Our family of 6 had an enjoyable stay at Whitetop. The house was clean and well-equipped and located perfectly for our ride down the Creeper and hike up Mt. Rogers. The only thing that could have been better is cell phone and Internet connections. Owners Mike and Abby were great to work with.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

This is a great house with a beautiful screened in porch and deck outside. It has wonderful views of Christmas tree farms, mountains and the creeper trail. The trail is literally across the street. The kitchen is great and has plenty of dish wear for cooking, the appliances look new and the bathroom has a great shower/tub. There is no cell coverage or Internet, we thought it was a negative at first, but it ended up making our visit much more peaceful. You can drive up the road about a mile if you really need to check in. What really made our visit special was the owners. We met mike at the house as we arrived and he was cutting the lawn. He showed us the house and they had a beautiful clock highlighting the Appalachian Trail that mike had made. We commented because I had just picked up my girlfriend off the trail, as she is thru hiking the AT and was taking a weekend off. We headed off to the store and when we had come back mike had taken the clock off the wall and left us a really nice note giving us the clock as a gift. Absolutely great people and we will be back! I highly recommend this location for anyone wanting a relaxing visit.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fantastic stay at Whitetop Station cabin! Mike & Abby, the owners were very friendly and helpful. It was almost like staying at a friend's house. The house is very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the pots, pans, etc. that we needed. We loved the screen porch, and the close proximity to the Creeper Trail. We will definitely rent from them again, and plan to stay longer than a weekend next time.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

My family and I love mountains. We found Whitetop Station to be a mounatin lovers delight. The location within yards of the Virigina Creeper Trail opened up hours of walking, birding and of course we rode bikes on the trail. The proximity to the wonderful hiking trails in Grayson Highlands State Park was another feature we enjoyed on several days. The screened in porch was our meal tima and evening retreat. Looking at the moon through a telescope and experiencing the peace and quiet made this a week to remember. Clean, adequately provisioned and thankfully lacking in cell phone and internet connections (ahhhhh peaceful retreat!). The owners were most hosptiable and accommodating as wellRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+.

This house is one of the best locations for access to the beginning of the Creeper Trail at the top of White top mountain. Very clean and comfortable with fully stocked kitchen. Nice screened in porch "dining room". Also just a couple of miles from country store, deli and gas station. Creeper Trail Shuttle is also only a short bike ride away. Also just a few miles away from White Top Mountain and Mt. Rogers hiking trail.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We truly enjoyed our weekend in Whitetop. The rental house was wonderful for our family! We rode the Creeper Trail twice and loved getting out on the trail early in the morning before all the shuttles dropped everyone else off in Whitetop. The house is perfectly located to ride the Creeper Trail. We also loved eating at Quincey's Pizza and the Dairy King in Damascus. The owners are very kind and helpful and the property was everything we hoped it would be!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.

Great rental, very clean. Good location close to multiple trailheads and creeper bike trail. Back screened in porch and deck perfect to grill out and relax! Only wish they had a couple of rocking chairs on deck, but I might have never got out hiking if they did. Max our dog, enjoyed large yard to run in and screen porch.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Visited in late Dec 2011 --- after Christmas and across New Year's Day. Since my wife was going to visit her sisters in PA, Hank (my dog) and I took a trip to the mountains to get a trout "fix." Cabin was great and Mike and Abby were very responsive and accommodating. I could tell they treat this like their home, not just a rental property (unlike many VRBOs). The property was very clean and well-maintained. Hiked and fished a number of streams throughout the area. Gotta love those opportunistic brookies: rose to dry flies even in the middle of winter. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place. I plan on returning in the spring. Greg KokoskieRecommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

What a great retreat for a get-away. Our hosts greeted us and made us feel so welcome, providing lots of information on the area. The cottage lives large especially with the beautiful property, large screened porch, and close to the Va.Creeper Trail. As a cycling and outdoor enthusiast it was like waking up each day in a dream . We enjoyed not only the VCT with lunch at the Whistlepig Cafe, live music venues, hiking to see the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands, the New River. and more. Plus,,,, Grilling out and kicking back at the cottage was also a great way to spend quality time. ,Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
