Nestled in the pines of Tollgate, a trekker's paradise, and just minutes from the quaint western town of Sisters, you'll be in the heart of the beautiful Oregon Cascades and near the majestic Sisters Mountains- Faith, Hope and Charity!!
Bring the gang for a funfilled vacation of biking the neighborhood paths, or hiking Black Butte, just one of the nearby destinations!! Snowmobiling, skiing, snowshowing, rockclimbing, shopping in the quaint town of Sisters, golfing at one of the nearby courses are all wonderful possibilities!!
Schedule a spa treatment, make reservations for fine dining, or plan a western bbq in the fully fenced backyard. Go swimming in the seasonal pool (just a few blocks from the cabin) or play badminton, tennis, horseshoes or basketball!!
Waterskiing, wakeboarding and boating can be found at nearby Suttle Lake, or fly fish the Metolius then return home to a relaxing evening with all the amenities you're accustomed to at 'The Ponderosa'!
Visit the moviehouse in Sisters, go antiquing, and don't forget to stop for an ice cream cone or a cup of Joe at the famous Sisters Coffee House!! We stayed at this house recently and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bedrooms were spacious and the black out blinds were great. The porches were cool and a great place to sit in the heat of the day. The kids really enjoyed the pool and we appreciated the fenced back yard. The large living,dining ,kitchen area was great with lots of places to sit.I would recommend this house to my friends. The property was clean and well maintained. It was close to Black Butte for horseback riding and just a short drive to Camp Sherman and Suttle Lake. Only about 3-4 miles to Sisters.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, aunts and uncles caught up on each others lives! Thankfully, the rare raindrops encouraged togetherness!! This is the perfect place to hibernate! ...The fun, conversation, and games soaked into the logs here!! Twenty six friends and relatives came and went over the course of a wonderful three day weekend to celebrate the engagement of Ky and Creed!! Basketball 3 on 3, and ping pong tourneys, as well as murder mystery games entertained our young adults in this glorious home nestled in the pines! We came here to celebrate my brothers and his wifes 60th wedding anniversary & 80th birthday. He rented four homes here in Tollgate & my two sisters and two cousins and I rented this one. THIS WAS THE BEST ONE!!! We love your house!!!! We marvel at the huge log beams; we love the massive log furniture! The bed you have to climb into in the master bedroom is awesome! We enjoyed the bright open feeling of the windows letting in the Ponderosas. We really appreciated the shining bathrooms and spotless fixtures. The spacious counter tops made our food preperation easy....your lovely home was the perfect spot for us. Thank you for this fine home in the woods.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We welcome you to 'The Ponderosa in the Pines !!' Owned and operated by Bill and Joan, and Dave and Kathy Power, it is our family vacation home and we wish to share it with you!! We've been blessed with good jobs, good work ethics, good health, a wonderful family and many dear friends!!! We asked ourselves, if we could invest in our future and the future of our children and their children, what might the best investment be??? The answer seemed perfectly clear to Dave (my husband) as we passed this wonderful cabin again and again!! 'That's it!', he'd exclaim, as we'd continue driving, searching for a lesser home. 'That's it, that's the one!' So we finally pulled in and peaked around. As it turned out, it really was it!!!! It seemed to call to him, somehow connect us, beckoned us. It's funny. I can envision my grandchildren romping in the backyard and playing in the pool! (My children aren't even married yet) I could envision passing the afternoon with my inlaws on the back porch, while sipping lemonade..or some sun tea! I could see Dave napping in a hammock, under the shade of the pines (there are 17 on the property! But, he saw it first! Dave and I live in Salem where we work together with our twin son's Jake and Josh, at our family business Dave Power Automotive and Marine. I'm also a Realtor, specialing in the Tollgate area, as well as Detroit, Salem and surrounding areas! Our daughter Chelsea, also a Realtor, is considering a move to the Sister's area. .She's fallen in love with it here! Bill and Joan live in Bend. They fell in love with Central Oregon first!! It was Joan's idea to look in the Sisters area!! Mother's intuition???? Collectively, we've been married over 85 years, and like our wedding song, 'We've Only Just Begun!'
