We cannot say enough nice things about this property. The house has the most "homey" comfortable feel. We really did not care to go anywhere - we enjoyed the house so much. We sit for two hours in the front yard watching the Williams River run slowly by and the leaves fall off the trees; so peaceful and so relaxing. The beds and covers are perfect - so cozy. If we did not have grandchildren in Texas, we would want to live in this beautiful home forever. Also Great Barrington is a great, enjoyable town. We would recommend this listing as more than EXCELLENT!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My 4 friends and I stayed here for the weekend. The house is wonderfully appointed with all of the amenities one could ask for, It is charming, beautiful and it was immaculate. The locations is perfect if you plan to take advantage of the wonderful cultural and outdoor venues available in the Berkshires. The owner made it so easy to rent and is totally committed to making sure his guests are comfortable and welcome. I highly recommend this rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I was looking for a welcoming home where my dog and I could relax, hike and enjoy all the area had to offer. I found it in this home set in a beautiful, relaxing environ ment. The house is spacious, well appointed and full of the extra amenities that make a house a home. We hiked Monument Mountain (1.7 miles), Benedict Pond (1.5 miles) and the shorter, newly developing trail on the Housatonic. Locally, Guido's Market is a must! Local retail stores offered a variety of interesting goods which I did not totally resist! I highly and happily recommend this home for your next "time away" from your home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Great Barrington at this wonderful and unique house. The park-like setting is next to a brook and we enjoyed "al fresco" dining on the patio every night. The owner is very attentive and left wine and cookies as an arrival gift. We went twice to to enjoy music at the Guthrie Center which is a walk around the corner (don't miss Thursday's Hootenanny) and saw Judy Collings at the Mahaiwie in Great Barrington. We also enjoyed running and biking in the neighborhood and hiked Monument Mountain and the trail to Bash Bish Falls. The kayaking on nearby Lake Buel and the Housatonic was great.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The photos absolutely do not do this marvelous property justice! We enjoyed a terrific two weeks here over Memorial Day weekend. The house is beautiful, well-equipped, immaculately clean and located very conveniently between Great Barrington and Housatonic. The owners are extremely responsive and dealt with all of our questions very promptly. I highly recommend it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We stayed for three nights and throughly enjoyed ourselves. The house was large and spacious but had a very comfortable, relaxed feeling. The exquisite design and detail in the home was a pleasent surprise. Our children were amazed by some new detail around every corner. The two fireplaces in one room was a big hit and very cozy to sit around at night while playing board games. The owners were a delight to work with and we look forward to visiting again in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Great house. I stayed there last weekend with five of my friends and we couldn't have been happier with it. The living room is spacious and beautiful and homey and we sat around the fireplace for hours. The owners were so attentive, checking in to see if we needed anything, and leaving wine and snacks for us. We all hope to come back some time.Did you find this review helpful? Spent a week here with our 6 children aged 2 to 12. A good location for day trips to canoe at Onota, hike at Monument Mountain, and visit a museum. And a sturdy home to ride out the remnants of Irene! Russ and Lewis were very responsive to our needs and desires. Great Barrington has a neat river walk. The house has a great deal of character and charm. We'd love to come again soon ... the photos on the website don't do it justice. Very Peaceful ... our favorite VRBO house to date ...Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: I'm so glad you and your children enjoyed your stay at our house. Hope you visit again soon.

The house was wonderful --- what a beautiful spot you have there in the Berkshires. We loved Great Barrington (esp. SoCo creamery) and enjoyed biking to the bakery in Housatonic and hiking up Monument Mountain. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our dog loved it too! We'd love to come back some day.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

We had a great time. I already miss the house. It has great character, and I love the architectural details. We appreciated the improvements you made. We also enjoyed using the fireplace and your collection of DVDs. We also appreciated the wine and goodies you left for us. We would like to rent the house again next summer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
