Beautifully updated lakeside cabin. Very comfortable. Great updated bathroom. We made full use of both the deck and the screened porch (on a rainy day). The stairs are a bit steep but nothing we couldn't handle. Loved having a full-size washer/dryer. Almost wished we'd had cooler weather so we could use the fireplaces (especially the one in the master bedroom!)Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

Had a wonderful time. Everything was as described and advertised - no surprises. The owner was extremely helpful and considerate of our privacy and comfort. We've spent alot of time on Big St. Germain Lake and this was an excellent introduction to Little St. Germain Lake. Most everything had that 'new' feeling; was very clean and updated. Loved having a washer/dryer to use. Easily would go there again just to have the view, the quiet, and the camp fires at night.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

This tastefully remodeled home sits in the trees on the Little St. Germain. The location is quiet and peaceful yet only minutes into town. The photos accurately reflect the cottage's charm. The home is clean and well-maintained. The owner Scott, is friendly and helpful. The fishing is plentiful off the dock-lots of sunfish, bluegill, and yellow perch. I traveled with my husband and daughters who are 12 & 8. I highly recommend horseback riding and go-carts at Elmers in St. Germain, Wildwood Wildlife Park (best animal experience ever) and Settlers Mill mini-golf in Minocqua. The U.P. is close by with beautiful hiking and scenic waterfalls. Bond Falls is quite picturesque. Porcupine Mountains on Lake Superior is another fun adventure-plan a full day there. Overall, a wonderful experience with plenty of family time in an ideal setting with attractions within a reasonable driving distance.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

I spent many years with a lake home of our own and when it came time for my family to sell it and when I had my own children, we needed a place to return to at least one week every summer. We tried others sight unseen, but the owner's testimony, quality photos and location gave us confidence that we found the right place. Our two young children enjoyed our one-day rental of the pontoon, we took our kayak to the nearby island a few times for some sandbar swimming, we biked every morning into town for our groceries and we drove a few times to nearby Crystal Lake for some of the best beach time and swimming that you can find in the Northwoods. Deer greeted us most mornings at the end of the driveway and the bald eagles were fishing along with us off the end of the dock. The amenities in this cabin are just enough to stay connected with the outside world and to accompany you on rainy days, but not so much that you spend all your time indoors. The cabin is always very clean, the rules are very reasonable and it is clear the owner takes great care of the place and his guests. We have found a place to return to year after year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our family of four stayed at this adorable cabin on lovely Little St. Germain lake. The cabin is nicely finished and the furnishings are tasteful and perfect for the northwoods. It is clean, cozy and cute! We rented the on-site pontoon and enjoyed a wonderful summer day on the water. The views on this property are lovely. From the cabin's deck, a majestic eagle soared directly above us. At night, millions of stars lit up the sky. The surroundings are private and quiet, despite the fact that the cabin is only a short distance to town. This cabin greatly exceeded our expectations - we look forward to returning!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

What a wonderful place to stay . This house is so fresh and new inside you just like to stay inside. When you are in the family room all the windows have a beautiful view of the lake or if you go to the lower level all the windows over look the lake. The house is decorated with a very up north warm cabin feeling. The lake frontage with its landscaping is the best in the area . The entire frontage by the waters edge has beautiful flat stone and a firepit you can enjoy . The fishing was great if it was from your boat or your chair by the firepit. What a wonderful time it was. We have rented many homes on water and this is the best one . We will for sure be back and will tell all our friends of this perfect vacation rental. No one will be disapointed, EnjoyRecommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

This cabin hs been newly remodeled. All appliances are new and the cabin is very clean. There is a plasma TV in every room! Even the screened porch! That came in very handy during the rain storm, which only lasted a short time. Just a few steps down the lake. We had a great time and would not hesitate to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

Our family of four adults really enjoyed the beauty of this charming lakefront property on Little St. Germaine Lake. The home was built for the owner's family not built as a rental and this is reflected in attention to every detail. It was well-maintained and super clean. The owner was readily available and his can-do attitude made the rental process smooth. The photos reflect the cottage's appearance. There is a screened porch, a terrific deck overlooking the lake, a waterfront pier and patio. We'll be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

We chose this rental after extensive research and communicating with several owners. The property was very accurately described. We found Scott, the owner, to be extremely helpful and prompt. We were traveling with another family and Scott helped arrange the rental of the house next door for our friends. Scott walked us through the property upon our arrival. The property was beautiful and very well kept. We enjoyed our best fishing right near the property. The dockside fire pit was great. We had arranged to rent Scott’s pontoon boat and tube for the week. A few days before our arrival date, Scott let us know that there were mechanical problems with the boat. He could have just planned to refund our money and we would have been without a boat. Instead he went above and beyond to ensure we would have a boat for the week. He phoned us regularly with updates and ultimately his boat was repaired and we used it every day. Tubing and cruising Little St Germain Lake was a blast (West Bay was the best for tubing). We had two Bald Eagles soaring above us most of the time. I think they nested very close to the property. The washer/dryer were a great convenience. We had two adults and 2 children (4 & 8). The kids had a blast and so did the adults!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Had a quiet relaxing time at the cottage. Everything was as described. Very close to the shoreline. We saw lots of wildlife- eagles, deer. Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck, looking over the lake. Would recommend the cabin to others, although probably best for small families. Owner was very helpful. The property was well maintained. Would highly recommend going to eat at "The Brick" in Lake Tomahawk, as we were advised to do by the homeowner. Had an excellent meal!Recommended for: Families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: We are a family of three.
Why the Owner Chose St. Germain:
My family has vacationed and lived in the Minocqua/ St.Germain area for the last 30 years so I've always realized what a special area the 'North Woods' is. After moving away, marrying and having a child of my own, I wanted to purchase a vacation home back there for my family. In 2003 we bought this home and entirely refurbished it. With all of the hard work that went into making it what it is, it has become a special place for our family to enjoy and appreciate. In 2007, we had another vacation home opportunity present itself so we decided purchase that. In 2009, we decided to look into renting the home and have had nothing but wonderful and respectful renters. We typicially attract families of 4-5 and normally have the same families come back. All of them rave about how wonderful the home is and what great memories they have created there. We hope to have you create your own memories there as well.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of our favorite things about the property is sitting at the firepit and having campfires on the flagstone patio at the lakes edge. Another unique feature of the property is the Bald Eagles. They are always flying around and frquently seen perched in a tree directly above our deck. We also love having a cup of coffee in the morning in our screened in porch watching the sun rise come up across the pristine lake. The home is 1 mile from the Little St. Germain Lake boat landing so it is close to put your water toys in the lake.
