What can I say that already hasn't been said about this wonderful property? My girlfriend and our 3 dogs had such an AMAZING time. Located in the middle of the desert, this house it truly the perfect, relaxing getaway. Having read the review in regards to the property not being clean all I can say is that's bull****. You are in the middle of the desert. Not the 4 Seasons. What do you expect? The home is built to be open and airy. If a little dust and dirt gets in, so be it. This is what you're signing up for and it's FANTASTIC. We were there for two nights and didn't leave the property once. Why would we? It was huge! The dogs loved running around. My girlfriend and I did yoga in the middle of the yard. We hung out in the jacuzzi (which was perfectly clean). We read (tons of great literature in the house). We listened to amazing music on the record player. We cooked. We danced. We drank wine. And before we knew it, it was time to leave :( I have to say, the only thing that's "rather disappointing" about this home is that it's booked for the next year. With so many great properties out there to rent, my girlfriend and I have never gone back to a home we've stayed in before. However, I can say that without a doubt, we'd return to Casa De Two Mile Road. It was that good.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, pet owners.

We rented this home over the Christmas holiday based on the reviews that we read. We wondered if we were in the same house after our experience. This house is funky and truly reminiscent of the 60's which we liked since all four of us celebrated our teens during those years. There was lots of yard art and funk in the house. We totally enjoyed listening to a bit of the record collection! But the rest was truly disappointing. The house was not clean. We couldn't figure out the last time the living room was dusted and the kitchen drawers were a mess and dirty inside. Same went for the refrigerator. It wouldn't hurt to splurge for a microwave. The hot tub had cloudy water and since one of us owns a hot tub we know that a well kept up hot tub has crystal clear water, so we couldn't use that. Then one bed had a set of sheets with dog hair all over them. When we went to change them we couldn't find a spare set in the closet nor were there extra towels for the hot tub. When we went to wash those sheets we found extra clean towels in the dryer and dirty sheets in the washer that needed to be washed. This home has a two bedroom addition that is not connected to the central system yet only one of those rooms had a space heater and since the house was cold that sent one of our party into the living room to sleep where there was heat. This all made us wonder when was the last time the owner has inspected this house. On a positive note the person in our party who made the reservation was pleased with the manager and felt he was easy to deal with when arranging our stay. We are all hikers and know how to rough it and we hate to bash anyone but when you go on vacation and are not camping this is not what you want to stay in after saving your hard earned money. We loved Joshua Tree but next time we will be staying somewhere else.Owner response: Hi Lisa, I'm so sorry to read your review and that your stay was less than perfect! I was out to CD2M in October - currently live in TN so you are correct, we are not out there everyday. Within a week or so after your stay we did schedule a deep clean on the property - it wasn't possible with all the holiday rentals and I apologize that the house was dusty- it is the desert as you know but the house is dusted every time it's flipped and although we've never had someone complain about it being too dusty, I will make sure the housekeeper and property manager are aware. As to pet hair on the bed- this should never be something any renter has to deal with and (i'll have to check with Travis) I think you moved in right after or near when we had renters stay who we kept a significant portion of their deposit (for the first time) because of dog hair. We have now revamped our pet policy and it's in the rental agreement. As to the hot tub, I have a technician that comes and cleans/services it bi-weekly, and Travis checks it every time the property turns over so I have no idea why it would be cloudy but will mention and make sure it never happens again. In regards to a microwave- I will take that under consideration - we have never really used one but might be nice for travelers? All in all, I appreciate you letting us know your issues and I hope my response helped a bit. CD2M will be rented out for a year as of Mid February. We do have another property in downtown JT that will be available mid-April. I welcome you to stay with us again at a discounted rate for your troubles and if you feel like removing, or changing, your 2 star review, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! Katie- Owner CD2M

