Sarnano villa description
Villa Agnese is within walking distance from the historical centre of Sarnano, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy. Its privileged location, 530 metres above sea level, in the Sibillini National Park, offers stunning views of the surrounding village and hills.
The centre can be reached in five minutes and a large variety of delicious specialties can be found at the local stores. For those who prefer relaxing in the shade of a luscious garden, there are games such as a ping pong table, fuss ball, and a barbecue where you can enjoy all kinds of meat or vegetables available at the local market or in the many butcher’s in the village.
In the villa, which has been recently restored in the style of an old country house dating back to the beginning of the nineteenth century, all modern facilities are available. Moreover, its spacious dining room (85 sq. metres wide) from where you have direct access to the garden, is ideal for big groups or large families (up to 10 people) wanting to experience the beauties of this oasis of quietness.

Marvelous contemporary villa in lovely mountain town
Marvelous contemporary villa in lovely mountain town
Come with family and friends and prepare for joy and peace in this undiscovered jewel of Italy. Live effortlessly in the clean, spacious, beautifully updated country house with wood burning fireplace and commodious kitchen. Huge doors open to an enclosed yard with an orchard, gorgeous views of and plenty of room for children. Eat under the stars on a summer night. Leave your car and walk for delicious shopping and wandering in Sarnano, or take the kids to a shady park in summer. All around Sarnano, you'll find spectacular cross-country skiing, hiking, festivals, open air markets, shows, concerts, and charming towns to visit. After our first interaction with hosts Fabio and Gabriella, it seemed like they were already old and dear friends. To sum up: visit Sarnano any time and you'll never want to leave.

Best of Italy...
Best of Italy...
If you have already done with Florence and Rome and the exhausting “grand tour”, and want to experience the “real” beautiful Italy, this is the place for you. Sarnano is on the hilly Marche countryside, a little medieval town surrounded by a great mountain landscape and plenty other medieval jewels (the list of attractions by the owners is pretty good). The best advantages of this part of the country: - it is quiet! Very low tourist level, you will visit churches, museums and towns in silence, by yourself, enjoying the atmosphere… - there is great cultural life, Italian and international, my favorite is the Argentine Tango festival in San Ginesio (20 minutes), world class! - Food, “homemade” and classy at the same time, hard to beat…do not miss the local prosciutto and salamis. The best of Villa Agnese: - the view! Have a drink or dinner outside, at the sunset, facing the ancient medieval center of Sarnano! - Plenty of space, outside and inside, new furniture, if you are lucky and in season you can taste the local figs… - If you want to have a quiet time, enter your driveway, park the car, and leave it there. Spend a quiet week at home or walking in town. Everything is 5 minutes from the house: old center with museum and churches, shopping, restaurants, coffee shop, central square, children park, etc.

Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: We live in Como most of the year, but Sarnano is the place where we love to stay. The house is part our family history, restoring it has been a long but rewarding work. Our daughters loved spending time in the garden looking for ladybugs, porcupines and the neighbors hens. Now they enjoy hiking in the Sibillini mountains or gathering with friends in the garden that used to be their playground. For us this is “home”: the smells, the people, and the atmosphere are unique, a beautiful peace of Italy to be proud of.
Why the Owner Chose Sarnano:
In 2001 we decided to renovate the house, which formerly belonged to my grandfather, because we couldn’t resist the charm of this quiet place, full of history. Here you can feel totally laid-back either reading, listening to the birds singing, or sipping a good local wine while eating “ciauscolo”. You can’t ask for more!
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
At Villa Agnese you can either choose to be fully immersed in a medieval setting, spend your time hiking in the mountains, swim in the lake Fiastra, cycle along hilly bike-paths, relax at the local spa, or go sightseeing ancient Roman ruins. Everything is at hand, the information point is a few steps from the villa, besides you will find useful brochures in the house.
