I agree with other reviews. If I have minor addition to those. 1) Yes, the person keeps our house tidy is great asset. You don't want wasting your time doing small things you can do back in your country. 2) Cafe near by. Excellent 3) Bakery near by. Excellent. 4) Clothe size adjustment shop near by. Very handy. So you can devote yourself for cloth shopping while in Paris. If I have very small complaint, I did not see Catherine Deneuve at my near by Cafe.

Clean, Quiet and Comfortable!

Date of Stay: 03/25/12 Review Submitted: 04/18/12

I stayed for a week with my wife and daughter. The place is in a super location, very nice building and everything is very well kept. The living room is just awesome with a great view and nice light. The lift is tiny, but typical european retrofitted lift. There is a woman who comes in and straightens up every day! How cool is that? While much of the apartment is vintage/antique, everything works well and it's very comfortable. Karen (the owner) takes much care in knowing her guests and provides pretty much anything you could ask for. We arrived very late and she was kind enough to have some croissants, fruit, juice, milk, crackers and some other snacks waiting for us on our arrival. Because everything is so nice and well kept, I wouldn't recommend it for young kids as it would be a shame if they soiled the furniture, etc. But the two bedrooms and ample living room provide plenty of space for a large family. Also, it's very quiet at night and easy to get your rest for a full day of walking Paris!!

A wonderul location in the 6th arrondisement

Guest: Melanie S. (Boston MA)
Date of Stay: 12/08/11 Review Submitted: 12/28/11

We had a wonderful time in Paris and this apartment was a big part of the experience. The location is terrific and you can virtually walk anywhere if you have the desire. It's close to great restaurants, open air markets, shopping, major streets, etc, but at the same time it's private and very quiet. It is a perfect location from which you can meander the city, visit museums and all of highlights of Paris. It is also conveniently located to both the metro and the RER. Nothing is very far away. If you like the Left Bank and the 6th arrondisement, this is a place you should put at the top of your list. The apartment is exactly as described. It is spotless and impeccably maintained. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to the most discerning traveler. It is beautifully furnished but yet a relaxed and comfortable spot. I think the property is best suited to couples or families with older children. Karen (owner) and Riza (person on the ground) are both very tremendously helpful and readily accessible. I would go back in a heartbeat!

A truly Parisian experience!

There are so many wonderful things to do and see in the most romantic city in the world, but my favourite thing to do in Paris is to stroll through Jardin du Luxembourg – and the location of this luxurious apartment allowed me to indulge in that activity every day during my recent holiday in Paris – I was in heaven! Tucked away on a charming and quiet neighbourhood street full of intricate wrought iron terraces and their overflowing flower gardens, and in the heart of the bustling 6th arrondissement, the location was truly perfect and contributed to making the apartment one of the many highlights of our trip. Its lovely furnishings, although not child friendly, are full of detail and history, and reflect the owner’s genuine love of France. Additionally, the fully equipped kitchen and large rooms made it a pleasure to come ‘home’ to each evening after lots of walking and site-seeing. A great deal of thought and attention has gone into the amenities available in the apartment, clearly suggesting that the owner takes pride in the home and desires to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. All this plus being so close to the train, restaurants and of course the wonderful Jardin du Luxembourg, makes this apartment a really special and truly Parisian experience. Can’t wait until next time – I can almost hear JdL calling for me to return - Je viens mon chéri!

Lovely Paris Apartment!

Guest: Donna (New Hampshire, USA)
Date of Stay: 10/01/11 Review Submitted: 10/16/11

We were 3 professional women on vacation in Paris and stayed at this lovely apartment the first week in October. We were very pleased to find it exactly as the owner described. It is located in a very nice, clean and quiet area, within walking distance of the metro, wonderful restaurants and shopping. The photos shown online accurately depict how the apartment was found upon our arrival. The owner was extremely helpful, communicative and concerned with our well-being and comfort during our entire stay. Having phone and internet connections was a plus! We would recommend this rental to anyone looking for accommodations of this type.

- The listing description is accurate regarding the property's location. - The photos are accurate - Very Clean and Very well-maintained - Karen, the owner could not have been more helpful, kind and considerate. - Karen provided clear information regarding the apartment and lots of great touristy information in the personal handbook she created which is made available in the apartment. Lots and lots of books about Paris are available for your use while staying in the apartment as well. - I would recommend this property without hesitation. - The Luxembourg garden is very close and beautiful. There is local shopping and there are at least 2 bakeries within walking distance as well an many restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was perfect for two couples or a couple with 2 teenagers. Many thanks to Karen and Riza for making our trip to Paris all it could be.

