An enjoyable & well appointed, well located flat/apartment. We were met & given the keys plus showed around the apartment when we first arrived & this was a great help considering the time of day (5;30pm) after a long drive from Edinburgh. The area has lots of restaurants & shops right alongside the apartment & so is ideal for buying groceries, eating out etc. A nice touch was access to the full SKY TV suite (most places dont provide this) Couple of small faulty items (smoke alarm in kitchen was loose - minor really) & towel rail in onsuite only partially working (ie at bottom)..one set of strip lights that didnt work, but these did not really impact us, they are just observations Overall I'd highly recommend the apartment..it is comfortable, secure & in a great spot.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for letting us know in this review about the items you mentioned. We will get them all fixed as soon as possible. We strive to maintain a wonderful apartment, however, things do occasionally need to be fixed!

Hi Katy, We just returned from Cardiff last night and I wanted you to know how lovely the apartment was. It couldn't have been better located and everything was perfection! We have recommended it to several friends and would definitely book it again if we visit Cardiff. Thank you so much!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My sister's family, Peter, Alice and their Donna had nice time in Cardiff, especially a very pleasant stay in 9 Harbour Point Apartment. The flat is neat and tidy, spacious, well equipped, convenient and easily accessible to areas round centre centre. They just have home feeling there. Donna settles well in Cardiff U. Peter will likely re-visit Donna during next Easter. If they go, they will surely stay in your place again. The apartment was everything as described in the literature on the website. Its location is first class being so close to the vibrant waterfront of Mermaid Quay with all its restaurants, cafes and bars; it is also in close proximity to the Wales Millenium Centre for theatre goers and the Red Dragon centre which houses further restaurants, bowling complex and multi screen cinema. During our stay we only used our car once to visit Barry Island and Cosmoston Country Park, both within easy access, as there is a bus stop just outside the apartment and railway station within easy walking distance, both of which provide regular transport to Cardiff City Centre. All in all we thorougly enjoyed our stay in such a pleasant and fully equipped apartment in arguably one of the best locations in Cardiff Bay; we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone and we will certainly stay there again when we next visit Cardiff.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Danny.

The apartment is very well equipped to function as a home away from home while enjoying an extended vacation or weekend getaway. Ideally located in Mermaid Quay and within walking distance to various shops, restaurants, pubs, movie theater, bowling, historical sites, Millennium Center and exhibits such as Dr. Who Experience. Various options are available near the apartment for transportation via taxi, bus, and water taxi to City Center. If you have kids with you the wonderful Techniquest is right next door to the apartment building. The apartment offers a great view of the bay, providing a very quiet and peaceful environment. It was a joy staying there and I look forward to a repeat booking the next time I'm able to visit Cardiff. The whole experience, from booking to enjoying the apartment, was very accommodating.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

"After my wife came across 'Harbour Point' on the Holiday-Rentals website our planned stay of one week in the Cardiff area in June fell perfectly into place. Information direct from the friendly apartment owners over the internet came promptly and with all necessary details/contacts........leaving nothing to chance. The apartment lived up to expectations, located immediately overlooking Cardiff Bay with its excellent restaurant choice and facilities within easy walking. With secure garaging (albeit, a close fit, as warned) the self contained roomy apartment provided a well laid out and comfortably furnished base with convenience of short bus or taxi rides into the centre of Cardiff for an excellent variety of shops and access to the historic sites (and more eateries!). Also, for us, a stay that allowed easy visits to the Vale of Glamorgan was a key a requirement. Would have liked Sky Sports as Wales were playing rugby in Australia; but hey, free Wi-Fi filled that gap. I must admit to being bias, as my hometown is just across Cardiff Bay, however we believe we have discovered a holiday break option that we hope to use again." This was our first VRBO experience and it was very positive from beginning to end. We stayed in the apartment for two weeks in June while we were in Cardiff visiting family and friends. As other reviewers have said, the location is excellent with a bus stop right outside and lots of cafes, shops, and other attractions in walking distance. The apartment itself is well equipped and comfortable. We would recommend the apartment and would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This condo is a perfect location for anyone visiting Cardiff. The view is fabulous and the accomodations were fantastic. Katy has thought of everything. We felt so at home in the condo. Katy responded so quickly when we submitted our request for information. The reservation and payment was a breeze. The condo is in a perfect location. We walked along the Cardiff Bay and tried different restaurants. One morning we walked all along the newly renovated Bay to view the ocean. The walk to the City Centre is only 15 minutes or a couple minutes by taxi. We will certainly recommend the condo to anyone we know visiting Cardiff.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great apartment, very convenient location. You can catch a bus for the city centre just a stone's throw from the front door, or walk - it's about 1.5 miles to Cardiff Castle. Lots of great eating places nearby - and night life, if you enjoy it. The great thing is once in apt., you don't have all the hub-bub and noise. So you can be in the middle of a lot of activity, but also have a sactuary to return to in very close proximity.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I rented this apartment for the duration of the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and were delighted that we had done so. The view from the balcony is fantastic, all the more so because you are only 3 floors up and therefore you can see clearly all the people below! The area is full of eating places and is 'semi-detached' to the Spice House restaurant where we had a good meal on our last evening. Woods Brasserie is to be recommended - their lunch deal is good value but the portions are very small. Harry Ramsden's is also next door and other restaurants (Cafe Rouge, Pizza Express etc) are within five short minutes' walk. We used the hob once and the oven not at all! Tesco Express is a stone's throw away. Ths bus service into Cardiff is reliable. Use the Number 6 Bay car which circles around the city centre so you can get off wherever suits you. All day passes on local buses cost £3 and a return ride into the City centre costs £2. A weekly pass costs £14 which is what we should have bought, had we seen details of it in time! We hardly used our car - just once to visit relatives near Port Talbot. The second bedroom consists of two full size bunk beds, so we felt that the apartment was ideal for our needs and would be also for a couple with two children. I assume that one can sleep on the sofa, but what we enjoyed most was all the space to ourselves and the luxury of a bathroom each!! Despite its convenience, the apartment was very quiet. The only disappointment was the weather, but even so, it was still fun to look out at such a wonderful view even when there wasn't a soul around!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The apartment was in a great location, we took a bus from the airport to the Central station in Cardiff and got a cab for around 8#'s. The keys were waiting for us and we were given a quick and efficient tour of the property. We were so pleased and the next morning we explored the Quay. We walked, took a bus or a train everywhere and there was no need to rent a car. We would love to return and take our friends with us next time, this was an awesome and clean apartment in a great location. Loved the Packet Hotel where we saw actors and locals enjoying a pint. The owner was so friendly and so was the staff at Eli Jenkins. The restaurants were fun and the Welsh cakes and coffee were a special treat. The bay held lots of history and the Millineium Center offered free performances Sunday afternoon. We bought fresh fish from Cardiff market in the center city along with fresh berries, what a nice way to relax and enjoy the view! Loved it all.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

