Our 3-unit townhouse is perfectly situated on a quiet residential street yet just around the corner from Brooklyn's hippest new neighborhood: Williamsburg. The area is packed with cute restaurants and bars, from Peruvian steak houses to French bistros and even a German beer & barbecue. The neighborhood is also a magnet for young people moving to the city and an influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture, and the local art community.
We are amazingly close to downtown Manhattan, Times Square, Soho and Tribeca via the popular L TRAIN subway line that's just a 1-minute walk from the townhouse and then a 5 minute ride into Manhattan. We're at the LORIMER stop.
This apartment is on the third floor of the building with a private entrance. The living room is comfortable with all new furniture and two northern windows overlooking the private courtyard and carriage house behind the home. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything from wine glasses and coffee mugs to silverware, china, coffee maker and cookware so you should feel right at home.
The apartment can accommodate up to five guests: The bedroom has a queen bed which sleeps 2. There is a cozy little second bedroom, or 'den' off the main bedroom with bunk beds, a south facing window and privacy door for another guest.
There is also a self-inflating queen-size AeroBed that sleeps two and comes with sheets, bedding and pillows. Its built-in pump inflates in just 1 minute and deflates just as quickly. While this isn't a traditional mattress is is quite comfortable for extra guests, and can be easily set up in the living room.
The entire apartment has brand new furnishings, linens and kitchen equipment and is a perfect home base for your trip to New York City.
NOTE: We do have three rentals in this same townhouse if this one is booked. Check out Listing #318560 to see our Garden Apartment and Listing #321592 for our Parlor Apartment.

4 nights safe accommodation in NY for family

Nice location. Close to subway. Nice and obviously safe neighbourhood. Interior and furniture are quite fancy but ageing. The house is historic and has a cosy atmosphere. Apt. needs renovation (owner was fair enough and has warned us after booking and offered free cancellation). Due to nearby expressway the apt. is somewhat noisy. Listing description is accurate, except the price information is not up-to-date anymore. We enjoyed the free internet. Communication with owner by email prior to arrival was prompt and easy.

Owner response: Thanks for the review. I have to disagree with the noise comment, however. We live on the property and I can attest that the noise from the expressway is not audible inside the apartment. This is evidenced by the fact that until today we have never had a guest mention noise in any review of our three apartments in the three years we have lived here. You can hear the expressway in the background with the windows opened. Having lived for 15 years in Manhattan I can tell you that our block in Williamsburg is MUCH quieter than anywhere on the island. These guests are from a small town in Germany.

Stay in Brooklyn
This was a great place to stay to easily explore NYC and Brooklyn. The this was a very well located apartment with stores, restaurants and transportation very near by. The rooms look just like the pictures and everything was clean and tidy. The owners were easy to communicate with and attentive to our needs. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for helping us have an enjoyable stay.

Five Stars out of Five I have to say that my stay in the Williamsburg apartment exceeded my expectations. The directions and access information which I received by email before arrival were excellent and I had no trouble obtaining the keys. The top floor apartment where I stayed consisted of large lounge/living space, a kitchen and bathroom at the back, a large bedroom at the front of the house with an adjoining smaller bedroom. The photos on the website are good, but it looks even better in reality. First impressions were great: spotlessly clean, quiet and secure, well organised kitchen, plenty space, hardwood floors. Every piece of equipment and utensils for modern living were available. Cooking utensils, cutlery, good selection of dishes, glasses, pots and pans. Cooker, immaculate fridge, kettle, dining bar, storage space, ironing board and iron - basically a home from home. Soap, shampoo, washing liquid, toilet tissue and other products thoughtfully provided. Electrical equipment, TV/Cable/DVD/WiFi/Vacuum cleaner, all worked perfectly during my month's stay. Particularly useful was the blow up double bed which I used for guests at one point - very comfortable. (There was plenty extra bedding too) Sean and Brad lived nearby and were easily accessible through email/phone if there was anything needed. They had left a great selection of information on local amenities which was very useful on arrival. The street itself is quiet, tree-lined, 'old-style' Brooklyn. It was my first stay in the Borough and I took to Williamsburg right away. The Subway is right round the corner barely a minute's walk (ten minutes into Union Square Manhattan), and there is every kind of shop you would need within a stone's throw. The streets between the apartment and the East River contain innumerable bars restaurants and shops of all ethnicities. You will never be bored. I went many long walks exploring the area, day and night, and never had any problems. I would recommend the apartment and loved that part of Brooklyn. Will definitely return soon. PS....Bamonte's restaurant, a few streets away, was a favourite of mine. It was used in 'The Soprano's' ;-)

I stayed here with another adult and 3 full sized teenage boys. We were all comfortable and made to feel at home. We all fell in love with the neighborhood and decided that we were glad we ended up here instead of Manhattan. The main draw back was that we were there during a heat wave (100 degrees) and being on the third floor was a little toasty. There are only two window units so we had to leave the doors open for air flow. Other than that, the beds are comfortable and we would stay here again. Next time we hope it will be cooler.

