Sandwich cabin description
Situated on almost an acre, this 3.5-bedroom cottage was built in the early 1930s and has been lovingly maintained and updated, though it retains its original charm. Rooms are a kitchen ( well equipped, though you will have to wash your dishes by hand), dining area, living room (the living has all sliding glass windows on to the deck that over looks the lake). There is a gas BB-Que . Two bedrooms on the lower level with Queen size beds, the two bedrooms on main floor are single bedrooms. The house overlooks the lake, with a pathway to the lake, and sits in a beautiful wooded area. The property goes down to the lake.
The comforts of home-Amenities include oil heat (useful in spring and fall), and a washer and electric dryer. The kitchen has a microwave; blender; electric coffemaker, and a french press coffee maker; plenty of dishware and cutlery; knives; pots and pans, including for cooking corn and lobster, etc. (I like to cook, so if you do too, I think you'll find most everything you need.)
There is a CD player, DVD player, fireplace, lounge chair and patio chairs, a gas grill.
For rainy days there are books, games (Scrabble, Monopoly), and jigsaw puzzles.
The lake and the area
Many people who come here just like to sit on the deck, relax, and generally unwind. People do use the lake for both kayaking and canoeing, as well as boating and skiing. There is a public boat ramp at one end of the lake,
If you are an active sort, the many attractions of Cape Cod await you, and there are lots of good restaurants. Mashpee Commons, a shopping-eating-film going destination, is about 7 miles away, and another movie theater is even closer.
Bike rental shops are located in Sandwich, Mashpee, Falmouth proper and North Falmouth, or you can bring your own.
South Cape Beach in Mashpee and Old Silver Beach in North Falmouth are both public saltwater beaches (pay to park) and the National Seashore is about an hour away.
So much to do and see
I have left various guidebooks for you. You can take any number of day trips: to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, to the National Seashore, or just poking around the Upper Cape (Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich, Barnstable, Hyannis) or take the scenic highway 6A and spend the day antiquing, checking out art galleries, ice cream shops and fried clam shacks, etc.

Enjoyed our week at the cabin - so peaceful and relaxing - fully equipped, anything you could want/need. Gas grille on the porch - Nice spot for a campfire - lake is great for swimming. Off the beaten path but just minutes to the store/town. It is not AC, but plenty of fans, and the lakefront deck is wonderful when it is a bit too warm in the cabin midday. My twenty-something sons were missing their cable/internet access- but they survived! The owners are thinking about adding cable, which would be a nice plus. Would definitely recommend as a great spot to stay on the Cape!
