We had a great experience. The owner is prompt and accomodating. The location of the home is convienently located to access downtown, Interstates and major thoroughfares. The area is quaint and close to parks/exercise trails (Lunken airport). Quite pleased. We plan to visit again.

We had a fabulous weekend at this house. It's up on a hill with great views of the city, and is well equipped for cooking, lounging, and enjoying the city. HIGHLY recommended and great value, and Cynthia is a pleasure to work with!

This wonderful home and it's awesome owner were life savers to me. I am going through a divorce and found myself without a home on a Sunday evening about 8:00pm. I stayed in two downtown hotels for two nights and knew i needed a temporary home while i looked for a permanent place. After inquiring about this house the owner went out of her way to make this place available for me as long as she could and as quick as she could. She even cancelled her plans to come to Cincinnati so I would have a place to stay. She found a cleaning person that would come in last minute to make sure i didn't have to spend another night in hotel. The home was perfect, the king size bed, the deck off the master bedroom, the desk in the small bed room and all the closets made for a great stay. I used the kitchen many times as well as the laundry facilities. She had everything i needed. Everything was perfect! I love this area of town with all the painted ladies (blue and pink houses) up and down Tusculum and Sachem. I was able to hit Starbucks every morning on my way into downtown and was just a quick drive to Zips which i hit up at least three times during my two week stay. I wish i could have stayed longer to use the back patio, or sit on the front porch or seen a few more sunsets. Everything was so accessible and had the feel of home and made my transition so much happier. I highly recommend this home and trust me the owner is one of the nicest people i have ever rented from.

Owner response: Jamie was one of the most gracious tenants and with such a considerate heart. At times being a landlord can have its challenges and people like Jamie make it all the worthwhile. I was happy to help, especially knowing how devastating divorce can be and especially when it is unexpected. Jamie, thank you also for being so considerate and respectful of my home. You always have a home on Sachem, but hopefully during better circumstances!

I an stunned to see a negative review on this lovely home. The listing's photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance and amenities. The carpet in real life, was just as white as the carpet in the pictures. Upon my arrival the home was clean, inside and out. It was stocked with every thing that I needed. I had a few questions during my stay, and Cynthia always responded right away. I couldn't figure out the local channels on TV, and I wanted to verify some of the info that she included in the detailed notes that she sends before your arrival. I had no problems, just questions because I wanted to be a good renter. The King Bed in the Master Bedroom was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.In fact all of the furnishings were comfortable. I loved the deck off the master bedroom. I sat there to have my coffee in the morning, then in the evening to enjoy the sunset. I even stretched out a couple of days and read out there, and caught a little bit of a tan. There is a porch on the main level of the house that is very nice, and also a patio in the back of the house, and both have seating, but truly the upstairs deck was my favorite. While I did not cook a bunch, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and all of the appliances I can think of that I might have needed, if I had chose to eat in every day, but there are too many great restaurants nearby that I wanted to try. To have the washer and dryer available was a bonus, because I was able to pack a little bit less, and wash my clothes, and also take home mostly clean clothes so I didn't have to settle in to laundry right away when I got home.Laundry soap, and dish soap was supplied. I was surprised by the jetted tub in the full bathroom upstairs, I didn't recall reading that there was one, but it was sure nice to soak in there after hurting my back while stowing my bag on my flight from the west coast. Alms park was just up the hill, an easy walk and offers a beautiful view at both morning and night. Starbucks is down the hill, and a short walk, a little beyond there is the Precinct, a restaurant in an old police house, that serves the best steak I've ever eaten. The Columbia/Tusculum area is a great area to stay, as you're centrally located to many local attractions and parks. I also loved the Mount Adams area, and the Celestial Steak house, which has a beautiful view. The Blind Lemon was great too. I would definetly recommend and rent from Cynthia again, in this house or any other properties. A+++

