LIFE SHINES on "Sugar Shack", a luxury condominium located in the charming beach town of Seagrove, where families have been making the pilgrimage to its soothing shores since the 1940s, and the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of those early pioneers still return to relax in some of the very same cinder-block cottages of their youth. Today, Seagrove Beach is a rewarding mix of old and new, from its eclectic laid-back beach retreats to its numerous restaurants. Seagrove Beach is located on historic 30A, which is a 20-mile scenic shore tucked quietly between Destin and Panama City Beach, Florida. Speckled with artsy villages, rare coastal dune lakes, upscale resorts, funky beach bars, world-class restaurants and 25,000 acres of protected habitats, Florida's Scenic Highway 30A is the birthplace of "New Urbanism" and is also home to the most beautiful beaches in the world. Seagrove Beach is just a short bike ride or walk to Seaside and a five minute ride to Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Grayton Beach and Watercolor Beach.
SUGAR SHACK: Sugar Shack is not a typical rental property, and is not meant for everyone. It is an amazingly large, 1,800 square foot, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom + loft residence on the 4th (and top) floor of the Sugar Dunes complex, and is decorated with high end furnishings meant to be enjoyed and appreciated. It's not just a rental - it's a home away from home. Couches and duvets are not dark and patterned to hide stains. Rather Sugar Shack is exquisitely decorated to appreciate the open layout and panoramic view of the ocean. Lounge in a grand room with twenty foot ceilings or take in the sights and sounds coming from the crystal clear water and sugar white sand from a 750 square foot covered, private deck. Walk down to the beach using a door and stairway which leads directly to the sand, or stay on the patio and enjoy the sunset with a cool glass of wine and fine cheese from one of the many nearby artisanal markets nearby.
DINING: Florida's Scenic Highway 30A is home to a wonderfully diverse variety of world-class restaurants, from AAA-rated fine dining establishments to deliciously casual seafood shacks. Boasting countless awards and honors, the Chefs of 30A are among some of the most talented culinary artists in the world. Some notable culinary must haves are: (i) Old Florida Fish House (Seagrove); (ii) Café Thirty-A (Seagrove); (iii) Bud & Alley's (Seaside): (iv) Red Bar (Grayton Beach); (v) Spicy Noodle (Inlet Beach); and (vi) Fish Out Of Water (Watercolor Beach).
ADVENTURE: Rent a kayak and explore Deer Lake State Park and Eastern Lake, which are located on either side of Sugar Shack. Rent a bicycle and cruise to Seaside, Rosemary or Grayton Beaches along the 25 mile hike and bike trail located adjacent to Highway 30A. For the more adventuresome, charter a fishing guide and fish the bays for trout, redfish, and pompano, or go offshore and reel in marlin, snapper, cobia, sailfish, grouper, tuna and amberjack!
GETTING THERE & AWAY: Driving to Sugar Shack is easy from the east or west. From Destin or Panama City Beach, Highway 98 leads to Highway 30A. Once on Highway 30A, you're right around the corner! From the air, use the Panama City International Airport (ECP), which opened in 2010, has service from Southwest Airlines and Delta Airlines. Driving distance from the Panama City International Airport to Sugar Shack is just 20 minutes!

The view was amazings and the sunsets were gorgeous! Even though I loved the furniture, I put sheets over the white couch and chairs for the week, not practical when you sometime bring in some black from the sand. I would also recommend buying groceries at walmart before you get to seagrove, everything is much more pricier in the seagrove and seaside area. Over all, our vacation stay here was wonderful and would love to stay here again. We also left behind boogie boards and buckets for future guest to enjoy.Did you find this review helpful? We spent two fun filled weeks at the Sugar Shack. It was an amazing place for us to relax and enjoy life! The condo was decorated so beautiful and was very warm and inviting! A home away from home. Breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean, afternoons spent soaking up the sun or reading under an umbrella in the cool shade, and the best dinners on 30A you could imagine! We cannot wait till we can come back next year! Thank you for the great memories!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Our family just had a wonderful time at Sugar Shack. There were plenty of bedrooms and baths for a large number of people. And we were so close to the beach...literally, down our private steps to the sand. And it was just a couple minutes to Seaside. It was a wonderful location. The kitchen was well designed. The patio was wonderful for early morning coffee and just reading and visiting. Thank you for a great vacation.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

It's an amazing place to stay. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, all you see is white sand, blue water, and the tell tale aqua green band that defines the beautiful gulf beaches. And, the decor in the unit is straight out of a million dollar beach house from HGTV. A white, canvas couch? Who has a white, canvas couch in a place that is rented? It was a perfect anniversary present! What a romantic place. Both we and the couple who traveled with us will be booking again. Truly, the best place we've ever stayed.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My girlfriend and I have been at Sugar Shack this week for July 4th, and we could not have been more pleased with everything. We VRBO almost everywhere we go, and I have never seen furniture and decorations as nice as this. Usually, places have nice stuff, but they feel like a rental unit. Definitely not Sugar Shack. From the weathered wood picture frames, to the white couch, to the tongue and groove hutch, all of the furnishings are top of the line and just plain amazing. I definitely do not want to leave this morning and will be inquiring about next year as soon as we get home. We like it so much, we might come back in the fall. Sugar Shack will definitely be recommended our friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Sugar Dunes:
It would be impossible for someone to design a set of more picturesque beach communities than Seagrove, Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Grayton Beach and Alys Beach. What we specifically love about Seagrove is that it is much more quiet than its neighbors, and we often sit on the patio and watch the sunset with dolphins are our nearest neighbor. Yet, the charming square in Seaside is a cruiser bike ride away where we can enjoy delightful theatre, movies in the park, worldclass art exhibits and galleries, and excellent cuisine and nightlife. From deep fried food trailers to extremely fine dining, Seagrove has it all within walking distance. It's impossible not to let yourself slow down and enjoy the leisurely pace of life as it exists on 30a. In short, if we're not there, we're thinking about being there.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
No other house gives you 1,800 square feet, 20 foot ceilings and a covered and private 750 square foot deck with a 180 degree view of the ocean. If you look out the window, you see three colors -- blue, emerald green, and white. It just doesn't get any better than that. Plus, getting to the beach is through a private and exclusive stairway that leads from the deck directly to the sand. Sometimes we never even leave the house! But, when we do, we head to the beach or to downtown Seagrove or Seaside. No matter what, Sugar Shack is impossible not to love.
