Our vacation rental, the East Wing has been created with flexibility, restfulness and comfort in mind. It is a bright and sunny one-bedroom apartment, decorated with LLBean furnishings, local art and photography. Cozy quilts invite you to a restful night’s sleep and the shady hammock beckons for afternoon naps. Enjoy our mature perennial gardens or a walk in the woods. Leave your bedroom window open during the night and you might hear the resident owl hoo-hooing or the neighborhood coyotes yipping.
In the summer, see if our raspberries or blueberries are ready for your breakfast and visit the nearby farm stand for the freshest produce ever. Head to one of Biddeford Pool’s exclusive beaches for some boogie boarding and then pick up locally caught lobsters for your evening meal. Colder months are great for nearby Nordic skiing and then a soak in the hot tub. It really is the perfect home base for a beach vacation, a food and wine delight, a walking exploration or a writer’s retreat.
We would love to introduce you the beauty and richness of Southern Maine. The East Wing is literally minutes from some of the nicest beaches in Maine, wonderful kayaking and quiet walking trails, 20 minutes from Portland or Kennebunkport and about 45 minutes from the home of LLBean in Freeport, outlet shopping in Kittery or mountain hikes. This is just the beginning of our favorites list! We think that Maine is an amazing place to live and love sharing it as only native Mainers can.
We want to make sure that you have all the privacy that you deserve on vacation, so we are always available when you arrive and depart and as needed for other helpful things like directions, restaurant recommendations, advice on day trips, etc. Otherwise, we let you have as much privacy as you wish. This was the second time we stayed here, which probably speaks volumes to our experience, but I will still say that Kathi and Bob are great. Very hospitable, kind, and accommodating. The location tucked back in the woods is very serene and quiet. The accommodations are just right: clean, neat, and well organized. A wonderful place to stay, just perfect with regard to furniture, cleanliness and comfort. The owners, Kathy and Bob, are very helpful and supportive - they make you feel like home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful time staying in the East Wing. Fully stocked kitchen, lovely grounds complete with a screened in porch. Owners were beyond helpful and welcoming...even loaned us their car so we could go to local beach which required an in-town permit. Beaches were beautiful... best of sandy beach for swimming and rocky beach for exploring. Would go back in a heart beat.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

WOW, what a lovely apartment. Kathi has thought of everything you might possibly need and the decor is great. The location is wonderful, close to Biddeford, Saco, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. My wife and I just got back from a wonderful week staying at Kathi's place. It's located so far back from the road that you feel like you're at a secluded cottage in the middle of the woods. The apartment is roomy, beautiful and immaculate. The kitchen and pantry were fully equipped. You couldn't meet a nicer person than Kathi. She went out of her way to make our stay the best it could be. Every day she let us know of special events, recommended restaurants, and when she learned that we mainly wanted to spend our days at the beach she even got us a temporary permit to park at the private beaches nearby! I was only sorry that we couldn't have stayed longer.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Kathi outdid herself with the East Wing. We enjoyed the quiet wooded retreat away from the hustle and bustle of town -- Yet close to EVERYTHING... One night at Old Orchard Beach, another in Portland... It was a great get away for us!! This romantic retreat is perfectly decorated with Maine maps and topographical charts. The furniture is comfortable and cozy, and the setting is quaint and ever so relaxing. You have to see it to believe it !! Don't miss the East Wing on your next visit to Maine... Thanks Kathi !! About the owner: I am a native Mainer, and love sharing our state with friends, old and new. An avid gardener, hiker, skiier and traveller, I proudly work for Maine's own L.L.Bean and am currently involved on a degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management. I collect seaglass and stones wherever I go and love sharing a glass of wine with guests from all over the world.
