La Paz house description
Be part of the community in this 1,750 SF two bedroom home in the heart of downtown La Paz. Two blocks from the Malecon -- a tile-paved walking area that lines the La Paz Bay. Join natives and visitors in daily strolls along the malecon, viewing pelicans, frigate birds, and sailboats. Get a front row seat for each gorgeous sunset. This home is walking distance to everything you need -- the french bread bakery, fresh Veracruz coffee roaster, fish taco stands, fresh food market, small neighborhood grocery stores, pottery shops, suberb restaurants, and artisan shops, local natural food market. It is also close to car rental outlets if you want to travel further afield. You can kayak to island Espiritu Santo with local outfitters. There are great restaurants serving all sorts of international foods, including crepes and gelato!
The home has been freshly updated with all new furniture, including new mattresses for the king master bedroom and 2nd bedroom with two twin beds. Each bedroom has its own bath. The set up is great for families or two couples. One-level living good-- no stairs to climb. It has a private pergola area in the backyard for sipping margaritas or your moning coffee, playing games, or reading books. There is a 27' flat screen TV that gets a few local stations, or plays DVDs and VCR tapes. There is a small collection waiting for you, along with many jigsaw puzzles. You can stay connected to home by Hi-Speed internet. There is a printer there for the sad time when you have to print your boarding pass. Relax and sit in the backyard canvas swing or hammock and view guava, orange and palm trees. The hummingbird feeder is very active! The modern kitchen is equipped with everything you need, or use the gas BBQ. The new washing machine is great. I wish I had it at home! Use of two mountain bikes in included for short trips to the local market.
La Paz is an authentic Mexican city -- not an Americano resort. Be prepared for a true exotic experience.

A hidden gem! Not to be missed!
A hidden gem! Not to be missed!
This place is a gem! The location is fabulous. Just 2 blocks off the Malecon & few blocks away from Marina de La Paz. It's surrounded by all kinds of great little place to eat & within walking (or biking) distance of most everything! We stayed at Casa Isabella for a month & had the time of our lives. The house was more than we had hoped for. Even though it's small, it's spacious, clean, comfortable, recently remodeled with up-to-date amenities, wi-fi and the bed was quite comfortable. Believe it or not, the place is even cuter than the photos. It's a detached house, so there is off the street parking & a lovely private patio in the backyard. In the mornings we loved sitting out on the back patio sipping our coffee, listening to the birds & watching the hummingbirds, as the sun rose over the back wall to warm us. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting out there relaxing after a long day under the twinkling lights of the pergola sipping a cool drink. Although there is a nice little, adequately equipped kitchen we found that we rarely ate in due to all the fun local places to try nearby. Though, I must admit that we did entertain a couple nights when I couldn't resist buying some fresh shrimp, seafood & produce from the local Bravo Mercado about 4 blocks away! Victor, the property manager, is great! He met us promptly with the keys, walked us through the house & was always available to assist us in any way. Being local, he's a great source of information if you're looking for something to do, a good place to eat or local activities. Bonnie & Paul were a pleasure to deal with. They were always just an email away to answer questions & make us feel welcome. It felt like we were renting from friends not strangers. We had a wonderful visit that surpassed our expectations & intend to return again next winter! PS The Shack is right around the corner on Allende & serves probably some of the best food in town! Travis's burgers & "specials of the day" are unsurpassed in a very friendly, low key, unassuming venue. Another favorite is McFisher's on Morales & Madero about a 20 min. walk away. Reasonable prices for fabulous fresh food.

About the owner: We first visited La Paz in 1995 and fell in love with the authentic nature of the community. We love to kayak, bike, and soak up the sunshine. We love that the waterfront is not lined with hotels.
Why the Owner Chose La Paz:
La Paz feels very safe and even though our Spanish is dreadful, the locals are kind and patient. We want to use this home in our retirement, but until then, you can share it with us!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to walk everywhere in the downtown -- bookstores, groceries for fresh tortillas, fresh coffee, fish tacos. Staying a home is wonderful, too! This neighborhood is very welcoming. Neighbors on both sides came to welcome us on our first visit.
