  Denise and Athan are very hospitable and perfect hosts. I am looking for just the right words to describe a feeling you can only really "feel" by being there yourself. We have stayed in many rentals at Dillon Beach over the years but spending our vacation at Etoile De Mer was an incomparable experience. Our son & daughter in law flew in from Austin, Texas to join my husband & I for 6 nights. From the moment we walked into Etoile De Mer, we felt relaxed. We were thrilled (and very appreciative) by the wine and other “goodies” that greeted us upon arrival...VERY nice!!! This house is beautiful, spotless, light & airy, SO tastefully decorated; and the beds/linens are luxurious (an understatement). Sleeping with the windows open to let the ocean sounds put you to sleep is just too addicting, be careful there, you eventually will need to leave and you will not be happy about that. There are so many lovely details of this home, artwork, skylights etc. The kitchen made cooking a pleasure with the open floor plan, which allowed us to visit while preparing meals; did I mention the awesome Wolf stove? We loved being able to walk just a short distance to the beach and the location of the home allowed the “men” to show off their kite flying skills…memories that I will cherish. The upstairs game room is very large, and we had a great time playing pool! The only noise we encountered while staying at the house was the sound of our own laughter from the wonderful times we had! It has been a pure joy…. to me, food, wine, and good coffee just taste better there...I envy you already if whoever is reading this is planning a visit...you won't be disappointed. We are already talking about a return trip!

  The ladies of the big house recently held their annual girls weekend get away at Etoile De Mer. The home is lovely, much nicer than any beach house I have ever stayed at, and the setting beautiful The description can not truly tell you how comfortable the house is. Everything is beautifully arranged and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need (well maybe a better cork screw), the bathroom are clean, light and modern, the beds are Heavenly (for real) and there is plenty of space if you need to have quiet time. We were extremely fortunate with the weather which allowed for beautiful ocean views out the front windows during the daytime and lovely moon light at night. We were able to walk on the beach each day and into the little town of Dillon Beach where you can pick up basics like milk. I would suggest you stock up before you hit Dillon Beach if you want to cook however it is not that far to better stocked small markets not too far away. The main part of the house is one level and the bathroom did seem to be wheelchair accessible. We all highly recommend Etoile De Mer and look forward to a return visit. ps add the in-house massages by Dorothy to your stay if you really want to relax!

  We hold an annual Girls' Weekend Away at Dillon Beach every year, and this year we stayed at Etoile de Mer. We're already making plans to stay there next year, because the house was perfect for us. Plenty of room, gorgeous views, delightful decor with lots of lovely touches. We spent time talking, laughing, eating and walking on the beach. Saturday night we wandered down to the end of the cul de sac to look out over cliff at the ocean and see the rising sliver of a moon with Jupiter and Venus nearby. All in all, a perfect weekend for a group of women friends in their 50s, 60s and 70s. The house would also be excellent for families. It's a marvelous place.

  The house actually exceeded our expectations based the listing photos. It is a gorgeous home, situated almost on the beach, and with amazing views from the front windows. The attention to details both big and small throughout the home are terrific. Beginning with the upstairs game room with pool table and foosball, nice TV and sound system.......our adult children and grandchildren had a blast. This home was so kid-friendly.....from Lincoln Logs, to a whole variety of board games for all ages, to children's books, movies, etc. The kids had a ball and we, as their grandparents, were thrilled. The beach house is easy to find, it's immaculate and very well organized. The owners were a pleasure to work with and communicated freely with us. We would highly recommend this beach house to our friends and relatives. The house was perfect for a very memorable family weekend.

  We booked a girl's getaway and were extremely pleased with the accomodations. Home was very clean and stocked with all necesary items. The beds and linens were high-end and very comfortable. We visited Napa,Sonoma and other areas and it was very nice to come back in the evening to relax with some wine and cheese. I would highly recommend this home. Denise answered all my questions and gave me several recommendations for places to eat and visit. Be aware that Dillon Beach is much cooler than inland and pack accordingly. Thank you for a great vacation!

  Our weekend at Etoile De Mer was everything we expected and more! The house was beautiful and had everything you could ask for. The owner Denise was wonderful to work with and was available when needed. The photographs show the house as it truely is, which made our visit wonderful! There was georgeous views from every window. The home was very warm and cozy, but with more than enough space for everyone to have a good time. The property was very clean and well maintained. Our "Girls Weekend" was one of the best and we hope to spend it at "Etoile De Mer" again next year.

  Georgeous house! Great views! We stayed at Etoile De Mer with 4 adults and 5 children (more than enough room). My boys never left the game room and slept in the "fort." Beach is walking distance and just minutes away. Denise was a gracious host and very easy to work with. Couldn't have asked for a better summer getaway!

  Our family stayed here in April 2011 and we had a wonderful time. The house is absolutely gorgeous, clean, had everything we needed, and truly accommodated all 12 of us very comfortably (8 adults & 4 kids). The kids had a wonderful time playing upstairs. There were lots of toys and movies to keep them entertained and the adults had a wonderful time playing Pool and Foosball up there as well. The house truly has a beach house like feel and a completely unobstructed view of the ocean - which was amazing! There is beach access about 50 yards from the front door of the house which was very convenient and since we didn't need to drive anywhere we could really enjoy our time at the house. Denise (the owner) was wonderful to work with from beginning to end and really made it a great experience for our family. We are looking forward to planning another weekend up there in the near future. Highly recommend this home if you are looking for a relaxing and calming time away!

  My adult daughters and I had the pleasure of staying in this lovely beach home for our recent "Girls' Retreat" and it proved to be beyond ideal. It exceeded our expectations in every way and we can't wait to return to this piece of heaven. The location is perfect...ocean views, sounds and scents...as it's so close to the beach! We had fabulous weather with whale action and star gazing without having to leave the comfort of the Adirondack chairs! We commented on how QUIET the area/home is with the exception of the soothing, crashing sounds from the waves. The home is so beautifully decorated and is larger than it appears from the photos. The main living/dining area is huge and the gourmet kitchen is beyond fully equipped...very fun to cook on a Wolf stove..and we loved the dishware. The family/game room upstairs is a bonus. We played pool and foosball and watched the Royal Wedding in front of one of three fireplaces. We all slept well in the comfortable beds with lovely linens. Everything was fresh and clean. This home is truly beyond 5 stars and we highly recommend it. Thank you for sharing your gem.

  Our stay at Etoile de Mer was simply fabulous! The home is impeccably maintained and so luxurious. We loved being so close to the beach and watching the amazing sunsets each night. The home far-exceeded our expectations and left each of us with lasting beautiful memories of our time there. We are counting the days to when we can go back again!
