Relax at the Beach and Enjoy Sunshine, Waves, and Rainbows

  The unit we stayed in was decent at first glance. However, when we arrived it hadn't been cleaned. There was food in the fridge, indicating people had left and no one had cleaned....but we thought that MAYBE they leave the food so not to waste it....we walked to the bathroom, and there was dirty sheets and towels on the floor just as we had been directed to do when we left. So we called the owner who was incredibly nice; she apologized immensely and sent someone to clean. The elevator in our building was broken for about half of of our stay, so when we arrived we had to carry all of our luggage up to the second floor. 4 of us stayed for a month- so we had a lot of luggage. When we walked in later we smelled mildew, and saw inside the vents that there were mold spores. We didn't call the owner about that one, because we didn't want her to send anyone in while we were on vacation. Halfway through our stay I got a call from the owner saying the condo was for sale, and she had a showing coming in the next morning, but it was ok for us to still be there. About a week after this incredibly annoying and unprofessional visit, we got a call requesting another showing to come through, we were so annoyed about having to acommodate other people on our vacation, we faked sick. The pool was murky the majority of the time and was closed for cleaning the rest of the time. We were interested in the pool because, obviously at nobodys fault, there were numerous jellyfish in the bay. The one time that we did use the bay, the outside shower was broken and we had to track all of the sand into the condo. We alerted them to the problem, and it didn't get fixed for 3 weeks-the duration of our stay. When we had first rented the condo, we were told a price for the month. Shortly after I had booked it, I got a call from the owner stating that the manager had been fired, and any deal I had worked out with her was invalid. Instead of the original price, it increased by a couple hundred dollars. It wasn't worth the original price. The people were incredibly nice, and Corpus Christi was fantastic, but it was too much stress for our type of vacation.

  This beach condo was as advertised, however we were surprised to see how rundown the overall property was. Photos of the building the condo was in were never shown. The condo was not as clean as we would have liked, couch needs to be replaced, along with all couch and chair pillows. We enjoyed long walks on the beach, Fajitaville Restaurant (just down the beach), and The Lexington aircraft carrier tour.

  Owner response: I am sorry the condo was not as clean as the guests expected, and I will address the issue with the cleaning crew. The couch is actually a folding futon bed, and two of the cushions were purchased in April. The Villas have been undergoing painting and renovations to the balconies and walkways for the last two years. It takes time for a complex this size to be completely redone, and the owners are paying for the renovations and maintenance in their monthly dues and special assessments. I hope these guests will come back for another visit and have a better experience next time!

  I lived here for about 8 months while stationed at NAS Corpus Christi and loved every minute of it. It was very quiet, clean and affordable. The beaches were very clean as well. I never had any problems with the condo and when I needed to speak with the landlord she was always available. In addition, this was probably the first place that I've rented in which I was given all of my deposit back. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone for either a short or long term rental.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

  Our condo stay was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was clean and spacious and the view to the beach was just amazing...!! The kitchen was especially excellent with all the dishes available as we watched the the scenery and cable t.v. The balcony was just so relaxing at night as the sun went down and the sound of the ocean relaxed you... We would definately go back again and invite our friends... rest assured we felt comfortable... thanks again :)

  Wonderful waterfront condo! We spent 4 mos. there and loved it! Very clean and comfortable with great views. Owner is kindness itself and very willing to be helpful. Nice aquarium and small museum for rainy days. Sit on the balcony and watch the ships come into port or actually visit the Lexington permanently docked just walking distance away. Great golf for beautiful days. Rare spoonbills in the spring for birdwatchers. Close by Port Aransas and Corpus Christi for special dining experiences. Would recommend this property without reservation to anyone.

  Owner response: There is always something fun to do nearby; or you can do nothing and just relax on the balcony, in the hot tub, or down at the beach. I am so glad you got to see the spoonbills! They are beautiful.

  I'm not the type to write reviews but I could not let this one slide by. My husband and two children were very excited to go on vacation here. When booked our place a month in advance. Only to drive 5 hours and arrive with a non working tv. I pulled the couch down for my son to sleep on only to find a cockroach running across the wall. I talked to Leslie the next day and she was very nice and told me she had another condo we could stay in. We took her up on her offer and ended up staying there a few days. We cut our time short because the condo just was not nice. But here is the kicker...Leslie told us we would receive our money back. Now, 3 months later we have not received any money. Only excuse after excuse! DO NOT STAY HERE! The place is gross and they will not give you your money back. CROOKS!!!

  Owner response: I am very sorry these guests had an uncomfortable stay and a bad experience at my condo. I was on a family trip in October when this happened, and wasn't aware of the problem. The television and DVD player were working, and are under warranty, but somehow the cable wiring to some of the units had been cut. It took Time Warner 3 weeks to fix it and restore service. There isn't much we can do about the cable, since the condominium complex has a contract with Time Warner. Guests are asked to throw away all leftover food, and take out the trash before they check out. In addition, the condo is cleaned as soon as guests leave so there is no leftover food to attract roaches or ants. The entire complex is on a monthly spraying program, too. Unfortunately, bugs are a fact of life at the coast, with its year-round warm weather, and they can come in from other units or outside. Leslie did her best to help these guests enjoy their visit by relocating them to another condo, but during this time she had a death in the family and other personal issues to deal with. This is not an excuse, but a clarification for why she was slow to send a refund once the guests notified her they had left. Now that I am aware of the problem, I have made changes to our system so that Leslie does not have to be responsible any more for deposits, cancellation fees, or refunds in the future. She just returned from Christmas vacation, and has put the refund for the cancelled days in the mail. I apologize for the bad experience these guests had, and have made changes that should improve our booking system.
