We had a great stay at the cabin and enjoyed a few sunny days of skiing. Perfect size place for a few old friends to get together. Note that two of the twin beds are in a loft, not in a bedroom proper with walls/door. This was not a problem for us at all, but might be nice to know for families. Tad is very nice and easy to deal with.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.

This house was in a perfect location, just a few steps from a nice beach on the Sandy River. The deck was great for hanging out and had gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. The bedrooms were all as-described and we were comfortably able to sleep 8 adults. We prepared all of our meals at the house over a three-day weekend and the kitchen had everything we needed for cookware. Good selection of movies as well. I would stay here again anytime and highly recommend.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Great place to unwind and relax right on the Sandy River. Home is comfortable and had plenty of elbow room for our family. Having access to the neighborhood pool and tennis courts was a huge plus for us. Very close to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and Government Camp. Perfect Location for a Mt. Hood Getaway.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1997
About the owner: As a family we are all native Oregonians. I grew up in Astoria Oregon and my wife grew up in Salem. We have three children with two in college and a one in high school. I have been a real estate appraiser since 1986 and my wife is a grade school teacher.
Why the Owner Chose Brightwood:
We have owned this home since 1997 and have used it as a winter and summer recreation home. One fact of owning a river front home is the fact the river is constantly changing and there is never a dull moment! Having grown up on the coast I was always intrigued by Mount Hood as well as winter recreation which was not available on the coast.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The access to Mount Hood is excellent while the home gets occasional snow, the advantage of this location is the fact you rarely have difficulty getting to the home. The neighborhood is excellent for young children as the streets are level with low traffic making bicycling easy. There is a summer outdoor pool within walking distance. The river is excellent for summer tubing and rafting as well as kayaking in the spring. Life jackets are essential.
