OceanSong is a classic cottage with iconic dormer windows, on the most beautiful beach (3miles long) in the Abacos. Open to the breeze, this is barefoot living with fantastic swimming on your own private beach. Full renovated, with beds for 6 adults and 2 children. Large decks and a side porch provide ample outdoor living space with shade for lunch, yoga or a nap. Kitchen and 2 bathrooms are functional & pretty. Upstairs has two bedrooms, King and Queen, separated by beach-style curtains, and small bathroom between. Also upstairs sleeping deck is ideal for stargazing. Air conditioning is ready when needed, or let the ocean breeze and fans keep you cool. Entertainment includes 2 screens (no TV) to play a collection of DVDs, Ipod dock, and guitar. Wireless Internet access is on a pay per use system. Generator (manual start) is available. A well landscaped private yard with fragrant lilies and sculptures adds more unique flavor to OceanSong. Ideal for retreats, romantic getaways, a place to heal, renew and have fun.

Activities in Great Guana: After swimming, sunning, walking to the end of the beach and exploring the reef, you can rent a bike and visit the rest of the island, ride to Baker's Bay, the luxury resort to the north, for a lunch. Rent an outboard and go boating or fishing, exploring the other islands around the sea of Abaco: Man O' War and Elbow Cay to the south, each island having its own character and easily reached during a day of boating. Great family outing is snorkeling and diving with Dive Guana to the beautiful sea preserves of Fowl Cay and North Guana. More expert dive sites are also possible if you are looking for wreck dives. The reef here is the third largest barrier reef in the world, attracting divers from all over the world. 3 island Restaurants include world famous Nippers (easy walk up the beach from OceanSong) & Grabbers nearby on the sea of Abaco for sunset.

I have stayed at Oceansong, the name of this property, along with my girlfriend. Morning coffee on the deck having breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day or dinner on the deck to end the day. The master bedroom upstairs is open and airy and there is a deck off the second floor with a place to sleep under the stars as well. Downstairs has a functional and good kitchen along with two other bedrooms, bathroom and living area--perfect for entertaining. There is a dune in front of the house that gives you privacy from "beach gawkers" but you can see the ocean from the second floor i all its glory. Just down the beach is the infamous Nipper's bar--great dancing, tunes, drinks, people, BBQ [cuban cigar selection]. Down the street from OceanSong is Grabber's bar--a virtual cornucopia of rum infused bad behavior/good stories later opportunities abound if your in the mood [which i often am in the islands...just sayin...] The beach at your footsteps in front of the house is wonderful for swimming and there are some close in reefs for snorkeling...the locals frown upon skinny dipping [formal Bahamian thing] but a quick shortrun from the the front of the house and your day has begun well--along with the coffee waiting for you on the deck. Whether your looking for a family getaway or a romantic getaway this is an excellent choice. The ability to dine in saves big money but you have lots of options out there to tempt you as well. I'm looking forward to going back.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We are both artists: Michael is an American sculptor/ painter and Anyes is a French photographer. We have a young daughter and we are now living in London, after living in Breckenridge, Colorado, before moving to the Bahamas, to live full time at OceanSong. We are interested in healthy living in beautiful places. We have left for our visitors a solid library of our inspirational books, around healing, yoga, massage, meditation, personal growth, prayer and more...
Why the Owner Chose Great Guana Cay:
We bought Oceansong to live there in 2005. After 7 winters in a ski resort in Colorado, we craved for some warmth and being near the ocean. We both were very busy creating sculptures, paintings and photographs to show in galleries in Nassau and Miami, and this was a great place to be creative, without any disctractions.

There is nothing as ideal as a good weekend on the beach, when the Ocean is right there to dive in, in the surf or on a flat calm day. I love being on the beach, finding treasure, exploring the far end of the empty beach at dawn, making a bon fire on a windless night, watching the moonrise...