What a fantastic escape from the city! My bandmates and I spent two nights at Two Mile and could not have been more pleased! The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with throughout the whole process. The photos online did not do the place justice as far as I'm concerned. It was much larger than expected and SO CLEAN! The house is cozy and serene and the quiet is terribly welcoming. It's well furnished and equipped, the kitchen is a great size and stocked with all the utensils you will need. There's even a great little give and take setup as far as basic condiments and necessities are concerned (we felt obliged to leave a few beverages in the fridge for the incoming guests, you know, for good measure). From the wood burning stove, hammock, and hot tub on the back patio, there are plenty of places to hunker down and spend some solid time relaxing. There are lots of little treasures that you'll find in and around the property too (books, art installations, a record player and lots of vinyl, even 45's!) that make it a truly unique experience. It's close enough to run into town (10-15 min or so) to grab supplies from numerous locations. I really can't say enough great things about our time here. Go and have a getaway for yourself. If you're looking for some respite from the hustle and bustle of the city you will not be disappointed. Thanks again, we will be back for sure!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a nice time here. The house is well equipped with all that you can need. lot of space and clean. also you can enjoy nice disc player and a peculiar piano. We got a little contretemps with our daughter and the owner allowed us to stay little bit longer which was really well appreciated! Just be careful with the cactus If you have small children, but well, this applies to all Joshua Tree area! We recommend the house!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

My boyfriend and I decided to get away from the city last min. and found this place was available for the weekend. I called Katie, the owner, who is lovely to speak with and very friendly and we booked the place right away. When we drove up to the house on a Friday night around 11PM, the porch lights were on a music was playing. It was a beautiful house. It was massive and much too big for just two people. The jacuzzi was the best part since we just sat there under the stars in utter silence. The next day, seeing the house in the sunlight was another wonderful experience. The artistic feel and the vintage furniture was amazing. The house was nicely kept, clean and tidy. The kitchen is ideal for cooking and it is perfectly located not to far from town while still very isolated. I recommend this place for couples, groups, short term, long term. It's great!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks Faith! We really appreciate this! Remember, it could be yours! :) We look forward to having you again! Katie

I came with some friends and family (and my dog) for my 30th birthday week and couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay in Joshua Tree. It's close to everything you need (groceries, gas, restaurants), close to the national park, and yet feels so private and removed: it's your very own compound! We grilled out every night under the stars, played records, and had the best time ever. The views from the casa are incredible in every direction, at every time of day. And I've never seen a moon like that, ever! Katie and Tim have impeccable taste and great friends (just ask around town!) and Travis will get you whatever you need! Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Casa del Two Mile road. We stayed for five nights and primarily climbed in Joshua Tree NP. The positives: the hottub was awesome and located nicely away from winds. The kitchen was very nicely appointed. The house was decorated in a unique fashion (pianos!). We really began to enjoy playing the vast collection of vinyl after each day. Beds are comfortable. Furnishings are spartan, but functional. The few negatives: location of the house is somewhat hard to find, especially at night. We had a GPS, but unfortunately, it was giving us the wrong location, which made it hard to find the first night. Also, since we came at night we had a hard time finding the lights around the house. The one annoying thing was that light fixtures in the bedrooms were burned out, so lighting in bedrooms was low. I informed the owner of this however. None of these should be a dealbreaker, though. If you are looking for very reasonably priced accomodations in JTree, I'd recommend this location if it fits the size of your group.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

From the time we pulled up to the driveway we could already tell this would be a festive experience! This was a last minute trip to celebrate my husband's birthday and escape the cold weather on the Central Coast and it turned out to be one of the best trips we have experienced! We were greeted with a colorful banner in front of the house and we knew we were in for a treat when we stepped inside. We experienced a colorful display of art work and our 9 year old couldn't wait to play the guitar that hung on the wall. I on the other hand found some wonderful albums to spin on the turn table, lit up the candle on the table and relaxed with a glass of wine. I also enjoyed the tunes while cooking dinner while my husband and daughter entertained themselves with a game of horse shoes & kicking around a ball in the large backyard. It was a peaceful and relaxing experience as we gazed at the views of the mountains as the sun went down and as night approached views of the twinkling night lights of the village below were spectacular. In the evening we sat around talking, listening to music & discussing the interesting books that we discovered in the bookcase. I actually felt like the house took us back to a different era. The location was perfect for a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park yet we felt like we were tucked away in a secluded desert hideaway. After spending a spectacular day at the park hiking and rock climbing we came back to another relaxing evening. There are so many nice touches such as, the Japanese style paper lights in the bedroom just inviting you to relax. If you want to really take yourself away from your daily routine this house will do that. We wished we could have stayed longer and I can't wait to return again. We plan on using the studio next time because it would be perfect for a extended family or a couple. All I can say is this house has it all views, night lights and location!! I highly recommend it!
