Cheshire barn description

Welcome to Mason Hill - a celebration of everything we love about the Berkshires. Mountain views, stone walls, sloping green hills, the sound of a brook clear running to sing you to sleep, and an exquisitely restored barn home all contribute to a true New England experience. With stunning views of the Kitchen Brook gorge and falls, mountain meadows and refined furnishing and amenities, the historic Mason Hill farm has been a favored, repeat destinatio for a Berkshire stay for visitors from near and far. More than a vacation rental it has become a tradition for many, where family and friends gather, fun activities are shared and the heritage of the past comes alive evey day. Built in 1815 on a hilltop in Cheshire, MA, Mason Hill offers a fully modern and equipped gourmet kitchen with dual fuel Siemens oven, and a large and comfortable living room and bar area. The adjacent large bedroom also accommodates a superlative library. The home includes full bath (shower and tub), full laundry facilities, and an outdoor cedar-lined shower with a view to the sky. One queen and one bunk bed in BR; two singles in semi-private sleeping area off the living room and one double bed in a semi-private sleeping area off the kitchen. A large deck on the west side of the barn is a glorious outdoor sitting area for a casual meal, or a quiet afternoon of reading, all the while listening to the brook and enjoying the fresh Berkshire air. A second deck and outdoor shower area are located on the south side of the barn. From there, thirty large granite steps lead to a rustic cabin and the scenic Kitchen Brook gorge. A large stone fire pit adjacent to the cabin is an ideal spot for a family campfire or musical evening. The cabin has a single bunk bed, large rustic desk and a wood stove for heat. And we have recently added a smaller cabin and fire pit on the hillside overlooking the gorge. Rental is for entire property, two-night minimum. We utilize earth and human friendly cleaning products and Seventh Generation sprays and other earth friendly products. Within easy driving distance of the Clark Art Museum, Williams College, Mass MOCA and other Berkshire attractions. You will find activities for all ages close by. Ride your bike...or a rental...on the scenic Ashuwilticook Bike trail. Fish in the lake with the kids, or just relax on the lake shore. Or hike on more than 20 marked trails on Mount Greylock and the surrounding area. We cordially invite you to experience he uniqueness of a Mason Hill vacation.
