The river is a known trout stream and the two ponds on the property are great for waterfowl hunting and one pond is stocked with panfish. Nearby are 37,000 acres of public state land for recreation. Also, a short drive away is a county park with a sand beach on Lake Michigan. If you like waterfalls, the Upper Peninsula is home to over 100 waterfalls.
In the evening you may enjoy stargazing or watching the meteor showers in August while sitting around the outdoor fire pit. Listen to the spring peepers or the cries of a distant coyote.
In the fall take in the fall colors and take a drive around the Upper Peninsula for some of the best autumn views in the country. Enjoy the apples in the orchard or take a drive to one of the farmer's markets or commercial orchard. The cabin is located in one of the highest deer population areas in the Upper Peninsula. 5 hunting blinds are on the property as well as a food plot. Winter is a great time for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, or driving to one of many downhill slopes. The cabin comes stocked with a Christmas tree if you stay for the holidays. Also, popular are the waterfalls in the winter for viewing and climbing.
Other area attractions include championship golf courses, casinos, great restaurants, and many day trip possibilities. Lake Superior to the North and Lake Michigan minutes away with many lakes between and tourist attractions.
