Our wedding was superb! This ranch is a great testimony to the owner's vision for hospitality and we can't say enough about how great a time we all had! Places as classy as Selah Springs are generally a little stuffy, but not here. The ranch was opened to our enjoyment and enjoy it, we did. Beautiful river frontage with the kind of accommodations and hands-off hospitality that truly encourage relaxation. A perfect combination of rugged hill country and wildlife for the fellas, coupled with a first class lodge and full ammenities for the ladies. I can see us spending several anniversaries and/or getaways on this property.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had our annual girl's weekend here and had a wonderful time. There were a couple of issues when we first arrived but Phil was very apologetic and quick to remedy them . The lodge was beautiful and had more than enough room. Two kitchens were a plus, one was used for cooking, the other we used as a wet bar to keep our drinks. There were 16 of us so some stayed at the bunkhouse up the road. We did see quite a few deer and the view was really nice. I would definately stay here again! We celebrated our anniversary at Selah Springs Ranch in August. The log cabin is beautiful! The meals and massage were amazing! It was the perfect retreat to spend time together to slow down from our busy lives with three young children (9,7and 5) and reconnect together. The ranch is beautiful even in a Texas drought! We slept late, walked along the dry river bed, and enjoyed God's beauty all around us! We are looking forward to staying here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My first family group vacation was awesome. We had the pleasure to stay at Selah Springs Ranch and it was a weekend vacay I will never forget. The 5,000 sq ft lodge that we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. You feel just at home. Each room had so much living space to feel like you were staying in your own private cabin. At night we enjoyed floating in the pool and looking up to the most amazing sky sprinkled with the brightest stars I've ever seen. Thank you Phil and Andrea for allowing us to stay in your amazing home. It's an experience I will cherish and we look forward to returning to Selah Springs in the near future.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We are so happy to have selected Selah Springs for our annual friends and family vacation. We had 5 families, with small children, join us at the ranch for a weekend getaway. We could not have more excited and when we arrived, we were not disappointed. The Lodge is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Having 2 kitchens was so great for cooking meals and snacks for the children. The porch was our favorite relaxation and running spot. The children had such a good time hiking, playing in the pool, doing laps around the porch, and trying their hand at horseshoes. As for us adults, we loved that our children had freedom to play and have fun. The night sky was amazing; we even saw parts of the Milky Way. Traveling with a group of children can be quite uncomfortable, but the ranch was anything but. We are so thankful for the gracious hospitality and loving care that Phil and Andrea put into making our stay Selah Springs Ranch an enjoyable and relaxing one. Thank you so very much for allowing us to come and have a fantastic family vacation.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife, two sons (ages 6 and 4) and I spent two weeks at the Selah Springs Ranch Lodge. We are an outdoors family and could not have asked for a better location to spend our vacation. The lodge is fantastic, spacious and very well maintained. We spent our days visiting nearby towns, hiking on the ranch, photographing wildlife and practicing our shooting. Our boys could not have been happier. They learned to follow deer trails, find antler sheds, practiced their fishing and became quite the "sharp shooters" by practicing shooting balloons tied to the fence or floating on the pond. With a little pre-vacation planning by my wife and I, we planted both a treasure map and a treasure chest on the property. The boys found the map one day and then spent the entire next day looking for the treasure. Imagine their surprise and excitement when they followed the map and found the chest down by the river filled with coins, old medals and "jewels." My six year old said that finding the treasure made for the "bestest" day ever. He is still telling everyone he sees about t he adventure. Most evenings were spent grilling on the outdoor grill, relaxing on the porches, watching the wildlife come down to the river and watching the sunsets. We had some friends and family visit while we were there, and they were equally impressed. This being our first VRBO experience, we did not know what to expect. Phil and Andrea, the managers of the property, exceeded all expectations. They are a wonderful couple who we now consider friends. They met all our needs, answered all our questions and even made dinner for us one night. Phil went well beyond the call of duty by answering my kids' daily deluge of questions, teaching them to play pool one afternoon and telling us about the interesting places to see on the ranch. Most admirable was the genuine excitement in Phil's eyes as we described our adventures on the ranch. Phil grew up on this ranch, obviously loves it, is connected to it in a way that is rarely seen, and he genuinely wants his guests to enjoy it the same way that he and his family has for years. My family has traveled a lot through the years and we seek out the best of the best when searching for a place to stay. Selah Springs was just what we were looking for, and I cannot imagine any guest who loves the outdoors being disappointed. We are already planning a return trip in the fall.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Selah Springs has become our location of choice for annual corporate strategy retreats. Being able to get away from all the daily distractions of our business and focus on our goals has been critical to our success. The accommodations allow for presentations, small group breakouts, and a number of team building activities. When the business aspects are done, the setting is perfect for people to relax, go for a run, or enjoy the wildlife and beautiful hill country surroundings. In fact, several of our staff have booked family trips on their own time. Staff were always professional and available for special requests or needs. We continue to use the location for staff and management workshops and recommend the location without reservation.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have been to Selah Springs several times for business retreats and personal get-a-ways. What a great place to unwind and enjoy the hill country. Once you enter the gate and leave the busy world behind, you can really sense the peace, beauty and serenity that comes with the property. As you drive to the cabin a mile or two from the gate, you will see all kinds of beautiful exotic animals. The cabin is big, clean and the decor is perfect adding to the whole experience. My personal favorite is the porch that extends the entire length of the cabin and overlooks the river and has a great fire place too! Now, the cherry on top! I can not say enough about the genuine hospitality and care that Phil and his wife display every time we are there! Everything from the great meals they provide or just making sure you are enjoying yourself...wether that is chillin out on the porch, fishing in the river, hunting the exotic game, shooting skeet, exploring the property...whatever. They really enjoy and love serve others! We look forward to coming back again soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I have visited Selah Springs Ranch several times. The memory of sitting on the porch overlooking the river and watching the sun set is an indelible cherished memory. Hiking around the ranch and photographing all of the exotic animals with my wife and children is one of our dearest vacation memories. The lodge itself is incredible but the setting is what makes this place magic. If you want a restful and special time away from the daily grind, this is the place for you. And of course, I will return!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

"A Christmas Family Vacation that will remain in our memories for years to come. Selah Springs was the perfect Vacation due in large part to the servant's hearts and hospitality of the Chavanne Family. While the lodge and the wildlife certainly more than met our expectations, it was the spirit of the Chavanne family welcoming us to their unique ranch with open arms that set it apart. We felt like old friends coming to visit. God's richest blessings to you all"Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: My wife and I are the full-time managers of Selah Springs Ranch - where the two cabins are located. We are in love with the Texas hill country and in particular the rolling hills of Selah Springs - where the San Saba river runs. We both have a love for people and sharing this place and our hospitality with them is our top priority. God has blessed us with this place and our hope is to share that blessing as often as possible.
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
Although there are several unique features on this property the two words that stand out most when people describe their experiences on Selah Springs are probably 'quiet' and 'adventurous'. With 750 acres to yourselves to explore and no civilization for miles this really is a place to pause and to rest., while at the same time to fish, hunt, hike, explore, camp, picnic or take a swim in the river. No matter what age you are there is something for everyone at Selah Springs.