Perfect base to explore NYC

My sister and I spent 9 nights in Sean and Brad's comfortable apartment. Sean met us on arrival and provided us with some local tips and made us feel very welcome. We very quickly felt at home and safe in the neighbourhood, which had most things we needed within minutes, including an easy subway ride on the nearby L train and a great comic shop. We have vegetarian and gluten free dietary requirements and found lots of food options, especially at the Sunac Food Market. The apartment is well furnished, very clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again and will recommend the apartment to friends.

We're a family of four and we stayed in that flat in august. We found it very nice and clean, there were lots of useful things in the kitchen, there was the wi-fi free connection, that was very useful for us! The subway station was just nearby and there were lots of shops and facilities. Sean and Brad, the owners, were so kind and nice with us! it was a really good vacation in NY.

This apartment was exactly as pictured and described. Clean, comfortable and attractive. Staying in Williamsburg was a good idea- it was a good home base after a day in Manhattan, which is so easy to get to on the Ltrain. We tried lots of the local restaurants- "Yolas"-(Mexican cheapy, just around the corner) was a fave and also "Rosarito" Fish Shack, a few blocks West was a great night out. The Williamsburg Flea Markets, on the waterfront, were great, allsorts of stuff, from junk to antique prints. And Sunac supermarket ,round the corner, has everything you'll need to stock the kitchen. Sean and Brad were helpful and friendly and the whole business was straight-forward. Most importantly, what you see on the website is what you get! Definitely recommend it!

Excellent rental in NY
Excellent rental in NY
We had booked the Williamsburg apt during the week before the hurricane in August. The booking process had gone smooth. The apt. was exactly how it was described, or even better! It is in a beautiful building in an lovely neighborhood, where people sit in front of their houses, greeting you, while you walk by. It is very quiet, which we loved after sightseeing for the whole day. The apt. was very clean and the photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance. We felt welcome and appreciated the many recommendations about neighborhood restaurants and cafes. Then the news of the hurricane hit! The owners were extremely helpful and brought umbrellas, flashlights, and candles. They posted the newest information at the door. We had to extend our stay, since our flight was cancelled. We were able to move into the apt. below us, which was also very clean and nice. We really felt taken care of! I highly recommend this rental, and when I return to NY I will stay there again!

Great apartment - well located and equipped, pleasant, quiet even in this lively quarter - and very nice owners. We chose to stay in a vacation rental because i wanted my kids to experience living in a neighbourhood in New York. It was cute, clean and neat. right around the corner from nice grocery stores and mini market, just across the L train entrance. We were 6 but it fitted our needs, late dinner after all day outside touristing.... It was a bit hot inside the apartment, even with AC as it gets quite noisy to be turn on all night. But, in fact, New York is really hot and humid in August, not the best time to visit. Besides that, Williamsburg is the place to stay, especially with teenagers!

Our favorite local bistro as reviewed by New York Magazine: Casual, cheap, and very young, this Williamsburg hangout impresses with hearty portions of tamarind-braised short ribs, and macaroni and cheese with a lot going on including white Cheddar, Parmesan, and Gruyre, plus an optional smattering of lardons....MoreCollapse
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: My partner and I both work in Manhattan and take the L Train in every day. I'm a television producer, my partner is in a Broadway musical every night, and our daughter attends 4th grade in the city. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and my partner is from Melbourne, Australia so we have LOTS of family and friends visiting us all year round who now stay in our rental apartment and use it as their home-away-from-home. We love helping them find their way around the city and will gladly offer you a few suggestions about NYC as well.
Why the Owner Chose Brooklyn:
We bought this townhouse in 2010 after living in the middle of Manhattan for 16 years and have fallen in love with our new neighborhood. Our previous neighborhood was very old-school residential with massive apartment buildings, while Williamsburg is filled with 3-story townhouses like ours where the neighbors all sit on the front steps and enjoy the street life. The huge influx of artists and young people who recently 'found' the neighborhood because of it's close proximity to Manhattan and relatively inexpensive housing make for a VERY interesting mix on the street and we love it.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
What's great about staying in Williamsburg is the EASY access to all the major sites around NYC: Union Square Shopping and Farmers' market, Times Square, Broadway, Macy's, the Empire State Building, all the museums, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. But what's really enjoyable and a real delight are the VERY walkable streets around us packed with both the old-world shops (the perfect cappuccino at Setti Pani bakery) side-by-side with the new art galleries, trendy clothing stores and fun finds (graphic comics books from around the world at Sparacino's). Dont leave W'burg without trying breakfast at House of Small Wonders - just around the corner on Skillman. Extra Queen size inflatable Aero Bed in all apartments.
