Stay at Windhaven, a lovely 100-year-old Edwardian home in an area graced with historic homes in downtown Bar Harbor. Grocery store, drug store, post office, restaurants, shops, pier, shore path, ocean adventures and more all within one to two blocks walk. Acadia National Park is only a short drive away. The home has an inviting living room complete with a gas fireplace and a library wall filled with books. Windhaven also has a fully outfitted eat in kitchen including dishwasher and microwave. Listen to the birds sing in the morning while you eat breakfast on the quiet, private flower bedecked porch off the kitchen. Or you may choose to eat in the dining room furnished with antiques. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor. Each bedroom has its own exit to the outside. TV, wifi, DVD player, washer, dryer, iron and ironing board, wood stove and off-street parking are provided for your convenience. Enjoy a special stay in this lovely home.

We enjoyed our stay at Windhaven July 2012. although in some ways it was easy to imagine living as it was in the late 1800s, the home was very comfortable and easy to cook and live in. The kids loved the little back stairway which lead to the kitchen from the back upstairs bedroom. The house was very clean with plenty of linens. The grocery store and town were right there even tho RobertsSquare is a quiet street. Tea or lunch/dinner at Jordons Pond,Arcadia National Park is a must. We spent a few hours every day at the park walking,driving and just enjoying the beauty. Thunder Hole 45min or so before high tide was special. Allso the walk right from the house to Bar Island when the tide was out was great. Then seeing it when the tide was in was unbelievable . Shopping was as plentiful as one would want and there is not a bad ice cream cone place in town and there are many. We had friends staying at the hotel so we also ha the option of a daily swim in a beautiful pool. There are lots of games in the house cupboard for family fun. We stayed a week and did not see everything but we thought we saw a lot and had a vacation we will always remember.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We absolutely LOVED Bar Harbor and Acadia NP, and this home is in a perfect location. Easy and short walk to everything you would want to do in Bar Harbor, and quick/easy access to the park. The house is nice, and very comfortable. Make sure you get a Pat's pizza (Double dough mediterranean - yumm). Elsa was very helpful, and everything went smoothly. Thanks for a great week.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