ValerieK St Andrews Four of us have just returned from 7 days holiday in this gorgeous apartment. It is quite stunning and the view over Cardiff Bay while you sit sipping delicious cold wine (from the wine cooler) on the balcony is perfect. The apartment was spotless and has everything you could possibly need -powerful showers, endless hot water, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, DVD, radios...... The surrounding environs provide endless activities and we (4 adults) filled 7 days without any problem. It takes less than 2 minutes to walk to the mind boggling array of restaurants and bars - suggest Damiros for Pimms and champagne and delish pizza and steak. It takes 3 mins to walk to the magnificent theatre, the new Welsh parliament, to book speed boat trips, to jump on the water bus for Cardiff city centre. The open top bus stops 100m from the apartment and drops off at the Millenium Stadium (great tour) and the Castle (also well worth a visit). We had lazy mornings relaxing in the apartment people watching from the balcony and it was SO RELAXING, we ate lunch somewhere diferent every day (avoid Terra Nova - ghastly), were busy all afternoon then came back to the lovely apartment to change, chill, have a glass of wine and then hit The Bay. Don't hesitate to book this apartment. Cardiff Bay has loads to offer and it is such a fab place to stay. Enjoy!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Top marks for this fabulous apartment. Kim Northamptonshire Review Submitted: September 14, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010 The location couldn't have been better, so close to the visitor attractions, activities and entertainment, and with numerous bars and restaurants all situated near to the waterfront, plus shops galore in central Cardiff, if you choose you don't even have to take the car out of the garage. The apartment is spacious, light and modern and extremely comfortable, and would certainly recommend it. Great views over the bay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Grandpa West Sussex, UK Review Submitted: December 2, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010 I had rented this apartment for my married daughter and her 3 boys, for a family celebration in Cardiff. It was ideal - the accommodation was really high class, very suited to accommodating a family, and the large lounge was ideal for us to join them during the daytime. The location is excellent - super views of the Bay and very convenient for restaurants - and the facilities in the apartment were to a high standard. Convenient parking in the basement helped to make this a trouble-free break. Strongly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a location in Cardiff bayDid you find this review helpful? Great Location! Fabulous Condo! J & B Fort Worth, Texas Review Submitted: August 11, 2010 Date of Stay: July 2010 My husband and I have been renting "holiday" homes for many years. Most property descriptions are much better than what you actually find; however, this condo was even better than the owner's description! Perfect location for travelers without a car! City bus and "Hop-on Hop-off" tour bus, as well as a cab stand were less than a block outside the front door. Grocery, museums, shops, pubs, and too many restaurants to count were well within a five minute walk! Also, the condo is just a short walk to the new Millenium Center. Cardiff Central Station was about five pounds away by cab. The view from the balcony and out every window was fabulous! The apartment was well equipped with modern applicances and tastefully decorated. It had the feel of being in an Ikea advertisement, but was comfortable and homey at the same time. The owners did a great job communicating what was available before arrival and also had lots of information waiting for travelers within the condo. The building was in an extremely safe and easily accessible touristy type location. Although sometimes inconvenient, numerous locks to the condo and building itself added to our sense of security. If given the chance to return to the area, we would definitely enjoy staying in this property again! It was perfect for our needs!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

RegC Derbyshire Review Submitted: June 15, 2010 Date of Stay: June 2010 We have just returned from an excellent stay in Cardiff Bay at the above apartment. Luxurious by description, this was certainly a superb apartment with tasteful contemporary interiors and furnishings, in immaculate and comfortable finish and with spectacular views across the bay to the ocean. Ideal for quick access to the Bay and the City via excellent public transport and water bus, the car pretty much had a week-off in the secure garage. Everything felt ideal with superb facilities and airy and spacious rooms which made you feel instantly relaxed - so from breakfast on the balcony to drinks in the evening before dining at one of the many harbourside restaurants, the whole experience was a delight. The owner provided clear instructions and the key handovers were faultless - these aspects really help to take the stress out of the process. I would definitely recommend the property to a friend, although selfishly don't want to in case they have it booked when I want it! Cardiff is a beautiful green city by the sea - the Bay has excellent restaurants as well as culture - the Millennium Centre concert Hall, Cinema and Dr Who! Walks to the wetland area and nearby Penarth, another spot for fine dining. A short water taxi service lands you in the city centre which is excellent for shopping, culture and nightlife and sport. I am already planning our return to this fantastic property. Many thanks to the owner for making our anniversary holiday something extraDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
