  We found this rental when we were looking for someplace near the larger cabin further north around the lake where some friends of ours were staying. We much preferred this charming "Bluebird Cottage," which had everything our family of three needed for a relaxing vacation. (Our 8-yr-old daughter especially adored the large roll-top desk in "her room" i.e. the 2nd bedroom and immediately sat down to work at it, storing away her pencil case and art supplies in the drawers and cubicles.) The owner Jan (and proprietor Dave) was warm and attentive, including providing a couple of sleds we could take with us if we wanted to find a hill somewhere to use them. The location was just blocks from a Jensen's grocery store on State Hwy 173 and a brief drive to Lake Arrowhead village. We'd be glad to come back here anytime and will certainly recommend this "home away from home" to friends.

  This is the cottage you dream of! We stayed there for three days immediately after working through the holidays -- and I could not ask for more. It is nice and clean, kitchen is well appointed, bright and has a fantastic view - every room in the cottage has big windows. Fire place was great, we watched movies, read books, made great meals, took walks around the beautiful lake and even made time to check out the village. I will recommend this to everybody who needs to get out of the city for a little while. Jan was great and very accommodating and so was Dan (who takes care of the cottage). Again, We can't thank you guys enough and hope to return some day in the future. Best M & J

  Thank you for a wonderful stay at Bluebird cottage. We really appreciated the lake view from the porch and master bedroom and being surrounded by pine trees. I also enjoyed running at the "ALA" lake trail near the cottage and feeding peanut butter covered pine cones to the mountain chickadee off the porch with our kids. The cabin is very clean and bright, has a fully set up kitchen, and works great for a small family. We look forward to visiting again!

  We just loved our stay at the cottage. As you know it was meant to be an old fashioned 4th for my granddaughter. We found an ideal spot on the lake ( below stairway #7 ) to view the fireworks which were magical on the water. A real community spirit from the docks to the boats to the pathway. Bar-B-Qs on the deck were lovely until late into the evening. The view is wonderful but especially from the deck and master window-seat. We loved the beach at Tavern Bay for kids. Dave and Cherry were great and thank you so much for a copy of your book. Thank you for sharing your cottage Linda
