Cotuit house description
Private home nestled on 3 1/2 wooded acres in Cotuit within walking distance of A lovely beach. Ideal for fun-filled family vacations!
This Cotuit property was built with family gatherings in mind. It is a two-story house that has five bedrooms (two upstairs and three down) with enough space to sleep between 10 and 12 people - linens and pillows included. Additionally, each floor has its own complete bathroom stocked with plenty of towels. Clothes can be washed and dried in the laundry room just off the family/play room.
With two separate floors, some can play games and watch movies in the family/playroom which has access to an open outdoor deck located on the lower level. Others can gather in the upstairs living room around the wood-burning fireplace. On the upper level, family mealtime can be enjoyed at the large dining room table that sits right off the fully-equipped, newly remodeled kitchen. The picnic table on the second story screened-in porch can be used for casual, relaxed dining, or this space also serves as a great place to sit, read or nap in the natural light and cool breezes.
While this house is situated "off-the beaten path," the town of Cotuit is just a five-minute drive down the road. Here you can buy groceries, get a cup of coffee, pick up the paper or grab an ice cream cone.
Consider this destination to be your next home away from home!

And a good time was had by all.
And a good time was had by all.
Thankfully this Cotuit property turned out to be exactly what had been described and exactly what we wanted. The online description and pictures simply became the reality, there really were no surprises except that the protrayal was so accurate. If anything both the common rooms and the bedrooms seemed even larger than anticipated, a nice surprise. We arrived to find a well cleaned and ready for occupancy vacation home. We were contacted by the local caretaker and felt quite secure in the knowledge that there was someone nearby should we have questions or need assistance. He was the completion of the ongoing help that had been pleasantly offered by the owner throughout the process. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place for a family gathering who also enjoys a quiet, wooded setting. When comparing prices to other properties that sleep 10-12 on the Cape this property was an easy winner but nothing was really sacrificed except perhaps glitz. This is a simple house meant for people more interested in enjoying one another's company than in an upscale decor. You can walk to the beach or get dropped off at the entrance. Either way you will find Oregon beach offers a secluded setting, a long stretch of beach for walks and water that is warm and shallow with no undertow. For those who like larger waves or a "big beach" setting, Craigville Beach is about 15 minutes away, and one of the top beaches on the Cape. We enjoyed the quaintness and history of the town of Cotuit but we also liked the fact that you could attend a Cape Cod League baseball game right in town. For sports fans a must! Being equidistant from Falmouth and Hyannis means you can take your pick between two centers filled with all manner of tourist attractions and distractions. We enjoyed visiting Woods Hole and its seaquarium where there are lots of hands on things that engage kids. Mashpee Commons was a nice option on a cool day or after a morning at the beach. Ice cream at the Polar Cave, mini-golf in Hyannis, exploring New Seabury all were within relatively easy reach of our cottage. No property ( no one's private home) is without flaws but honestly if there were flaws at this Cotuit property they went largely unnoticed because we were too busy having a wonderful vacation at a site perfectly matched to our interests, our needs and our pocketbook. And a good time was had by all!
