This beautiful waterfront home supplies immediate access to all of Hatteras Island's natural resources. A private dock on the last undeveloped deep water harbor on the island allows for a quick boat run to your destination. Whether its heading out of the inlet for an inshore/offshore fishing adventure, or taking advantage of easy access to the local clam beds and sand reef, you're guaranteed to spend most of your time having fun versus trying to get there.

Great water views surround you on this site where our family's seafood business ("The Ice House") was owned and operated for many years. The business is gone now and this beautiful new home stands in its place. Our fond memories of that time are obvious in the personal pictures and unique decor we will now share with you.

The Ice House is newly built with current amenities and comfortable appointments. 2011 is its first season on the rental market. Four bedrooms comfortably sleep nine guests. There are two master bedrooms, one upstairs one downstairs. Each are equipped with King size beds, jetted tubs and spacious showers. There is a first floor guest room with a Queen size bed. And, a first floor kids room with pyramid style bunk beds (single on top and a double below).

The open floor plan upstairs incorporates the kitchen and bar into the living area and there is plenty of room downstairs when you want to get away from the group. Both the first and second floor have private northwestern facing decks and there is a crow's nest on the roof. All three provide a daily opportunity to pause and watch the sun melt into the sound. Conveniences like a separate ice maker in the kitchen, a dumb waiter to each floor, high end audio/video equipment and a well lit dock with fish cleaning table showcase the thought we have put into this place. We believe you will appreciate the quality of this house and will want to come back again and again.

Finally, to help make your stay as enjoyable and relaxed as possible we have teamed with Shore Details, a premier property management company led by friendly and helpful owners Pam and Rene Stoffel. Shore Details will clean and prepare The Ice House for your arrival; provide towels and bed linens (and make the beds); stock the house with an initial supply of paper towels, toilet paper, dish detergent and trash bags to get you started. Shore Details is just a phone call away to take care of any problems or concerns during your stay, and also provides a great personal concierge service to help you plan and get the most out of your vacation!