Superb Accomodations

Guest: Len (McLean, VA USA)
Date of Stay: 07/09/11 Review Submitted: 08/23/11

Our vacation in Paris was made all the more wonderful by our superb accomodations. My wife, myself and our two teenage children (18 & 16) used this apartment as a home base for our 8 day Paris vacation and couldn't have been happier with the set-up. The kids had there own room with a tv and space for the laptop (including internet). When we were home, this was there hideout for reading, Facebooking with friends, and watching tv. The Master bedroom was quite nice but was only used for sleeping because my wife and I much preferred spending our down time on the cute little balcony, watching the world go by as we read our books and had our wine and cheese. There is one toilet, but two bathrooms so there was never an issue with waiting to shower or wash up. The kitchen is very well equipped and functional if you wish to save some money and cook while visiting. It is also the place we used for breakfast every day and for snacks, drinks, etc. It's so convenient to have a kitchen available and not have to run out every time you need something. The location of the apartment is also exceptional. Located within a stone's throw of Luxembourg Gardens, it is convenient to all the major sights. We walked absolutely everywhere, but that was by choice; there are both bus and train stops within an easy walk from the front door of the building. Within a one block radius you will find a grocery store, a boulangerie, and several cafes. Many other restaurants and shops can be found on the main street several blocks further. We couldn't have asked for better accomodations. Highly recommended.

A very comfortable apartment.

Date of Stay: 06/11/11 Review Submitted: 06/22/11

I just spent a week in this apartment with my husband and my son. It is a very spacious, comfortable two bedroom apartment. The bookshelves were stocked with lots of guidebooks on Paris which was great. The washer dryer and also the free phone to the US were particularly nice conveniences. The apartment got cleaned daily by Riza who is very nice. The apartment is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood and it was a short walk to the Vavin metro station. It was like being at home in Paris. There is a patisserie nearby named Kayser where we bought lovely pastries for breakfast every morning. The restaurants in the neighborhood that we particularly liked were Le Parc aux Cerfs and Le Timbre. We did not like Wadja or Chez Fernand. Other restaurants we liked in the 6th, but which are a bit more of a walk, were Chez Dumonet and La Marlotte.

Finally: Accurate photos of an elegant, spacious, calm & comfy Paris apt! Superb sightseeing base

Guest: Dali (USA)
Date of Stay: 01/31/11 Review Submitted: 02/17/11

This is our favorite of over 10 Paris apartment vacation rentals. Your vacation starts upon entering the grand foyer of this secure building. Ride the elevator up, turn the key & voilà: enter the divine & spacious apartment that instantly feels like home. Drop your bags, pass through the entry foyer that doubles as dining room & enter a beautifully decorated salon outfitted w/comfy sofas, chairs, art & artifacts collected by a traveler w/elegant taste. Large windows (French doors to the balcony, actually) fill the room w/natural sunlight, a rarity in past rentals. Here's where you'll relax w/friends, sipping tea or nightcaps after a busy day of Paris sightseeing, shopping, shows, whatever! We hosted a soirée for Paris friends using glasses, china & serving utensils from the well-stocked kitchen. Two large bedrooms w/sunny courtyard views & curtains that keep out light so you can sleep in. Closets w/ample hangers & storage space galore. Stow the luggage--you're home now. Working on the road as I did? No problem w/free WIFI, computer, printer, scanner & even free long-distance calls to the US or around the world. The "Guest's Guide Book" answers every conceivable question--but the maid who visits daily is also a helpful resource. Maid service is the kind of pampering that makes this a true vacation! English-language & international satellite TV channels plus a library of DVD movies, music & radio/stereo system. The large kitchen will please any cook, but it's ok if you only use only the coffeemaker, ignoring the large refrigerator w/ice-maker, large stove & oven, microwave, dishwasher, etc. Pack light: there's a clothes washer w/separate dryer. Some rentals have combo washer-dryer units that take days to dry items--not so here. Two bathrooms w/shower, tub, heated towel racks & toiletries in cabinets. Separate WC w/pretty sink is stocked w/ TP—no need to waste your precious vacation time stocking your Paris home. Wander the quiet residential neighborhood well located at the edge of Luxembourg Gardens (just south of the Seine, east of St Germain area) or walk a few blocks the other way to the Montparnasse entertainment/dining district. Within minutes of all transit: several Metro lines, RER, bus & taxi stand. Nearby markets, boutiques & cafes, too. As ideal for 2 roommates as for 2 couples or a family. Immaculate clean. NOT ONE OF THOSE SITES W/FAKE "GLAMOUR SHOT" PICTURES & far more comfortable & affordable than a Paris 4* hotel.

