  I cannot say enough about this house, the property and the little details that made this family vacation one that will go down in history! My 2 brothers and I decided it was time for all of our kids to spend a traditional old-time family vacation together - complete with grandparents. While we were not sure how everyone would get along under such close quarters for a week, this house was the perfect ticket! First off, it is so new and contemporary, and clean. Since it comes complete with linens and bedding, we didn't have to haul anything - except pack our suitcases and shop for food. What a delight! All of the little details were there too - a coffee grinder, margarita glasses... things you would have in your own home. But one of the biggest plus factors was the layout of the house and property. The living space is on 3 floors - with multiple decks and porches, multiple TV, reading areas - so that everyone could not only enjoy each others' company when we wanted to be together, but could also find quiet space if we needed a little "alone time." The first floor entertainment room was great for the teens... there is even a full size fridge there for them to keep their drinks and snacks in. The dock behind the house was great for grandpa and the younger ones to fish off of, and feed the ducks... while everyone enjoyed the beach on "Big Sebago." Plenty of outdoor space to play on, and of course, have nightly campfires with s'mores. All in all, the house was perfect - big, beautiful, new, clean - the layout was perfect - lots of spaces both in and out of the house - and the service was perfect - no problems getting our agreement, reservation or deposit. We'll be back!

  We rented the home for a week in mid July for an extended family vacation, and were excited about the proximity to the lake, the beach, and the home looked perfect for everyone. To a large degree this was the case. We loved the house, the multiple level of decks were perfect for keeping small children in sight, we had pretty much a private beach for the week, and it was easy to find. I think it's fair to also point out some of the things that could have been done better for others: 1.) It was not as clean as it could have been. We arrived as the cleaners were working, and they stopped, probably to get out of our way, but they weren't done. We paid a fee to get a clean house, they should have finished, which meant we had to do it. 2.) We had a lot of ants in the house. I know it's the summer and ants are a fact of life, but we had to set 5 to 10 traps to get them all throughout the house and keep them away from the trash. 3.) It's been 7 weeks since we finished our vacation and we have yet to see our security deposit returned. The security deposit isn't cheap. To be fair, Alicia tried to return my check, and there were some bank problems, but that was 4 weeks ago, and hasn't returned any follow up emails. 4.) The place was advertised as fully stocked, and while we know that didn't mean with food, we had reasonable expectations of basics like TP, paper towels, etc., but we had to go out and get our own. If there is a list of things to bring, just let us know. Overall we had a very nice time, and would not discourage anyone else from renting, but just want to make others aware of some of these issues before you rent. Sometimes a growing list of little issues and annoyances detracts from the good time we all expected.

  Owner response: This is the fourth summer that we have been renting our home to families.... and we try to create a wonderful environment, in which you don't have to think about much of anything - except enjoying a leisurely vacation. I believe our other reviews attest to that fact. Unfortunately, anything and everything that could be an annoyance occurred during Bob's family's visit. 1) The cleaning crew was running late because of illness on the staff - and were not completely ready when the guests arrived - a little before check-in time. Instead of making the guests wait in the driveway, after a long drive, they left linens for the guests to make their own beds. 2) It was the beginning of the summer, and we had used the house the week before. There were, as often happens in early summer, a lot of carpenter ants. Terminix came the week prior to these guests, and did a thorough spraying while we were there. Unfortunately, as anyone with ant control issues knows, that caused the ants to really come out during the time these guests were at the house. They were then gone for the rest of the summer! 3) We are all squared away on the deposit. As the guest mentions, there were documented problems with our bank's automatic checking system - causing a very long delay in actually getting a check to the guest at the correct location. I have confirmed that the guest has, indeed, received his deposit check back, and has deposited it in his account. 4) We try to provide the necessities in the house - including linens and towels, a fully stocked kitchen for cooking necessities, including spices, all pots and pans, dishes, silverware, small appliances, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, and starter paper towels, trash bags and toilet paper. We do not supply enough paper products to supply 16 people for a week - the amount of paper for each family can be staggering. We appreciate constructive comments - and in general, I believe the family was not disappointed with our home and amenities overall. Unfortunately, as the guest says, there were a few things that did happen that added up to taint the memories of their visit. The length of time to receive their deposit check put them over the edge, which I believe prompted this "OK" review. In general, we really try hard to make an effortless vacation for our guests!

  We just returned from an awesome family vacation at this Sebago Lake property. My children and grandchildren came from all over and had a great week at the beach, using the paddle boat, having looong wiffleball events and eating s'more's by the campfire. The house is well planned and laid out and we loved the huge deck..... even when it rained at night we could move the tables under the roof and eat outside. My only regret is that the vacation is over! I would highly recommend renting this house.

