Location: Blue Ridge, Northwest High Country, Georgia, USA
Accommodations: Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible Bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Why Acorn Ridge Cabin? There are many beautiful cabins in North Georgia but only Acorn Ridge Cabin will help make your getaway exactly like you envisioned it!! Acorn Ridge Cabin gives the special touches to make sure your getaway will be exactly what you wanted, including personal recommendations for area activities and restaurants, based on your group size (couples, kids, etc) and requirements. You won't get this level of service from other owners. Acorn Ridge has two bedrooms (queen-size beds in each) plus a giant loft with king-size bed (our favorite room), two baths, a bonus room with pool table, hot tub and a covered wrap around two level porch. Cabin sleeps six comfortably in beds. We also have a sleeper sofa in the rec. room for kids! Our cabin is situated on a 2+ acre wooded lot, with the privacy you want but the convenience of being just outside of Blue Ridge.
If you want to just relax at the house, I'll give recommendations on how to best do it. For dining, I'll give my favorite restaurants. For shopping and antiquing, just let me know what you're hunting for and I'll point you in the right direction. No other cabin in North Georgia provides the same level of service.
We invite you to call us (Ken or Amy) to ask questions about cabin, availability, rates, or just about the Blue Ridge area. We know there are many beautiful cabins but few compare to what we have to offer.

Sometimes it's ice cream and the play ground or sometimes it's finding tadpoles in the creek. Or just browsing through the antiques stores. We've had the cabin for 5 years and have spent many weeks and weekends up there, entertaining family and friends.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2005
We have 3 young kids and wanted to buy a cabin that we could enjoy a lot and then rent when we're not using it. As you can see from our reviews, we take great care of our guests and are very responsive to their questions. Ken owns a business in Atlanta and Amy works for a non-profit. Our boys (Sam, Nick, in the photo) are 7 and 6 yrs, along with 18 month old Julianna.
Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge is the best little town in North Georgia. It doesn't have the fake tourist feel like Helen. It's a classy little town and the area provides a lot to do for different types of people. If you want to shop and eat, just spend the day in Blue Ridge. If you want to play in the water, hit the lake or go rafting/tubing. If you want to hike, there's plenty of National Forest land to do it. Plus it's an easy 90 minutes from ATL. So you can pop up on a Friday night and stay 2 days without being exhausted from the drive. Our cabin's size and layout is perfect. If it's just two people, you'll feel right and home and not lost in a cavernous place. If it's two families, each family can stay on a separate floor so the kids can sleep as (if?) needed.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
It's a short drive over to Lake Blue Ridge and easy to get into town. We like to sit on the deck in the mornings, watch the stars in the evenings. The kids run around on the deck. We have an "I Spy" game that we will share with you where kids (or adults) can find a number of things around the cabin.

Great Relaxing Retreat

We really enjoyed this place. The home was so warm and welcoming. My "kids" loved the "I Spy" Ken sent with the directions for the cabin. Ken's directions to the cabin were GREAT. The GPS had us all over the place! Once we dug out the directions from my purse, we were there in no time. The bedroom layout works well with 2 couples. We took my parents and 2 teen children. The loft with the king size bed worked well with the kids and gave my parents their own ground level bedroom and bath. There was a great assortment of DVDs, games, CDs, and books to entertain 11yrs-76yrs. The kitchen came with everything we have at home. If we needed it, it was there. We enjoyed drinking coffee and hot chocolate on the back deck and enjoying nature. The hot tub was a great muscle relaxer after horseback riding at Blanche Manor and climbing Brasstown Bald. Don't trust your GPS to get you to a "home cooking" restaurant or Brasstown Bald for that matter. We enjoyed eating at Pat's Kountry Kitchen back in McCaysville when we visited Mercier's Orchard. We would certainly enjoy staying here again and recommend it to a friend.
Owner response:Thanks Vicki, glad to hear you guys had a great time. Yes, the GPS occasionally lead you astray down these country roads. Please make the trek up from south metro Atlanta whenever you can! -Ken & Amy