A Perfect Holiday at the Holidays

Guest: Visiting Family (Washington DC)
Date of Stay: 12/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/07/11

We cannot recommend staying at this wonderful apartment more enthusiastically. Imagine for a moment a husband and wife traveling to Paris to spend the holidays with a daughter studying there and bringing with them another college age daughter...and the girl's mother, ex-wife of the husband. While we all get along great you can imagine that we would want an apartment with sufficient room and privacy to allow all to have their space and to be together for festivities or just relaxing when the impulse arose. This place accommodated all of us in great comfort and style in a location that really can't be beat. The owner is a master of making the stay easy, preparing well for the guests, providing great service through the cleaning woman who comes in daily, leaving detailed instructions about how to handle every eventuality and ensuring the experience is a joy from beginning to end. The apartment itself is beautiful, especially the bright, beautifully done living room. The kitchen enabled us to have many dinners together when venturing out into the cold Paris night seemed foreboding. The phones and wireless and televisions and other electronic amenities were all there when we needed them. And we...all of whom usually stay in great international hotels when we travel for business...found this experience a step up in comfort because it was, for 12 days, our place in Paris. The neighborhood is not only wonderful...with Montparnasse and the Luxembourg Gardens around the corner...but we walked regularly to St. Germain, to the Rue Mouffetard, to the Louvre and the 8th, even to the Marais...and found it all manageable. Near to the Metro. In a terrific building. Near to shopping and great restaurants. It is hard to imagine a better place or a better experience than we all had.

Excellent Property

Date of Stay: 12/02/10 Review Submitted: 12/12/10

I work very regularly in Paris and have rented many apartments. On this trip I brought my husband with me and made it a working holiday. This apartment is ideal for anyone working/holidaying in Paris. The office (also converts to a bedroom) is Wi-Fi and spacious. It creates a good environment for focusing on task at hand to get back out in the city. The office is also far enough away from the bedroom that you do not disturb anyone having a nap. The kitchen is fantastic and incredibly well equipped. It is lovely and offers a feeling of home. The lounge was my favourite part - it is incredibly spacious and bright - relaxing tones of white and very unique decor makes this a great space to enjoy a coupe de champagne before heading out to dinner. Or just to relax and read one of the many, many books found here. All in all this is an excellent property to rent! I could not have been happier!

Absolutely Fantastic Paris Apartment!!

Date of Stay: 12/02/10 Review Submitted: 12/10/10

I reserved this apartment for a working week/holiday with my husband. I've stayed in many Parisian apartments in recent years, however this apartment is very different with its use of space and decor. We used the apartment as a one bedroom and I worked in the office (which also converts to a bedroom). The office is fully wi-fi and organised to enhance working efficiently so you can get back out in the city. The kitchen is ridiculously equipped with everything you can imagine. We had a great time lounging over the cutting table with wine as we prepared dinner. There is a feel of home to this apartment that I enjoyed very much. The space, as I mentioned, is used well and there is sufficient distance between the office, bedrooms and kitchen so as not to disturb anyone who might be staying with you. The lounge was my favourite part of the apartment. Incredibly spacious and relaxing in tones of white. The decor is very unique and there is nothing but light. It is lovely!

Enchanting All Around!

