Epic Views Overlooking Deep Hollow Ranch 2013 Rented
- Minimum stay:7 nights

This immaculate Nantucket-style home is in one of Montauk’s most spectacular & exclusive locations near the Warhol estate. Sweeping views from almost every room across the pristine fields of 'The Ranch' to the ocean beyond. A tranquil Montauk oasis in an “estate” neighborhood, the property is minutes to Ditch Plains and Montauk’s best surf breaks (Warhol’s, the Ranch). This is a beautiful, comfortable home, not a generic rental house. Nothing has been overlooked… antiques, art & delightful touches throughout (plus wi-fi, A/C, luxe linens etc). The house is light-filled and features a beach stone fireplace, Belgian linen sofas, a 'cook’s” kitchen, family room, den/guestroom, spacious master bedroom, 2 additional bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Even a 500 sq ft office (additional). The property is beautifully landscaped with a huge lawn & flower/vegetable gardens. Plus a hot tub, covered porch, slate patios, outdoor shower, grill & hammock. All adjacent to 1000’s of acres of parkland. Heaven!
Unique location: The house is located on a dead end road in Montauk's most exclusive south of the highway neighborhood. Most of the other homes on this road are oceanfront estates and there are no other homes for rent in this area. You can walk across the highway to go on one the most beautiful beach rides you'll ever experience (or board your horse). You are only minutes from everything Montauk has to offer but you'll feel like you're worlds away. The Lighthouse and Camp Hero State Park are down the road, 1000's of acres of state and county parks with hiking, horseback riding and biking trails are adjacent to the property.
The ocean is about a half mile away. You can get there on a beautiful new walking trail through Amsterdam Beach State Park. It's about a 15-20 minute walk (the trail 'meanders' a bit and can get 'buggy' in August).
Adjacent preserves and parks: Amsterdam Beach State Park, Theordore Roosevelt County Park, Camp Hero State Park, Andy Warhol Preserve, Montauk Point State Park
Beaches, surfing, hiking, biking, riding!: Whether you're just learning to surf at famous Ditch Plain Beach or you're looking for a more challenging wave at the Ranch, Warhols or Turtles, you're a 2 minute drive (or a 10 minute bike and 15-20 minute walk) away. We will help you obtain beach parking passes (around $300). For kayakers, stand up paddlers and families who want calmer waters, Gin Beach and Navy Road Beach are great nearby options.
Note: a new trail is being developed in Amsterdam Beach State Park which will give you walking access from our house to beaches (and surf breaks) that were otherwise difficult to reach.
Deep Hollow Ranch is down the road and offers one of the most beautiful beach rides I've even been on. The riding trails are also great for hiking down to the Sound.
There’s nothing “McMansion” or generic about this beautiful Nantucket-style home. It was built by a cabinetmaker and decorated by an art director/designer. Craftsmanship and care is evident in every detail, from the Shaker inspired built-ins to the hand-turned stair railing leading to the second floor.
The interior feels spacious and intimate at the same time with a wonderful flow from room to room. Nothing has been overlooked in terms of comfort and livability. This is a true home, not a generically furnished rental house. The décor is an artful blend of antiques, modern and vintage furniture and art, as well as unexpected touches like the giant turtle shells.
The exterior design was based on historic Second House (late 1600’s) which may explain why the house feels so natural in it’s spectacular Montauk surroundings.
You and your guests will be comfortable here. Imagine the fun you'll have dining alfresco or at the our antique farm table. Children and families love it here!

The month we spend here was a wonderfull experience for our family. We came from Paris, where we live, with our two kids to have an american experience and have the opportunity of being into the wild for a while :-) All was positive: the house, the garden, the views and of course the owners thet have being very nice with us! We were so happy that we repeat the experience July 2013! We love this place and we love Montauk!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children.

My husband and I spent two weeks with our children (ages 9 and 12) plus nanny at this charming farm house. This is a tastefully decorated home with lovely pastoral views and a big back garden. The furnishings and beds were all comfortable, and the linens provided were good quality. We appreciated all the fluffy towels and great showers! The kitchen is great for those who want to cook, and there is everything you need to make big family meals. All the equipment worked well, including the big washer & dryer, which we used a lot after our long days of biking and surfing. We found it more convenient to drive to the surf beach, but enjoyed the location for its serenity and charm. It isnt too far to bike to the beach or town, which we all did a few times. The best restaurants are a short drive away (although we preferred eating at the big farm table in the kitchen). The owners are very nice local people and couldnt have been more helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this rental to anyone with a family who wants to be outside the traffic zone of downtown Montauk.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

There's no place like... this place in Montauk. Our family usually rents in Nantucket but last year we decided to change things up and rent in Montauk. This is the best hours we've ever rented - for lots of reasons, it's totally charming, the setting is truly breathtaking, the views are spectacular, my kids loved the huge lawn and the beaches, which are really close. (The owners were great in every way and helped us get permits). Everything was so comfortable - but more than that, it was a real home with beautiful artistic touches. I almost didn't want to write a review because we'll be back for sure! It's a hidden gem.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