  Our extended family stayed at this home for two weeks in August 2009. It was delightful in every way. The house is so roomy that our three families had adequate private and together time. The lake was the highlight of the trip: clean and beautiful for swimming, boating, peddling, rowing, and an absolutely bucolic stroll from the house. The location is near to Portland, Maine, a charming city with a great art museum and the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, not to mention great food; and it's a walking city so you can work off the lobster you've eaten! The owners provided a booklet with ideas, and were really helpful in terms of making everything at the house accessible. I highly recommend this for a Maine lakehouse experience.

  We had a wonderful time at this beautiful vacation home. It is ideal for 2 or 3 families. The 2 complete kitchens are awesome -- it felt as though our teenage children had their own vacation spot (but could be visited ad lib). The entire house is brand new and spectacular. The large decks, which surround the house and overlook the woods made our family BBQs feel so relaxed (new grill located on porch)! The kids LOVED the canoe and paddleboat and all of our children (ages 11 through 24) had a great time. If you go, the best way to get around and see the beaches is by boat -- you can rent a motorboat right down the street but the rental cost is high.

  This home is absolutely gorgeous! It is clear that the owners renovated with function in mind. 10 of us came for a mini-grad school reunion, and we could not have had a better time! The house is spacious and there is plenty of community space. The canoe and paddle boat were easy to get to and use, and the yard is big enough for soccer, frisbee, etc. We found great running trails. The grill was a huge hit, and having two kitchens turned out to be a lifesaver. We never had to go to the grocery store! As for communicating with the owners, they could not have been nicer. They responded to every email within a few hours (sometimes literally minutes), and even when I had a mundane question while we were at the house, Alicia got back to me immediately. They were also very quick to return the security deposit, which was much appreciated. All in all, this could not have been a more positive experience. I hope to get back soon, and I would recommend it to anyone.

  I cannot say enough good things about this house. We had 15 people and there was more than enough room for everybody to have there own space. Took a few fishing trips out on the lake, had some great BBQ's, relaxed on the deck and even watched a few Red Sox games on the HD TV. Perfect place if you have a big group and want relaxation. Everything you will need for your stay is at the house so just pack up your clothes and head to sebago!

  We stayed last July with 2 families that included 4 teens, an 8 and a 2 year old. The house is gorgeous. Sebago is a big lake and having a protected cove to dock the boat was a huge advantage over other rentals. The location is on the southern end of the lake which gave it great proximity to the coast if you want to hit restaurants or take an ocean break from the lake. The house layout was perfect for us, at night or inclement weather the kids had the downstairs living room to watch movies or play video games on the widescreen while the parents lounged in the upstairs living room. The highlight of our trip was journeying through the locks at the northern end of the lake up into Brandy Pond and ultimately Long Lake. As we rounded a corner of the river portion we were welcomed by dozens of passengers on the Steamship heading the other way. We will definitely be back.

  Our extended family had a wonderful time at this house. It is even more beautiful than the pictures portray. Everything was new and clean. The house is large enough for a large group, without everyone getting in each others' way. It is nicely laid out on 3 floors to give space and privacy. My son brought his boat, which we kept at the dock. The kids had a great time on it, and we spent most of the day on the water. The beach and dock are a few minutes walk from the house. If we had alot of gear to bring, one of us would drop it off with the car and drive back. Not a problem. We also enjoyed fishing from the canoe and paddleboat that are provided. This house provided a great place for the family to spend a week together, and to build memories for our kids of vacationing at the lake. Their opinion? "This house rocks!" Close to other attractions, too.

  This was one of the best valued vacations our family has done! My parents, sisters, and all of our children stayed at this *gorgeous* home for a week in June. Everything is brand new, and so tastefully decorated. It looks like a home from a magazine. It was so convenient not to have to bring sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, beach chairs, etc. The house was so well stocked with everything we needed for a perfect vacation. The kids really enjoyed the entertainment room with the flatscreen TV, and all of the puzzles and books, especially on the couple of days that we had rain. The location was great, too. The property is very large, and has a nice grass yard as well as some woods. There is a firepit for campfires at night. It is very private. Both adults and teens enjoyed the peddleboat and canoe that are in the backyard - right on the canal. The private beach is a 5 minute walk away. It was lovely, with a picnic table and room for the younger kids to play. The huge decks and beautiful outdoor furniture and grill also make a great outdoor entertaining spot for those who liked to just kick back and cook, and enjoy a few cocktails. It is also close to many attractions in Maine, and makes a good central point for those who want to do day trips. We visited old town Portland, and one family went to Mt. Washington. With a large group, it is hard to find a place to please everybody. That's what we liked so much about this house - there is something for everyone! We look forward to going back.
