My husband and I had a terrific stay at the house! Of particular note: - Really liked the feeling of absolute privacy and seclusion of the house. Though neighboring houses were close by, the trees and foliage created a feeling of total privacy. - Beds = super comfortable. I'm 6 months preggers and this is a highly, highly critical thing for my general well-being! - Really like that the kitchen/dining/living/terrace are all one big connected space. We spend a lot of time cooking, eating, and lounging around on our vacations, and it's nice to be able to do all these things together. - Quality pots and pans! Swiss Diamond, no less. We use these at home and I'm so obsessed with them that I frequently bring them along on our trips (which is bulky and annoying), so this was quite a delight. - Love that the TV is NOT in the main living area. When you're surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a shame to spend all day/evening glued to the tube (which is what we often do if given the opportunity). We instead spent our evenings reading on the deck, lingering over meals, etc. - While we were just one couple, this house would be great for a share as one of the guest bedrooms/bathrooms is upstairs and thus very separate and private from the other bedroom.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed here on a beautiful weekend in early May and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, and looks exactly as it appears in the photos. The setting was secluded with no visible neighbors on the porch side of the house. The rooms were all comfortable and the house easily accomodated our group of 5 adults and 2 children (who appreciated the books and toys!). We didn't get to use the pool but it looks like it would be wonderful during the summer months. The only complaint was that the water pressure was pretty low, but that was a minor inconvenience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in this house for the second time now, and again it has been a wonderful experience both in regards to the renal process, and the stay. We were 4 adults and 3 young kids, and everybody had a great time. The kids room is awesome, with 2 child size beds, and toys. The layout is open and inviting, the absence of any decor very soothing, the wood burning stove heaven, and the beds comfy. Yes, the water pressure in one of the bathrooms is not great, but it's well water, and for us it was not an issue at all. We can't wait until we can come back in the summer and take advantage of the pool!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We found the house to be clean, well maintained, airy and comfortable. The open living room gets plenty of light. The owners were very accessible and helpful in responding to our questions. The property has a long private driveway making an ideal getaway for anyone who desires a peaceful and quiet surrounding. The local supermarket, which has everything you would need is minutes away at the town center. Mohonk Mountain House is about ten minutes away.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My friends and I rented this home to bring in the New Year. We had an absolutely amazing time and are so glad we chose this property over several others. Every part of the home was spectacular, clean, comfortable, and extremely accommodating. Each and every single one of us were in awe of the kitchen, and I strongly recommend renting the home for this sole purpose. Our only regret it that we were unable to use the pool, but we hope to return in a warmer month in order to be able to us that amenity.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed for a weekend trip with a few friends to climb at the Gunks, and had a great time at the house. Everything is just as described and displayed in the photos, and everything you could need is there--linens, cooking necessities (it's a fantastic kitchen), etc. The kitchen/dining/living room is perfect for cooking and hanging out, and the wood stove keeps the room quite warm. The other rooms also had individual thermostats (even the bathrooms) which made a big difference as it was very cold outside. We would definitely stay there again, and highly recommend it to others.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This was the best VRBO experience I've had. The house was clean, smelled nice, was very child-friendly (kids' beds, few low-lying doodads, doll house, games and books), and was beautiful to boot. The beds were comfortable, the sheets felt new (it's the little things!). The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking, and everything was comfortable and homey. When one of the lights wasn't working, the owner was available by phone to help us try to figure it out. Generally, communication with the owner was prompt and clear. I would definitely rent this house again!Recommended for: Families with young children.

A Great Girls Weekend

I organized a wine tour with my girlfriends and we had a great time staying in the house. Silvana was very responsive throughout the whole process with my many questions since I've never booked with VRBO before. It was a very easy experience. The house was about 15-20 mins outside of New Paltz. It had an open floor plan for the main rooms. Luckily, we all woke up and went to bed at the same time because voice carry in the house but there was no issue for us. There are 2 private bedrooms to close the doors for privacy but upstairs is all open, which again was not a problem for us and we actually liked it - like a big sleepover! The open kitchen, living room, dining room area was awesome. The kitchen had all the great amenities of a chef's kitchen and accommodated us as we made sandwiches, packed a cooler and cooked our dinners. We also loved the grill and deck to enjoy the nature around us. The house was very clean and well taken care of. Unfortunately it was too cold to go for a swim but I would have loved to under the trees while listening to the birds! Overall a great weekend and comfortable stay for our girls weekend. Thank you!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a great couples weekend - good location with quick access to Gunks climbing and plenty of other outdoor awesomeness. The house has a fantastic kitchen with all the trimmings (cooking is truly a pleasure in this kitchen). The beds are super comfy and the house is very cozy. Would love to come back in the winter and use the wood burning stove and curl up and enjoy the snow!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We love all the fun activities the great outdoors gives us. We hope you'll love our place as much as we do and ultimately make our house your vacation home.
Why the Owner Chose New Paltz:
My family and I have been vacationing in the New Paltz area for decades as rock climbers and great lovers of nature. Finally, when our daughter was born, we bought our home and have been enjoying it whenever we can escape our lives in New York City.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Location-wise, we love that our country house sits on a quiet cul-de-sac away from traffic, but also love having the convenience of local ice-cream shops, cafes and farm stands just a short bike ride away. We love cooking and the summer for us is all about grilling big meals and eating candlelight dinners on the deck with our friends and family. We love the pool, which is perfect for a refreshing dip, relaxing sunbathing and picnicking poolside.