Guest: Kristin (Orange)

...beginning with the beauty of a historic building with its magnificent metalwork doors and the splendor of the entrance beyond. Inside the lobby, a grand spiral staircase (more beautiful ironwork) hints at the lovely apartment to come... Inside the double doors of the rental, a foyer, with an intricate stained glass wall, is dressed with charming painted chairs in "paille". What a lovely welcome! Moving on, to the great salon beyond, French windows open onto a dreamy balcony and table for two--and to the best Paris view! Back inside, there are plenty of soft couches on which to rest, have wine or tea, or just "be". Plants and antiques add to the warmth and history. Moving back through the entrance, past the pretty chairs, just after the stained glass wall, there is a long hallway filled with books: Paris, France, cooking.... At the head of the hall, there is a shower room (excellent water pressure) with fluffy towels and neat robes. After, a water closet with porcelain fixtures (so pretty!) and then the first bedroom with a ultra comfortable bed and cozy chairs, where I loved listening the the nightingale sing beyond the window! The master bedroom is next, with another spacious, bright, and gorgeous atmosphere. A private bath comes just after the bedroom. Next up, the kitchen with its reminds-you-of-Provence pottery and its culinary charm: plenty of room to prepare palette watering dinner. The apartment is elegant and sparkling clean, yet cozy and inviting... And the location is ideal -- next to Luxembourg Garden and shopping -- also, it's just up the street from the Metro, where a direct line takes you to Notre-Dame and to the historic Shakespeare & Co. bookshop!

The apartment met and surpassed my every expectation. Lovely ambiance via decor that kept it's old world charm while maintaining comfort with bedrooms and bedding that assured perfect rest. The well-equipped, recently updated kitchen was the setting for gourmet fare. And do try having delicious French coffee on the balcony with warm croissants from just around the corner! Located just a few blocks from Montparnasse with it's wonderful shops and restaurants, a transportaton hub, it sits adjacent to Luxumbourg Gardens. Friendly and competent maid service, the use of computer and telephone communication, and a landlady whose utmost goal appears to be her tennants' satisfaction and pleasurable visit made this "trip of a lifetime" a dream come true!

Highly recommend, ideal in every way. Great location, incredibly clean and elegantly decorated. Perfect selection of guidebooks, a large living room where I had a reception of 15 people comfortably as will as smaller meetings without bother others in the apartment. Excellent housekeeper was available for serving at the reception. There were also two telephones that could call more than 25 countries for free, and a cell phone I could use while in Paris that I gave the number to reach me. The kitchen is great and has a washer dryer and all the American amenities. Not the usual rental, and an owner who cares about her guests as well as the apt. Oh yes, and Laptop, printer, WIFi, scanner, all in all a fabulous spacious place

I just spent several days in this apartment and it was very difficult to leave.... This was heaven! The salon is huge, gorgeous, yet comfortable and inviting. The two bedrooms are spacious and private, each with a marble bathroom and there's a separate water closet, as well. The kitchen is brand new, large and well equiped; every appliance and gadget imaginable is available for the amateur or pro chef; you could easily prepare a dinner party for 8 or more..There are several phones - all with free service - for local and international calls, and the computer connections (cable and wireless) are perfect. The housekeeper services the apartment daily, lives in the building and speaks excellent English. She will be happy to help you with computer connections, laundry (yeah, washer and dryer included), etc etc. If you want the frigo stocked prior to your arrival, just let her know. I've stayed in many holiday rentals and give this fab property a 5-star+ rating!

An extremely comfortable, excellently located, apartment. The main living room in reality is every bit as splendid as the photograph suggests. Other major advantages from our perspective are the quietness, the truly excellent access to multiple bus routes and several metro/RER stations, the telephone and PC facilities, and the excellent cleaning etc service. Fairly close to subway. Restaurants all around in walking distance. I would recommend this property to anyone.

This apartment allowed us to have one of the best vacations we've ever had in our lives! It's proximity to restaurants, parks, taxis, metro, shopping is like no other. The apartment itself is gorgeous, decorated with unparalleled style and designed with comfort in mind. We were so appreciative of the "Welcome Book" that outlines local markets, pharmacies, restaurant etc. Mme. Fawcett even thought to list emergency contact numbers on the refrigerator- no stone was left unturned in preparation for her guests. We really felt that we were experiencing what it would be like to live in Paris. After our return, we still go through our pictures as a pleasant reminder of our time there. We are so grateful and hope to return again and again and again... Also, a great music collection for late afternoons after bustling about the city - sit down, open the balcony doors, and relax with a good book. Perfection!

UN APARTAMENTO DE ENSUEÑO/THE STAY OF YOUR DREAMS

Thanks so much Karen for opening your home's doors to us, we did enjoy it and would't hesitate in coming back to your apartment, looking forward to meet us someday á Paris!

Owner response:thank you .. or gracias.