Owner response: Suzanne, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience during your stay at my house. I try to make it turn key so people can enjoy their stay and not have to worry about running to the store to load up on basic supplies. I am also happy that you appreciated the Heavenly Westin bed that I invested in as I fell in love with it during one of my stays at the Westin Hotel. I enjoy my nights in it looking out at the city lights. I have often thought about removing the carpet but I still find carpet gives the house a more cozy feel to it. I also inform people about the carpet in the welcome packet . "The house has white carpet and freshly cleaned". Considering all the renters I have had, it really has not been a problem and I still feel that white is more inviting. Yes, the bathtub does have jets to give the tub a bit of a whirlpool effect. Happy that you made use of that as well. You really got to see alot during your visit to Cincinnati and I am glad you frequented the establishments that I recommended. I am happy that you contacted me with your questions as I try to be available to my tenants 24/7 while they are at my house just incase something comes up or a question needs to be answered. Like I said in my last owner response, I can only address a situation if I know about it. I do hope to see you back in Cincinnati or at one of our other properties that we have spoken about. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

This house is so full of hazards that we would advise against occupancy. Electrical wiring is not up to code. Don't fry an egg and do your laundry at the same time; forget the hair dyer. The stairs down to the basement have no handrails and the handrail from the front balcony to the street is unstable. We rented the home for a month due to its proximity to Childrens Hospital. Unfortunately, we were not informed that the carpeting throughout the house is white until it was too late to find another rental. The steps in back leading to the house from the parking area are an absolute leg breaker. No children should be allowed near them and no adults either. The owner charged for cleaning the carpets which we left cleaner than when we arrived. A $40 charge for a missing cushion?? We advise anyone to find another rental as we personally feel that this house is unsafe (fire hazard?) due to the many hazards concerning the entire property. We speak as current/former owners of rental property and accommodations (B&B) owners/operators.

Owner response: I was surprised to see this review as I contacted William almost weekly regarding his stay & he never responded so I just assumed everything was fine. This review is the first I have heard of his dissatisfaction. I have since asked him why he would stay at a house for a month if he felt it was a hazard. I would have gladly refunded his $ in full as I would never want someone to stay in a place they felt unsafe. Again no response. William called me and asked if he could rent my house for a month for 2 people & at times 4. 5 stayed the majority of the time. I did not charge him extra nor did I know 5 ppl were going to stay there as I have a 4 person limit. I do not do monthly rentals in the summer but this gentleman said he could pay only half of my weekly rates. Due to his circumstance, I made an exception and only charged him half of my weekly rates. There was another family that needed a place as they also had a child going to Children's Hospital. They were going to pay the regular rate but I turned them down since I had committed to William's family. I also covered their water and utilities. The carpets were cleaned before his arrival (have receipt for proof). When he moved out, it cost me $241.48 to have the carpets cleaned, I charged him $40. There was a seat cushion missing. I charged him $40, however, I was not able to find a replacement so I will need to purchase 7 new ones so they can all match. I did not charge him for the loose handrail that I had fixed that was secure before his arrival in front of the house. A handrail has been a added to the stairs going down to the basement. Cooper Electric has inspected the house as of 8/31/12 and the electric system is up to code. (have documents for proof). As for the steps, the house was built in 1890 and sits on a hill so some of the concrete is uneven. The house is settling. I bought the house because of the beauty of being in the historic district and the artsy feel like being in San Francisco . I offered to refund all of William's security deposit if he felt it was unfair, and his response was, "Keep the money. I think you will be needing it and alot more in the future." I take all of my tenants constructive criticism seriously. I would have addressed these issues during his stay had I been informed. However, I can't fix anything unless I know about it. But like I said, this review was the 1st time I had been notified. Regardless, all of the complaints have been addressed. It is a lovely home.

About the owner: I manage properties in many locations. This house is near and dear to me though as I have lived in it for several years. I love it to much to give it up so I have decdied to share it with others as I spend most of my time in Florida

                      Why the Owner Chose Cincinnati:
I have owned this house since 2004 but have lived in the area for 15 years. I love the central location of my house and the view from the master bedroom at night. I like being able to get my coffee right down the street. The off street parking is a big plus too!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The 3 patios, and the sun sets over the Ohio river. Fireplaces, w/d, and dishwashers are a must for me as well as off street parking.