Had an amazing long weekend at your beautiful cozy cabin. Our gang enjoyed it so much! Loved the kitchen! We enjoyed cooking up big country breakfast each morning and it had everything that we needed. Was great! Enjoyed dinner out at the Cucina Rustica restaurant Friday night, highly recommend. After our first day in town of shopping and site seeing, we spend our 2nd day hiking the trials, and checking out the waterfalls. Was an amazing weekend for our gang, we all are so looking forward to coming back for another great weekend get away soon. Thanks again!
Owner response:Pat, thanks for your kind words, sounds like you had a perfect weekend of shopping and outdoors. Please come again soon-Ken & Amy

Thanksgiving at Acorn Ridge

Our Thanksgiving stay at Acorn Ridge worked out perfectly. The cabin is just as described on-line and all the details are taken care of. We had plenty of room and were very comfortable. We had several nights of fun downstairs with the pool table and enjoyed your movie collection Ken. Thanks for being so helpful. Our Thanksgiving meal at Amacalola Falls State Park was a nice change of pace and the meal was good. A wonderful, relaxing week. I highly recommend this cabin.
Owner response:Thanks David and Sandy. Glad to hear you and family had a nice time. Take care-Ken & Amy

Our party enjoyed a lovely fall weekend at Acorn Ridge cabin. We sat on the deck and enjoyed being surrounded by the trees with their autumn leaves. Occasionally, we saw a hawk soar above the trees. The mountains could be viewed from the deck as well. Inside, we enjoyed the fireplace, pool table, and board games. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and one on the outdoor grill. Beds, showers, and furniture are very comfortable. We did not try the hot tub but I wish that we had! While in the cabin, we felt cozy and away-from-it-all. Even so, restaurants and shopping are only a few minutes away. There are hiking trails and waterfalls only a short drive away as well. We had an excellent meal at a restaurant named, "Cucina Rustica." The top floor is a loft with a king sized bed and no bathroom. The main floor has a living area with fireplace, kitchen, bedroom with queen or full bed, and a bathroom. The lower level has a room with a sitting area, pool table, and cd player. The lower level also has a laundry room, bedroom (queen or full), and bathroom. We chose Acorn Ridge because pets are allowed. After seeing it, we would choose it again even if we don't bring a pet.
Owner response:Thanks Dot. Glad to hear you had a good time. There are queen beds on the main floor and lower floor, in addition to the king in the loft. Please come back anytime. Ken & Amy

About two years ago, my husband and I stayed at Acorn Ridge for the first time and loved it! Then, this past July 2011, we decided to go back again, this time with our two children, ages 13 and 16. We had a great time!! The cabin is clean, well maintained, and had everything we needed. We even grilled steaks one night! It was nice to come back to a familiar place. Ken is a wonderful host and was available when we needed him. The check in/out was easy and he has a notebook of surrounding attractions, restaurants, and stores. One of the best nights was playing several rounds of pool with the family....good family memory! Blue Ridge is a great place to visit as well. Great restaurants, cute town, and many places to hike. We went in July and it was beautiful. Thanks Ken for allowing us to come back again....I'm glad it was available on short notice!
Owner response:Karen, thanks for returning and being great guests. Come back anytime!

We had 3 adults, & 4 kids. This was a great amount because we put the 3 kids in the big king size bed in the loft, had my mother in law in the queen on ground level & my husband & I took the basement with the baby. I think that was the perfect amount of people without sleeping on the couches. This house was great because it was just like going home. It had everything. I mean everything, an excess of silverware, a FULL kitchen of supplies. They even had FOLGERS coffee for me. We were very impressed. I didn't need to bring any of the baby supplies, they had everything. The owners are very nice, I even left something behind which they have promised to get back to us. I know that doesn't happen at the hotel! I would like to note in case it's a necessity, it does only have 1 small TV in the living area & very limited channels. I know my husband had something he had planned on watching & was unable to. That was our only complaint which I think is great. I would highly recommend his cabin.
