from the house and paddle every afternoon. The kitchen was a dream to cook in and I did for almost every meal.Owner response: Thank so much Katie! Hope to have your gang back next year! kind regards, Nina

We had a fantastic stay at this Mitchell Bay home. The view was great. The home was comfortable and had all the kitchen supplies we needed. The house is very nice. There was plenty of room for us to enjoy time in our group as well as have some space. The house is close to Roche Harbor and to Friday Harbor so we could go either way easily. We would recommend this house to a family or, like us, to a few couples looking for an adult adventure.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank so much Leslie! Hope to have your gang back next year! kind regards, Nina

This is a beautifully designed and decorated home in a great location. Large enough for a family, but still cozy if just for two. The dream house for a girls get-a-way. My favorite place is the window seat in the great room with a view of Mitchell Bay and the most spectacular sunsets. The outdoor deck and fireplace is perfect for that memorable dining experience, whether is be for two or for 30. It has the best designed and equipped kitchen I have ever been in. Only a few minutes from Roche Harbor Airport, Resort and Marina. You won't want to leave!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Gorgeous kitchen, dining and living room to enjoy unobstructed views from this this huge, inviting room. Having tea every morning on the window seat while reading the morning news, or enjoying dinners either on the deck or in the dining room brings the best of outside and views inside. Excellent location for town visits or total privacy. Access to the boat dock and walks. A visual beauty and comfort zone for an ideal vacay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This is a magical property on a mythical island. This home is world class. It was designed by an Architect with a clear vision of maximizing comfort, modern style and gracious living. We've been to the island in summer and winter. Summer on the island brings an embrace of warm, comforting, clean air. The home is perfect for outdoor dining with the deck overlooking the bay. Sunsets are spectatcular. You view the bay, the surrounding private green of madrone trees and the coral glow of sky. We had an unexpected comet shower one evening. We laid on the deck with an absolute clear and black sky. We saw the most shooting stars I've ever, ever seen. The home is so relaxing with the inviting large window seat overlooking the madrones and the bay. I've read many books and have taken naps in that spot. And I'm not a nap taker. The serenity, peace and calm of this remarkable home will enchant you. When there, I'm able to relax into a very deep place of restoration for my soul.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
