Tim and I are very happy to recomend Villa Delicious. We stayed for an amazing month in November 2012. Down a narrow path with walled gardens either side, up a few steps and onto a small landing to the front door. As you turn the key you can't imagine the beauty that awaits you inside. Shoes off. you step onto the cool marble floor, an outstanding feature of the villa. Your eyes refreshed from the heat of the day by the many cool shades of teal and green. The large one bedroom villa is surrounded by lotus ponds, tropical gardens and your own tiny rice field. We were lucky to see the emerald green rice, a week after we arrived it was harvested then the stalks burnt and the field flooded. We watched for hours the wading birds, brightly coloured butterflies and then the comical ducks moved in. If you can drag yourself off the day bed there are plenty of things to do in Ubud. Lots of day spas, yoga studios, fabulous restaurants, art galleries and walks through the jungle and rice fields. Villa Delicious has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You will be looked after by friendly, competent staff. Oh yes,and there are fire flies in the garden at night magic.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dreaming of paradise… We recently visited this hidden gem of a home, Pondok Padi, and I’m still dreaming of it. There is so much attention to detail in the décor of the home and in the amazing gardens. It is a magical place filled with art, beauty and tranquility. I have traveled the world and this is one of the few places I could call home. The rooms are open and airy with the most spectacular views over the rice fields. The gardens are sublime with the meandering pools of water, the sculptures and the gorgeous pool. This location can’t be beat with the tranquility of rice fields surrounding you and the local cafes like Yellow Flower, and it’s just a short walk to the bustling town of Ubud when you are ready for some fun. Truly the perfect home with the best of all worlds.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Dana for your glowing review....yes I love it too at Pondok Padi...it is a labour of love and a joy. It is very gratifying to know that the love I put into it is felt by others. Bali is a wonder and I am glad to have helped you enjoy your visit.

Pondok Padi, a genuine paradise just steps outside of Ubud. Literally a 5 minute walk across the bridge and you're in the hustle bustle of Ubud. This house is a gentle resting place, tastefully and artistically decorated with all the conveniences one could ask for ... a beautiful garden with terraced ponds (including a 5' lotus), a refreshing pool, outdoor terraces upstairs and down, the master suite with an (almost) outdoor bathroom and cool breezes continuously cooling the days and nights. Kadek, the garden and pool caretaker always looking after things outside; Wayan and Nyoman, who became like family, cooking and cleaning, shopping and caring for every possible need that you should have. My daughter and I are just leaving after 3 glorious weeks and can't wait to return! This home isn't like a rental, you're living amongst Balinese art, dieties and paintings, wonderful bedding and artistic ambiance, even granite counters! All the convenience of home, but so Balinese. The web pictures intrigued me, but I wasn't prepared for the glory we walked into. You won't find anything that compares to Pondok Padi.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful time in this enchanting villa. The location is perfect, far enough from Ubud that you hear nothing, close enough to walk there if you'd like. The open porches/verandas are lovely, and Penestanen is a fascinating area. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. It was perfect!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: I am delighted you enjoyed your stay so much and that my Bali family looked after you so well best wishesxxxxxx

A pool of tranquility just a hop & a skip from a hive of activity. Our only complaint is that the photos on this site do not do justice to the actual location. A month ago we regretfully left after 3 weeks of cosseted heaven in this spacious house creatively furnished with local antiques. Comfortable beds with giant mosquito nets and a large balcony of sofas looking out over rice paddies, jungle and majestic volcanoes. The lower but larger terrace/dining area is surrounded by lily ponds and a Buddha leading into an exotic tropical garden with a welcoming and very private pool. The housekeeper Nyoman is a talented cook and with Kadek & Wayan they keep everything immaculate and trouble-free. A 15min walk and you’re in the centre of Ubud which is bustling with markets, galleries, restaurants and temples which have colourful ceremonies frequently. The owners were very helpful with their local knowledge of the best places to go – we particularly liked a restaurant called KAFE and Symon’s bizarre studio at the bottom of the steps. We could witter on but it’s enough just to say 3 weeks in paradise.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I was lucky enough to rent this gorgeous villa for a over a month recently. Arriving there was like stepping into the ultimate Bali private villa dream fantasy. The garden and pool area were beautiful and artistically created with lotus ponds, fish & frogs, carved stone goddess relief walls, buddha statues, dripping flowers and fruit, glorious pool - a true garden of eden. From the bedroom upstairs the views were breathtaking... vibrant green rice padi's, wild coconut palm jungle and mysterious mountains beyond. The staff were incredible (best breakfast in Ubud) with all my needs taken care of. Great too that a fabulous little organic food cafe (plus sevral other cafes) and excellent yoga classes were only a minutes walk from the villa. I'd highly recommend this piece of Ubud paradise to anyone...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Taryn says it so well the 55plus age ok and infact anyone with a sense of beauty and artistic style
