Casa De La Bahia (House of the Bay) is a beautiful 3,000 square foot mountain-side house with a stunning Caribbean ocean view. Built in 2011, the two-story house overlooks the Bay and Town of Trujillo. The house occupies a large half-acre lot and is surrounded by palm trees and natural vegetation, providing guests maximum privacy and phenomenal views of Honduras' foliage and wildlife. The house features an infinity pool, deck, barbeque, large kitchen with granite countertops, and beautiful locally made handcrafted furniture.
Main Floor:
The main floor features a pool and deck area with an infinity pool that overlooks the Bay of Trujillo, 2 lounge chairs, 1 glass-top patio table with 6 chairs, 1 shelving unit to hold glasses and towels, and 1 stainless steel BBQ. There is a large kitchen with granite counter tops, an island with 6 bar chairs, gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, juicer, blender, can opener, mix master, and dishes, glasses and cutlery for 12. There is a dining room table with 2 leaves that extend to fit 12 people. The living room has a large 48 inch flat screen TV with satellite cable, tables, and comfortable furniture that will easily seat 8 people. There is a 2-piece bathroom on the main floor and a laundry room with a front loading stainless steel washer and dryer. There is a small reading area with bookshelves underneath the staircase.
Upper Floor:
The 2nd floor holds a common sitting area with a large shelving unit, queen size sofa bed (which comfortably sleeps 2), love seat, chair and tables. The master bedroom is very large and complete with a king bed, 2 night stands, cupboard with coffee maker, 52 inch flat screen TV with satellite cable, small table and 2 chairs, large lounger and table for reading. There are 2 spare rooms each featuring built-in closets, queen size beds and night stands. The outside deck of the 2nd floor is open across the entire front of the house overlooking the bay. It has a café table and 2 chairs outside of the 2 spare rooms and another café table outside the master bedroom with 4 chairs and 2 hammocks. There is a large en-suite 3-piece bathroom off the master bedroom featuring a two-sink countertop. There is an additional 3-piece bathroom to be shared between the 2 spare rooms.
Additional Notes:
~ There are 2 water dispensers in the house, one on each floor.
~ The kitchen is fully stocked with spices, sugar, coffee, powdered cream for coffee, cooking oils, etc.
~ You are responsible for cleaning during your stay, however if you wish a cleaning service can be arranged.

Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: One of the first people you will meet is Cathy Bernier, a home grown Canadian that is now considered a Trujillo treasure. She’s one of the first people most clients meet as part of her work in Honduras is to meet and greet clients at the airport and help get them settled. Cathy has lived in Trujillo for the past four years and has an extensive knowledge of the area, the Canadian housing developments of Life Vision Properties, the culture and the language (although she admits to still be working on her Spanish). She came to Trujillo to work and has stayed to make a new life and a new home in Trujillo, Honduras.

This house is a beautiful vacation property in a secure gated community located where the rainforest jungle meets the Caribbean sea of the Bay of Trujillo. Trujillo is the next up and coming vacation destination with lots of history and wonderful things to see and do.

The view of the Bay of Trujillo, located on the Caribbean Sea and overlooking the village is absolutely breathtaking. You can do this while swimming in the infinity pool or just sitting on either deck relaxing with a book. All this while you are surrounded by the rainforest sights, sounds and smells. There is so much beauty in the area but the true beauty is first and foremost the people of the area.