I was dubious about renting an apartment rather than staying in a hotel but that's a thing of the past. This apartment is so spacious, beautifully maintained and welcoming that there were days we found it hard to leave. The owner was always available via email or phone and did everything she could to make our stay special. Her helpers were so pleasant and did everything they could for us. My wife wanted to steal them after she saw how beautifully they ironed our clothes. The kitchen is a chef's dream. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable and the ability to spread out was an incredible luxury. We loved having breakfasts "at home" and being able to have a bottle of wine before we went out to dinner. Some nights, we'd pick up an incredible meal at Au Bon Marche and simply enjoy the day. Would we return? The answer is yes -- it's a question of when and we would want to stay longer. This apartment is so calm but located so close to the Luxenbourg Garden and the "hot" spots of Bv. Montparnasse. We walked everywhere. And when we didn't, we had the choice of numerous metros, buses and cabs. We couldn't have asked for more.

How fortunate I was to notice a little blurb about this apartment in a daily email of discoveries around the world just when I was trying to make a decision about accommodations in Paris for a week in late October. A quiet apartment of decent size in an attractive neighborhood, with telephone and computer service not just available but included. A kitchen of a size that invited just sitting around the kitchen table to relax at the end of a long day filled with activity. Unobtrusive but dependable help in keeping everything tidy and in order. Plenty of reading material to encourage getting the best out of a relatively short stay in the city. This apartment is certainly a treasure for those who desire to immerse themselves in the life of the city and its work-a-day inhabitants, far enough from the most frequented sights to allow one to believe one is not really a tourist but not so far that one can't make efficient use of the time available to enjoy seeing the things one has to that point only read about and imagined.

For someone like me who spends his time and earns his living observing life in the streets of great cities, Mme. Fawcett's apartment is ideal. Aside from the obvious amenities (maid service, washer/dryer, excellent kitchen, free phone calls to the States, WiFi, and a PC on which I am writing this review ) and the comforts of a large, well furnished apartment, the apartment is near the Métro (Lines 4 and 12), several handy bus lines, and in walking distance of Montparnasse, St. Germain, Denfert-Rochereau, and even the Île de la Cité, famous cafés like Le Sélect and La Rotonde, many first-rate restaurants (and quite a few decent cheap ones), Le Luco, and Eric Kayser, and artisanal bakery and one of the best in Western Europe. Considering the cost of an equivalent hotel room, this apartment is a terrific buy—even for one person. At the end of the day, if you are like me, you are more likely to say, "Time to go home," than to say, "Let's go back to the room." What more could you ask?

Comment Text: In the more than 30 years that I have traveled to France to study, to vacation with family, and to lead tour groups, I have never experienced finer accommodations than those provided by Karen Fawcett. Everything about her apartment at 2, rue Joseph Bara is "haut de gamme", starting with its remarkable proximity to the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris' loveliest arrondissement (6e) and to some safe and convenient public transportation - bus, motorcycle and metro. Karen is as astute as she is gracious. She has anticipated the traveler's every need and has provided every comfort and convenience to make a visit to Paris a personalized insider’s experience. Ours was unforgettable. The amenities include: a spacious, elegantly-decorated, well- laid- out apartment; a royal welcome (champagne, fresh fruit, goodies and breakfast items); super, professionally-outfitted kitchen; state of the art appliances - washer, dryer, computer with internet access; painless, free telephone service in France and transatlantic and… the best shower in Europe (nirvana after a long day’s excursions.) Karen provides a complete and easy reference guide that explains how everything functions in the apartment, gives emergency numbers, suggests good restaurants, etc. Two discreet, yet helpful, housekeepers provide daily tidying up and answers to questions whenever one phones them. This is the ultimate Paris vacation spot. Proof - it is almost impossible to leave it.

This apartment is beautiful. Well located next to the Jardin du Luxemburg. The double sejour is lovely, the balcony is a bonus and the large American type kitchen is a rarity in Paris. Lovely building, very quiet and peaceful. It made our visit spectacular!

Our original Paris apartment arrangements fell through two weeks before our flight. We scrambled to find a suitable apt. and found Karen's. We feel extremely fortunate. The living room is sun-drenched, and separate enough from the bedrooms so that early risers can have some solitude while enjoying their morning coffee. The street in front is very quiet, and at the end of the block is an extremely convenient, small grocery with great values on good wine. There is an elevator that proved very useful in ferrying luggage to the apartment. And more than once, at the end of a long day of walking through Paris, did a nice job ferrying passengers as well. Wireless internet access and the free US phone line were definite plusses. The apt. is well appointed, and well cared for. Riza and Jenny were discrete, professional and personable. They did a nice job of tidying up and even did laundry for us. The location is fantastic. In the 6th, two blocks from the bus line, 3-4 from the Metro. On nice days, we walked through Luxembourg Gardens to the bus stop. No shortage of great restaurants, filled with locals, not tourists. We would highly recommend this apartment. Staying here has convinced us to make renting an apt., rather than a hotel room, the preferred option when visiting for a week.

