Freeport townhome description
Roll out of bed and on to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas. Tyne Beach Terrace affords the best of both worlds. The ultimate in privacy, often you'll be the only people on the beach. While the property is very secluded, it is also in close proximity to Port Lucaya with fabulous restaurants, fun island shopping, and a casino with a popular nightclub. Your vacation paradise is just ten minutes from the airport and five minute from the International Bazaar with more shopping and fresh fish vendors.
As the western end unit, the sunsets are magnificent and the large patio faces the ocean in the front and the canal on the side. It's the perfect place to enjoy your favorite tropical drink while you soak in the views or you soak in the sun. The swimming pool is just steps from the front door with plenty of chaise lounges.
Fabulous snorkeling can be enjoyed right there in crystal clear aquamarine waters off the beach with a diverse array of tropical fish and mantas. Two tiki huts and a pavillion for residents and guests only provide a great place to get out of the sun to read or take a nap.
The ocean front bedroom contains one queen size bed and the pool side bedroom has two twin beds which can be converted to a king size bed. The full bath is upstairs and the half bath downstairs.

We rented this property for 2 weeks in January 2013, two of us and our 8 month old son. The interaction with the owner was seamless with quick responses to any and all questions. Upon arrival we were pleased to discover that the unit is two floors (if it was stated in the description I missed it), which was idea for a napping baby. The unit is modestly but more than adequately appointed and clean. During our stay, I believe that only 5 of the 18 units in this complex were occupied, though even if it was packed I believe the design would stop any unwanted noise, none the less we felt like it was our own personal paradise, seeing few tenants and just a few people on the beach. The pool is 20 feet from the front door, the beach 100 feet from the back, the private patio area (walled) is huge maybe 700 square feet with a patio table and lots of area for sunbathing or baby roaming area. We did not rent a car during our stay and traveled to town (10min/$18 by cab) only a couple of times, there is a small mall with a food store a 20 minute walk away, it has basically has everything you need (no booze though). The people are so friendly, grocery clerks asking if we needed help finding anything (we could use that customer service here!) and people slowing down as they drove past to say good morning/aft. Beach.... Wow 4 miles of beach white sand and virtually empty, I expected that Sunday it would fill up with families after church but this was not the case. Our son loved the clear water and enjoyed eating the sand, it was shallow with no undertow and gradual slope into the water that is perfect for children. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet get away, if you are looking for a party this is not the place for you. We enjoy the beach and a place to relax and recharge, we found it here.

We spent a May week in this rental and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The unit was a clean and well appointed end unit, with magnificent south western views of the shipping channel and ocean. A sparkling clean pool was just outside the front door and the beach only steps away along well maintained grounds from the large outdoor patio that surrounds the unit. The property was clean and well manicured, with two tiki huts for shade located along the beautiful, secluded beach front. We loved the privacy that this end unit provided and spent evening hours on the patio on the lower level or spacious balcony outside the bedroom watching the lights of massive ships passing by along the shipping channel and going into port in the western horizon. There were lounge chairs for the beach and unexpected, but well appreciated owner provided cushions and towels for us to use at either the beach or pool. The small kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, which could be taken in the dining area or out on our own private patio where a picnic table was located. The location was very convenient, only a few minutes drive to the shops at the International Bazaar in Freeport and less than 10 to all the shops and restaurants at Port Lucaya. There was a completely stocked grocery located just a couple minutes up the street that provided any food stuffs we needed during our stay. The owner was prompt to communicate and answer all our questions prior to arrival. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative and wouldn't hesitate to return there ourselves.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: I started traveling to Grand Bahama in 1998 and shortly therafter started looking at real estate. Over the years to follow I'd seen many different places on the island, but kept coming back to this beach. It really is a very special place. Some days the ocean is so calm I call it 'Lake Tyne.' It truly offers an exceptional vacation experience.
Why the Owner Chose Freeport:
The privacy at Tyne Beach is extraordinary. The remaining 19 units in the building are owned by many people who use them infrequently, so if you are looking to escape humanity- this is the place. The location, though, is also convenient to the airport, to different attractions and to Port Lucaya. So you really can have the best of both worlds.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The sunsets are so magnificent, I've had family members and guests toast them and applaud them. Because it is the western end unit, the view is unique. Being the closest unit to the pool is also a benefit. There are aloe plants on the patio and in the flower box on the wrap around balcony on the second floor in case you've gotten too much sun. Simply cut a leave in half and rub the liquid on your skin for instant sun burn relief. The pavillion and tiki huts on the beach afford relief from the sun and are a great place to read or catch a nap on the beach.
