The stay was nice. The house is right near the lake (and highway 89), and since we went up when there was snow this was especially good because we didn't have to worry about the roads being clear. The house is large with three bedrooms and would sleep 6 comfortably. The hot tub is on the front porch (which is a little odd) and it's huge! I'd definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

My group of 9 rented this house for a 3-day weekend and it was perfect for our needs. It was clean, well-maintained and roomy, outfitted with awesome amenities such as a hot tub on the front deck, latest entertainment technology, fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room, lots of towels and linens, etc. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent it again/recommend it! The house is situated two streets away from the lake. You can't see the lake from the front deck, but that wasn't really a big deal. It's close enough to walk to. The short drive to Homewood and relatively short drive to Squaw made it a great location for snow sports. It was also nice to have Tahoe City located five minutes away so that we could make grocery runs to Safeway. Photos are pretty accurate. The decor was minimal but tasteful. Other reviews mentioned that the bed in the vestibule could not be used due to draftiness, which is a fair point, but the beds inside the house sleep at least 10, not counting the couches. The driveway fits four, maybe six cars, but the iciness of the driveway made it a safety hazard. The owner was responsive and the rental process went smoothly, especially through using the VRBO payment system.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The cabin is simply beautiful. It has everything you would want in a cabin: hot tub, gas grill, multiple TVs, Fireplace, and it is extremely clean and well maintained. The only thing for us was that the cabin has beds for 12 people, but there is a queen sized futon in the living room. However, that can be an inconvenient location to sleep if certain people are going to bed late and others are waking up early. Other than that, it was truly one of our best experiences in Tahoe.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

14 of us rented this house for 2 nights and it was absolutely gorgeous, very very clean and well maintained. Plenty of bed space for all of us, though some did sleep on the couches/ air mattresses we brought by choice. Garage fits 2 cars, driveway fits 4 more cars. The house itself is beautiful, the kitchen fully stocked (except, very randomly, with cooking oil. But all the spices were there, plus a coffee maker, dishwasher with detergent, pots & pans, even some ramen! And condiments in the fridge). BONUSES: - Of course the hot tub was great. Turns out it was on the entire time we were there though we didnt start using it til the 2nd night (they must leave it on so it's nice and toasty & warm when you get back from the slopes). - Fireplace, gas powered, with TONS of firewood. - Washer & dryer (to get your jackets/ snowpants clean right away). - A beautiful iMac. Also there were no issues at all with wifi (there's a nice little book that explains everything). - Tons of beds & tons of open space. - Tons of extra towels, sheets, pillows, blankets. - Even BOARD GAMES are provided! And a flatscreen TV with cable. - Very well heated. - About 30 minutes from Northstar or Squaw, minutes from Homewood. I would love coming here in the summer as it's about a 1 minute walk from the lake and less than half a mile from a short hike that brings you up to a 250ft high cliff with BREATHTAKING views. I'm sure there's tons more hiking around there that we didn't look into. 15 minutes from a cute small town area with gas, groceries, restaurants, etc. - Tim, the owner, was very responsive on email and friendly. DOWNSIDES: - No one made use of one of the full sized beds that's right in the entry way because it was way too cold. - You are charged per hour for leaving later than the 11am check out time. We realized this in the book at about 10:30am and scrambled to get everything packed up and cleaned up. It's a completely reasonable request but it would've been nice if Tim had specifically mentioned how strict his policy is in one of our email exchanges. You're also expected to start a load in the wash w/ the sheets and towels you used.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We visited the Sears House this last weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is located in a beautiful wooded neighborhood a stroll from the lake with private beach and pier. Lake Tahoe is absolutely spectacular, with great bars (Garlands for the Wet Dreams) and Rosie's is a characterful place with delicious breakfasts. The house has all the comforts from fireplace to jacuzzi and an open plan kitchen, dining, living area for great evening dinners. We are sure to return next time with our bikes instead of skis.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you for allowing us to rent your home this winter. We really enjoyed our stay. Your home is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. It had everything we needed and we felt right at home. We enjoyed the hot tub and walking our dog through the neighborhood and down to the lake. We met some of your neighbors and they were all very friendly :) We loved how convenient the house was to the local restaurants, ski resorts and casinos. We definitely will come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I've been to Tahoe quite a few times and my stay at this cabin made this trip by far the best mountain vacation I've ever been on. The house was clean and everything worked. Hot tub is conveniently located right off the living room/dining room which makes the experience even more cozy. Everything from the comfy beds to the mountainess decor make this home the perfect getaway!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind words. We take pride in keeping the home clean and up to date with comfort and amenities. We know there are numerous other Tahoe cabins at better rates. We hope the extra money spent is worth it to have a clean, up to date home with new cozy and comfortable bedding. Regards, Tim

About the owner: We are a family of five. Our kids have enjoyed this home since toddlers. We enjoy Lake Tahoe and especially the west shore during all four seasons.
Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Swiss Village:
The west shore of Lake Tahoe is our favorite location on the lake. With perfect water for boating, the greater seasonal snow fall and its proximity to the best ski resorts, we wouldn't choose any other location.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You'll enjoy the new and cozy towels and linens. The beds are extremely comfortable and cozy!