I've had the pleasure of staying in this lovely apartment on more than one occasion. It's beautifully designed and outfitted more as a hotel than an apartment that offers only the most essential amenities. The photos do not do the apartment justice. It's filled with sunshine and it's rare if you hear any noise from within or outside of the apartment. The housekeepers appear to always be on-call and are gracious and willing. They've done my laundry and beautifully ironed my shirts. In this day of the weak dollar, staying in an apartment makes enormous sense. Hotel breakfasts alone can break the bank. I got into the habit of inviting people for champagne before dinner before going to one of the area's many excellent restaurants. I work when I'm in Paris so I don't want to have to vacuum and clean — not to mention changing sheets and towels. Karen's housekeepers do it all. The owner is available by phone -- and goes all out to make people's stays memorable. It's not a question of if I will return to this apartment. It's simply when. This apartment is an ideal environment for someone who's on vacation and others who need to work. The US tie-line is a real plus in addition to the new computer and being able to connect via a fast WiFi connect. ...And the location is perfect.

DUCK for THANKSGIVING. We did a totally wonderful thing and broke with tradition this year. We spent Thanksgiving in Paris with our two sons (15 and 11). It was an absolute blast, and a big part of the reason why was Karen's apartment. Karen's apartment is just as wonderful as it's described. Elegant yet cozy. Spacious and quiet. Just steps from the Luxembourg Gardens. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Our friends, who were staying in a much noisier part of the 6th were so jealous when they saw Karen's place. It was a joy to come home to after long walks throughout the city. Riza and Jenny were extremely kind and helpful and keep the place tip top. After looking at literally dozens of places online, we settled on Karen's apartment, and it was a wonderful choice. Much homier and roomier than a hotel. It's a great base from which to explore and enjoy this beautiful city. We cannot wait to return. Thank you, Karen, for sharing your home with us. Cheers, Jonathan + Linda

Your apartment was so much better then I expected and the girls Riza and Jenny are the best.Riza was so helpful with showing us the neighborhood where to shop , where to bank, and most important the wine store. My freind Perla made fast freinds with Riza, they exchanged numbers and e-mail, I am sure they will keep in touch. We found some wonderful restaurants in your neighborhood one especially Il Barone, nice Italian restaurant and our waiter was from the same village outside of naples that John is from, the waiter was very homesick and was so happy to be able to speak his dialect with John. He kept bringing us food to try. LOL!!!! I can understand why you love Paris!!! It is such a beautiful mix of old and new. And to my surprise the people are as wonderful as the city it self. I had the opputunity to take a wonderful cooking class in Montmarte with Eric his business is called Cooking with Class. It was so much fun. You have a wonderful apartment in a perfect location!!!!

You enter Karen's apartment thru an elegant foyer, and theres a sumptous feeling of space and I should add that its very very quiet. In the time we stayed we never encountered any outside noise; a rarity among rental apartments. A living room thats larger than most hotel rooms you stayed in. then theres a shower and separate bath. Both bedrooms have quality furniture, tvs plus dvd's & vcr's and have the look of a top interior designer. And the kitchen is fully equipped with enough dinnerware for a small army. Enough why would you cook there because a five minute walk gets you to Blvd Montparnasse (a Metro stop is right there) with all kinds of places to dine from Le Coupole, Bistrot Dome, amazing fish restaurants and on the side streets a polyglot assortment of ethnic restaurants which are not only good to eat in but are gentle on your wallet. On Sundays you can wander over to the Blvd Raspail and find an organic maket over a couple of blocks long where you can take back to the apt. fresh pates, numerous cheese stalls with chesses you never before knew about plus a number of stalls with a mouthwatering breads, baguettes and you name and they will have it. In the apt you have a computer, fax and a free phone to call back to the US to chortle to your friends about this amazing apartment. Forgive me for not mentioning Jenny & Riza two darling Filipinos who live upstairs and come in six days a week and clean the apartment wash the linens and who are superb about sorting out questions about the various electrical appliances including tv's dvd's and vcr. My wife and I have traveled Europe for almost thity years and rented apt's in Paris and other European cities and this is the first one we have stayed in where we had no quibbles or problems. Cant wait to return.

