You couldn't ask for a better view! We enjoyed just sitting in the condo watching boats head out. The condo was clean, comfortable and had anything in it you would need for a great stay. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. Even on New Year's Eve! We never heard one noise from the pier or street. The owner's were so easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for making an awesome weekend getaway!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our 10-day stay at the end of May was idyllic. Through all kinds of weather, we had a panoramic perch overlooking Yaquina Bay, the bridge, fishing boats and wildlife of all types and sizes. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable with an open living, dining and kitchen area. A variety of excellent restaurants are within walking distance on Bay Street. And we enjoyed preparing some meals in - with fresh seafood purchased a block away. The location is a short ride to the Aquarium, the Oceanic Research Center, two historic lighthouses, and Nye Beach. For us, it was the perfect spot to relax with no particular schedule at all!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

About the owner: I built the pier house complex ten years ago. I am an artist and I love to design and create. Sometimes I work really large. The building sits on the site of an old cannery. I leveled the cannery and rebuild on the pier. The new building is home to Bay Street Gallery , Saffron Salmon Restaurant ( the best in Newport) and the Pier House Vacation House. The pier sits at the mouth of Yaquina Bay and all the boats pass within feet of the pier. N.O.A.A. is building it's new Pacific Headquarters directly across the bay and will berth up to 5 ocean going vessels. Bay Blvd. is home to many eateries shops and galleries just out the door. I designed this condo with the thought of living there in the future. It is one of only 2 private residences on the west end of the bay. The Pier House has been in operation for over 8 years but has been rented by word of mouth. It's very special. We trade with our gallery artist who stay in the condo for their origianal art often inspired by the view.
Why the Owner Chose Newport:
I was looking for a location to locate a new art gallery in Newport years ago and found this unique setting. I learned the city was planning to build a new walking pier next to the old cannery I was looking at. So I purchased the property redesigned and built and was allowed to enter my business from the pier. So we located the Pier House at the end of the pier, it's almost like being on a ship, your 130 feet out in the water. The coast guard station is a close neighbor so you can keep an eye on them as well. Newports Bay Front was picked as the most authentic on the west coast by Sunset Magazine several years ago because of it's mix of restaurants, shops, galleries and working canneries.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I have had many patrons who have stayed at the Pier House who never leave during their stay. The whole fishing fleet floats by and there is a weath of wildlife to be seen. It's very calming and entertaining. The Pier House sits above Salfron Salmon the best eatery in Newport. It's all steps away.
