This lovely home is on Truro Center Road near the top of the hill. It is Not on Rte 6 as the google map would have you believe. All rentals start on Sunday. Ballston Beach and Corn Hill are only five minutes away on back roads from this well-loved two story home with wide pine floors, cathedral ceilings, light flooding through skylights and a seven foot Baldwin concert grand piano. The entire downstairs is enhanced by a recently installed and superbly quiet air conditioner to keep the piano in tune and you comfortable. In the open plan dining room there is a unique fireplace, and lots of cooking equipment in the welcoming country kitchen. You will find ample bedrooms and closet space, a deck and a grill, a cool screened porch overlooking a green lawn to contrast with the flowers, vegetable garden and woodlands. Most rooms have ceiling fans, including the screened porch off the bedroom, and there are air conditioners for bedroom windows if needed. The rate for one week is $2532, but there is a discount of $500 if you stay for at least two weeks. Beaches: The closest ocean beach in Truro is Ballston Beach. The closest bay beach is Corn Hill. They are both two miles away and are very beautiful. Other gorgeous beaches nearby in Truro are Longnook, Head of the Meadow, Coast Guard and Ryder Beach, a bay beach. The nearby towns of Wellfleet and Provincetown also have remarkable beaches about 15 minutes away from the house. The tiny center of Truro is just a 10 minute walk down the hill from the house where you will find a gourmet restaurant called Blackfish, the famed specialty deli and grocery store called Jams next to the Post Office, and across the street the village green where there are free live concerts on Thursdays until Labor Day. Besides the airport and the high speed ferry from Boston, transportation in the area includes Plymouth and Brockton bus service to Boston and elsewhere, and the regional Flex bus which runs on a regular schedule. Both cost very little and are easily accessible from the house. Visitors sometimes use the Flex bus to get to beaches such as Head of the Meadow Beach or to go into Provincetown without the necessity of finding parking. Why people come here:: You know why you want to come here, but some of the most compelling reasons to come here besides being surrounded by ocean and sparkling blue skies are for cultural and educational pursuits. Classes in the visual arts, poetry and other forms abound in the area, and are often participated in by visitors whose creative sides are stimulated by the environment. It is a wonderful opportunity to relax, have fun, and at the same time to earn collage credits with local courses or simply express yourself in a way that you never have before.