We are now in the last week of a 3 month sabatical in Paris. We began organizing this adventure 18 months ago by visiting Paris twice to look at potential apartments. We visited 12 in total and viewed another 25 or so on the web. Nothing we saw compared with Karen's place. It starts with location, location ,location. Here we are on a wonderfully quiet, pretty street but within an easy walk to the buzziest parts of town, not to mention, 4 convenient Metro stations. The easy access to Jardin Luxembourg is a huge asset. Door to door and around the garden's periphery is a wonderful 2 mile way to start the day. Of all the apartments that we visited, none had 2 modern, useable bathrooms like this one. The livingroom is a dream. Best of all is the fabulously friendly and competent assistance of Karen and her 2 on site helpers. This place is a joy!!

Staying at this apartment was a highlight of my trip to Paris. The apt. was located on the Left Bank near the Latin Quater--a great area. It is walking distance from the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Arch de Triumphe, not to mention all of the great Brasseries on the Left Bank. The apt. is well appointed, beautifully decorated and meticulous. The maid service was a great addition. If you want any additional information about this apt., please contact me. I cannot emphasize how great a find this is!

Talk about the best of both worlds! All of the sites are extremely accessable, yet Karen's apartment is surrounded by a relaxed residential environment making it very quiet. The interior is very spacious with plenty of room to stretch out after a full day of enjoying all that Paris has to offer. We look forward to staying in her apartment again sometime in the future.

The location is the best in Paris in our view and we love the nice quiet neighborhood located just steps from Jardin du Luxembourg. The apartment has every convenience, including wireless internet service and a VoIP phone. The housekeepers are the best and do everything they can to make your stay extra special. We will be back (again!)

A Belated "thumbs up" on this lovely apartment. My husband and I stayed here in May 2005 for our 15th anniversay. Karen was wonderful in helping us arrange the accommodations. It was spacious and lovely. The internet and phone made it easy to maintain contact with work and home. The location was superb. We experienced "living" in Paris. My daily jaunts to the local patisserie made our breakfast memorable. The bottle of champagne and assorted fruits, ham and cheese made for a lovely celebration. We highly recommend this apartment. We would love to stay here again in the future (if it is available)!

What a delightful apartment. There's a balcony and classic, handsome front room--wonderfully proportioned and loaded with terrific art books and TV. Once through the foyer with its large leaded glass window, is the modern part of the apartment with every amenity one could want. Shower and bath are perfect. The two sleeping rooms (master br and den) are spacious and well-lit--designed for people who read and who love looking out the windows. The beds are most comfortable. Plenty of closet and drawer space. The kitchen's perfect for those who love to cook; clearly a lot of thought went into its design. You won't need to bring any guide books--there are bookcases of books on Paris, loads of fiction and non-fiction too. The housekeepers were gracious and very helpful. We loved neighborhood. The RER, Metro and buses are minutes away but walking everywhere was what we enjoyed most. Oh and then there is Karen. She's smart, a terrific communicator and very knowledgeable about Paris. Thanks to Karen and her wonderful apartment this was our favorite trip to Paris.

I was recently lucky enough to stay at this apartment and loved every aspect of it. The space was glorious and there was plenty of room for the three of us. We could spend time together and/or apart. Compared to the cost of two rooms at a three * hotel, we came out financially far far ahead. Some evenings, we'd stop at the grocery store at the Bon Marche and eat dinner "at home." Karen's courtesy was so hospitable. Her housekeepers were more than accommodating. She had groceries waiting for us and even made some restaurant reservations. Would we return? The question is: when? I can't rave enough .

The images on the net whetted our appetite but the reality exceeded expectations. The light was soft and cool in the bright summer of Paris 05. The location was so left bank and validated the decision to stay with in easy reach of gardens, restaurants, palaces, museums, universities, shops and all the motion and activity that makes Paris so special. We walked everywhere. Two couples and a visiting adult offspring were magnificently accommodated highlighted by many meals cooked at home and washed down by lashings of local wine. Where did those wonderful maids take all those bottles? Those Australians!!!!! Karen’s eye for detail and service was incredible and what a secret treasure was her wonderful library. P.S. Comfortable beds. Pleasant inside on a hot day. Plenty of room. Heaps of dining out options nearby. No worries mate, we’ll be back. Gary and Wendy, Patrick, Robyn and Erin, Brisbane Australia.

