  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mr. Krabs. The owner was a pleasure to work with. The cottage is so cute and very comfortable. It sits just on the beach. The views are incredible....very relaxing. It was wonderful to enjoy morning coffee on the deck and watch the dolphins. Loved it!!! It was our first visit to Oak Island and Mr. Krabs. We happily look forward to a future stay. The cottage, the beach, the area is VERY family friendly. Great weekend. Thanks to the owners!!!! (And awesome artwork by Will!!! My 8yr. old son was impressed and very encouraged to do more of his own art!!)

  This had to be one of my most favorite long weekends. Sitting on the deck watching the sun rising on the ocean with a cup of coffee...ahhhhh. Your home is very comfortable, perfect for our family and dogs. We definitely would love to stay at Mr Krabs again.

  Perfect beachfront accommodation with full kitchen and plenty of room. Also just a short drive to grocery and restaurants on Oak Island and a reasonable drive into historic Southport, where you can easily spend the day eating and shopping along the waterfront. My fourth trip to this paradise, and I hope not my last!

  This was the perfect vacaion home for my family of 5. We have a 15, 12 and 5 year old that it is ery hard to plan something as a family. This was the perfect place! The bedrooms were nice and roomy and the beds were sooooo comfy! Beautful deck overlooking the beach. We could spend the day on the beach without worring about thekids. Very safe! My husband and I enjoyed our coffee each morning on it. Mr. Krabs was the perfect location to EVERYTHING. The beach was just a short walk over the dunes and grocery shopping was just around the corner. My girls walked to shopping and to ice cream throughout the week. Mr. Krabs had the perfect summer cottage feel and had everything needed to live. Very clean and loved the homey feel of it. We loved the fact that we could bring our dog too! The walks on the beach will be missed!!! We will definately book this home again! Thanks Kathleen and Mike for an unforgettable time!

  We rented this cottage in August of 2011. We had flown in my parents to celebrate their anniversary and were looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beach. In all, there were 6 of us and one dog. This proved to be the perfect location for a wonderful, relaxing vacation on the beach. Oak Island beach is a great beach for sunbathing, swimming or even athletic activities. The owner of Mr. Krabs is very accommodating and easy to work with. When we arrived, we noticed that there was an issue with the hinges on one of the exterior doors. I texted the caretaker and he arrived to repair the door within 1.5 hours. We only encountered one other problem while staying at Mr. Krabs. Kathleen was fully understanding and resolved it much to our satisfaction. The house is set up well so that everyone has a nice private bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have doors which open to the porch. With a large porch and a deck, there is plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors. A very short walk over the dune (which will be the only thing separating you from the beach) and you are walking on the beach. This is a quiet area, perfect for families or those looking to kick back and relax.

  Our family had an amasing stay at Mr. Krabs.The beach house was perfect, nice deck and porch that overlooked the beach and dunes.The evening were lovely sitting in the rocking chairs and listening to the waves crash in.The setup of the house was great also,our group was made up of young and old and the split setup with two bathrooms was just right.You are located just steps from the beach and all you could need can be found just around the corner from the house.The house also was nice and private no house on either side made for nice evening and lots of privacy.From our beach access you can see the Oak Island lighthouse and also the peir,it was a great view either way you look.All in all great communication with owner,clean,and very well setup and beach decorated.Loved the place.We are already talking about another trip next year if not sooner.Kathleen thank you for a wonderful stay.

  Mr. Krabs is a perfect beachfront property. With a great back deck and screened-in porch area, you can maximize your oceanfront time. The beds were very comfortable, and the layout of the rooms made it very accomodating to our travel party. Also, access to nearby stores and restaurants was very convenient. I would definitely choose to stay there again and would also recommend it to friends & family.

  My family and I have enjoyed Mr. Krabs many times! It has a charming appearance and homey feel unusual in a beach rental house. It is obviously well-loved by the owners and maintained that way. It's on a nice part of the beach and convenient to shopping. The combination covered porch and sunporch offers options perfect for any time of year.

Cancellation policy:


Mr. Krabs 5525 East Beach Drive Oak Island, NC 28465 
1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3 P.M. EST AND CHECK-OUT IS 10 A.M. EST. 
NO Early Check-in or late check-out. 
2. This is a NON SMOKING unit. 
3. Pets are not permitted in home unless I have been notified and pet fee is received. 
4. DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT- A damage/reservation deposit of $200 is required. This must be received within seven (7) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable provided the following provisions are met. 
a. No damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear. 
b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay. 
c. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in trash cans, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned. We also provide recycling so be sure only recyclable materials are placed in blue receptacle marked recycling.
d. All keys are left on the kitchen table or placed back in the key box and unit is left locked unless other arrangements have been made with owner. 
e. All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure. 
f. No linens are lost or damaged. 
g. NO Early check-in or late check-out. 
i. The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner), the local law enforcement, or the security company employed to watch over Mr. Krabs. 
5. PAYMENT – An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required within in 10 days of making the reservation. The advance payment will be applied toward the room rent. Our preferred method of payment is e-check through the online booking system. Other arrangements can be made to make payments in the form of credit cards, cashiers checks or personal checks payable to Kathleen Murray. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due thirty (30) days before your arrival date. 
6. CANCELLATIONS: A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date are subject to a 5% Cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, or that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. 7. MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS – Monthly renters must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to check-in. 
8. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests per Mr. Krabs is limited to ten (10) persons. THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A TWO (2) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY. 
9. Longer minimum stays may be required during peak and holiday periods. 
12. RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice. 
13. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. 
14. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. 
16. HURRICANE OR STORM POLICY – HURRICANE OR STORM POLICY (beach property): No refunds will be given. 17. TRAVEL INSURANCE: We highly recommend your purchase travel insurance. If you wish to purchase travel insurance go to www.vrbo.com and search travel insurance. I agree that all rental monies are non-refundable per cancellation policy above.
