This was a great little place for our first time on St Simons Island. The place was neat and clean. It being a Bottom Floor Unit with a Reserved parking spot right in front of the door was an ADDED BONUS. The area was quiet and easily accessible to ALL THE HOT SPOTS village, starbucks, grocery, health club, tennis courts, quick on and off the island, church, shops, beaches, etc.... and all other places we planned to visit. The owner was readily available to us and gave us good support when needed. We would highly recommend this property to our friends. We made two visits to Jekyll Island nearby and found the New Convention Center and Public Beach spots well worth visiting. We had lunch there at the JI Club hotel and loved it. We also went to Bonefish with our daughter and grandson and enjoyed the pleasant family atmosphere there. . We also love the Outback so we had a good night out there as well. Again, we would highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

AC and hot water were plentiful.Stove and the fridge are on the newer side. There is a flat screen in the living room-smaller one. Best place to me was out on the porch where I sat and read while it rained. The current plastic chairs out there need to be replaced with some good chairs with cushions and a table with a good reading lamp. None of the furniture pictured above was in the unit. What is there is early garage sale/thrift store. Beds must be second hand (master is sort of sleepable). One twin sags so badly a child couldn't sleep on it. Towels, sheets and rest of linens look to be from garage sale. Someone did paint a little inside the unit but the place is dark and needs much more light. No bedside lamps to read by, just a ceiling light. It rained 2 1/2 days while we were there. No DVD player for movies or cards or games or magazines. Hard pressed to find enough plates for two meals a day, cookware was bad, odd silverware, and nothing was organized.Had to search every cabinet to find a lid for a pan. Everything scattered all over the kitchen. There were 8 glasses. Couch squeaked when you sat on it and the springs went all the way to the floor-recliner smells a little musty. Second hand bikes are on the porch. There was a leak under the kitchen sink, blood spots on a twin coverlet, pet stain on the master carpet ,etc. Handle on the storm door came off in my hand. Place needs a good handyman, plumber, etc. to address all the maintenance issues. It could be better if significantly upgraded. The rooms are large, and the unit is pet friendly if that is important to you. The complex is older(Walmar Grove), pool is small but not many people there. Though the owner charges the guests a cleaning fee, she asks the paying guests to strip beds, wash sheets, towels and dry them. Also dishes. That is not the standard in most rental units. Most cleaning crews wash the linens while they are cleaning the unit if you are charged a 'cleaning fee". Owner is nice, I suspect this is her first attempt at renting.Recommended for: Pet owners.
Owner response: This is our second year with VRBO, apparently not seasoned veterans to some standards however we pride ourselves in providing a clean, practical condo for single families, couples or a group of friends to enjoy a nice, affordable beach vacation. If you are looking for a thread count over 800 or the glitz and glamour of a 5 star resort then you may want to consider staying on Sea Island. Our furnishings were all purchased new (not from a yard sale) and we have added new linens, comforters, towels and silverware just this year. The unit provides 2 full sets of dishes that are conveniently placed in the kitchen cupboard as expected. In addition, the carpets were professionally cleaned. As someone who travels regularly, I always try to make sure the accommodations are well maintained, clean and inviting for our guests and found in the same manner as I would expect as a guest. However just like your own home, fixtures can break or a pipe may leak. I depend on those who stay in our condo to notify me of these issues so that we can deal with them immediately. When we are not aware of problems then we cannot help the tenant. Unfortunately there are issues that may occur during your stay such as bad weather or the shade trees making the unit a little dim at certain times of the day. These things we have no control over and therefore do not warrant a comment as a review. They are just part of mother nature and life on the island. I personally inspected the unit prior to the above review and know first hand that the unit was clean and absolutely no blood or pet stains were anywhere to be found. Since the guest emailed me some advice following her departure on how to remove blood I would assume she or her dog was responsible for the stain. As for the cleaning fee, yes we do charge one...as to be expected. We only suggest you strip the beds and throw them in the wash. It is not mandatory as I explained to this guest prior. It simply helps to expedite the cleaning process when another arrival is scheduled on the same day as a departure. Once again, as someone who travels frequently, I ALWAYS leave the places I stay in the same manner in which I found them...a cleaning fee in no way warrants destruction of someone else's property. Our goal is to accommodate an affordable vacation for those who are seeking a nice beach vacation. We look forward to serving guests who fit this goal.

The condo was in a great location. It is close to Redfern Village (shops, restaurants) and "the roundabout." The owners were very friendly, helpful, and easy to get in touch with. The place was well stocked with towels, kitchen supplies, etc. Also, the condo's living room, dining area, and bedrooms are much bigger than the pictures make it look. So we had more space than we expected which was a nice surprise. We would certainly go back to this condo.Recommended for: Families with young children.

A perfect 3 day weekend with my wife. This was a last minute trip and i really was glad this owner was flexible with us. This was a newly remodeled cozy condo on the ground floor with a pool and 2 blocks away from a Starbucks. Yeah... Priced well under all the other places that we called about. I would definitely recommend others to consider this place if traveling to St. Simons Island, GeorgiaRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities.