This is an amazing apartment right in the heart of Montparnasse and St. Germain on a lovely little street that is a joy to come home to day or night. Let me see, what were my favorite things... I loved waking up in my favorite neighborhood and going for a run in Les Jardins Luxembourg. I think Maria Medici got it right when she built those gardens and that Chateau and it still towers over the arrondisement with an incredible beauty in all seasons. It was wonderful for me to make a quick walk to the metro at Notre Dame des Champs to go anywhere I wanted in Paris. The light from the balcony in the summer evenings is fantastic - that high, thin light that you only see in Northern Europe flooding the classic buildings. Food shopping was convenient - either the quick ( inexpensive!) shop at the end of the street or a longer walk to Monoprix or the department stores in Montparnasse - nothing was terribly far. The apartment has a wonderful first bedroom and then an office with a murphy bed for visitors. It's important for business travellers, and I was one on this trip. It's impossible to over emphasize how incredible it is to have internet anytime in Paris - not so easy to find and crucial to me. The living room is elegant and cozy at the same time - I had Parisian friends for champagne one night and they loved the place. Finally the owners do make sure your stay is well cared for - maid service ( in the event even the local store is inconvenient they will shop for you) cleaning and a beautifully appointed kitchen. and shopping in the stores of St. Germain...as much as you want.. or the museums of the left bank...or my favorite cafe on Rue Vaugirard ..or the restaurant on Boulevard Raspail...

The daily maid service was fantastic, and the young ladies were very pleasant. I would recommend this apartment to anyone and we plan to stay at the apartment when we get back to Paris!

This lovely apartment is an oasis of space and elegance—the perfect way to feel at home in Paris. We loved sitting on the balcony, gazing out at the view, sipping wine and nibbling great food and cheese. We can’t emphasize enough how wonderful it is to have a fully-equipped kitchen with a large fridge, which allowed us to indulge in foods at markets and grocery stores. Also, the maids were simply terrific – they kept the apartment cleaned daily and did our laundry whenever needed so we always had the “right thing to wear.” The phone connection to the US and full internet service was invaluable. Karen is a fabulous and conscientious hostess, who made us feel completely welcome.

If you are doing an apartment search as I was a couple months back you are probably looking at pictures of this apartment, reading the description and wondering - is it really that nice? Worth the money? My answer is an emphatic YES. This apartment is a dream come true. Believe me, pictures and words do not do it justice. You have to experience it. When we opened the doors and stepped into the foyer there was a collective gasp.It was beautiful! We scattered like children checking out the rooms we had seen in the pictures. They surpassed all our expectations. My favorite spot was the living room. I would snuggle up on the soft, comfortable sectional, my head propped on a pillow, legs covered with throw. I would be pouring over travel books from Karen's well stocked bookshelves. Music from a fabulous jazz station would be playing in the background. The french windows would be open to let in light and sounds of the neighborhood. My travel companions would be lounging as well. The room was so spacious that we had no trouble finding "our" niche to relax in. If I wasn't in the living room chances are I would be soaking in "my" tub in the second bathroom. What a treat after a day of sightseeing! This bathroom does not have a toilet which made it a perfect retreat. You could linger forever without fear of someone needing to use the facility. Karen even provided a little basket of toiletries for the bath. Heaven. The kitchen was another inviting gathering spot. We would set up drinks, snacks and wonderful treats from the neighborhood bakery on the island. We would wander in ond out, helping ourselves. A couple of mornings I scrambled some eggs before heading out. Once I made them for a late night snack. The appliances are brand new and the space is easy to work in. It was a pleasure having a refrigerator to raid and a dishwasher to hid dishes in. Which leads me to another wonderful feature - daily maid service. Jenny would come in and tidy up so we were free to walk out the door without a care. Worth every penny - oops-euro! We were spoiled. I know my travel partners would have wonderful things to write about this apartment as well. One of them found the apartment so comfortable that on a few afternoons he opted to stay in, read and enjoy the ambience. It took a city as fabulous as Paris to lure us out of this lovely apartment. They complemented each other perfectly. So go ahead -treat yourself - you won't regret it!
