We have a yearly multi-generation family vacation. This was a wonderful home to host our get together! The kitchen was so accommodating for a large family meal or visit around the kitchen. The table with benches and chairs fit the entire family, plus a wonderful large bar area, as well. The house offers a nice reading/conversation sitting area, as well as a living room and separate tv room. Both living room and tv room had tvs to accommodate different interests. In addition to multiple indoor gathering areas, the house also has two nice outdoor patio areas with seating. The landscaping is beautiful! Across the street is the water, which can be viewed from every bedroom in the house! It was a real plus to have wireless internet access, that really worked! Close to a public docket, if you want to bring a boat. Neighbors were very pleasant. The directions were good and had no problem finding the place. The house was furnished nicely and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and appliances. Unfortunately, the dishes were not as well stocked. The house could use an update of plates, cups and glasses. The house was clean and well stocked with paper products and towels. We had plenty of parking space. The out of state owner provided local contact for any problems and we received calls, just to make sure things were okay. Not coming from a community as "green" it took a little bit to figure out the recycling procedure. We received some additional information from a neighbor (everyone was really friendly and it's a great place for a walk.) There is no trash pick-up. Recycling is a community event. The community recycling center is a 10 or 15 minute drive. It's all self-sort; separate bins for everything; but a fun community experience. No close grocery store. It's about 30 minutes to Brunswick for a grocery store. (They have a nice Hannaford's and Walmart.) No closer option for a full grocery. However, you can find a convenience store (for milk, bread and a newspaper) about 10 miles away. If given the opportunity to go back to the area, I would want to stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This beautiful home provided an ideal setting for my sabbatical. The location is ideal for running, walking, biking, hiking, kayaking, and just sitting outside to enjoy the wonderful views. The home and surrounding area provided an ideal setting for us to experience Maine. The commute to Brunswick is a short one. The neighbors are extremely friendly and went out of their way to welcome us to the neighborhood for our four month stay. This was our first visit to Maine, but it certainly will not be our last. The owner made the entire process, from the initial contact about the home to the return of our security deposit, extremely easy and convenient. The home is equipped with everything that you will need for a vacation or a longer stay. If you want to stay connected via phone, cable, and internet that is possible. However, the charm in this Victorian home is that you are able to disconnect and enjoy some relaxing time with your family and friends. Getting lobster at the end of the street (Dick's Lobster Shack) is a necessary experience during your stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We recently completed our summer vacation at "Seablossom" for the second summer in a row. The house is completely modern and updated inside while still maintaining a bit of that old cottage feel, The kitchen is the showplace with a large center island, recessed lighting, built-ins and is always the gathering place when we have friends visit. The yard is large, inviting, and very nicely landscaped. Sitting in the Adirondack chairs after a day of kayaking, sipping on a glass of wine, and watching the sun go down is one of those "it doesn't get any better than this" moments. The area is quiet and beautiful with water all around. You can go kayaking and watch the harbor seals pop their heads up along with the occasional dolphin leaping. If you like lobster, you can walk perhaps 500 feet to Dick's Lobster's and Crabs and they'll pull them right out of the water from a trap door in the dock. You'll never have them fresher.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, age 55+.

I feell in love with this lovely home the day I discovered it on the VRBO website. However, nothing can prepare you for the charm and attention to detail of this enchanting property. The moment I drove in, all stress magically disappeared. The house sparkles, grounds are immaculate and welcoming while the amenties are modern and up to date. Issues and concerns were dealt with prompty. I had several guests stay with me at different times during my stay and they all urged me to contact them should I decide to return. I recommend the Sea Dog Restaurant in Topsham and the Great Impasta in Brunswick. The Vegetable Garden store is a good source for grocery items when you don't want to drive to Brunswick. Be sure to pick up a quart of Gifford's ice cream for a decandent treat. Nance's Seafood Shack on 123 offers picnic dining or take out. Nance just returned from Austria where she studied pastry. Call ahead and she might be persuaded to create a strudel for you. Brunswick has a farmer's market on Tuesday and Friday. Bath offers Halcyon Yarn for fiber addict and a lovely upscale craft gallery called "Markings". There is a Maritime Museum down the road from Bath Iron Works in Bath that offers a wealth of information on the shipbuilding industry along with a two-hour cruise on the Kennebec River. Admission covers a two-day visit which is good for one week. I am confident you will enjoy each and every moment of your stay. We did!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
