Thank you so much for being such a great host! We had a FABULOUS time in Charleston, so much so that I'm now thinking about buying my own vacation home there. We loved your home--it was so comfortable, clean, and well decorated, and it was just perfect for the 3 of us. We would often gather around the kitchen bar counter (esp. after a long day of sightseeing and eating!) to drink wine and just hang out. The couch was so comfortable--I fell asleep on it on several occasion! The location was also great. It was a very convenient base for all our adventures into the city as well as to the surrounding areas (Sullivan's Island, the plantations, etc.) All the details you shared in advance were super helpful. I really appreciate how wonderful you're to work with and how easy you made everything!

Just got back from staying here with my wife and three young kids. The condo is beautiful and spacious. It was immaculately clean and the location is perfect, just outside of the downtown area. We would usually drive into downtown (about 1.5km away) and park our car for the day. There are also some great restaurants around, including Martha Lou's which is a Charleston legend. We will definitely stay here if we are in the area again!

My in-laws, husband and I enjoyed 3 nights here and just had such a positive experience! Heather was friendly, informative and prompt with all her information we needed for our trip. "The Hampton Condo" is cozy and ideally located for people who don't need to stay in the heart of everything but still close to it all. We walked to the main drag in Charleston every day and explored all afternoon. At night, we called for a taxi to take us out to dinner. It was easy. We bought a few groceries so we could make coffee and breakfast at the condo, but otherwise we were out all day. So much to see and do in Charleston. I would highly recommend this place to stay!

i just spent two nights at The Hampton Condo and loved being there. It is quiet, clean, secure and well-decorated. Although I didn't cook, the kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed to create a good meal (why do that in charleston?) Heather was very helpful in working out my last-minute get-away. I would stay again with no questions. Driving into downtown Charleston for sight-seeing, dining, etc.took about 10 minutes depending on time of day. Hominy Grill is less than 1 mile, gas stations 1 mile or less. Private off-street parking. Don't be put off by the eclectic neighborhood.......it's the way of Charleston, except for the really old mansions in the historic district. Hope to stay here again sometime!!

Loved our stay at the Hampton Condo. The condo is a nice two bedroom one bath with updated appliances. All very clean and nicely decorated. Just as in the pictures. Location is a quiet street We enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the morning. Plan on ten minutes drive to popular waterfront and market st areas. We thought this was a good trade for the reasonable price. Plenty of parking for 7 dollars. Owner is very responsive and nice to deal with. I would highly recommend this condo for your stay. Enjoy. I recently made arrangements for a friend to stay in the condo (as part of a gift vacation to the PGA Championship); and so while I myself did not stay there (and therefore cannot comment on the accomodations per se -- though I heard only the best), I would like to just say what a pleasure it was dealing with the owner Heather, how helpful she was, and how grateful I am for her role in what proved to be a trip of a lifetime.

Owner response: Thanks David. It was great working with you too and like I said before, a really wonderful and thoughtful gift to give to your friends. Please come visit some day!

I just got back from Charleston and this was the second time I stayed at this condo. The first time I went with my husband and this time I went with 3 friends. The owner, Heather, is a big reason I retruned. She is very responsive and goes out of her way to make sure you feel at home. She even provides lists of things to do and places to eat. The description and pictures are accurate, it was clean and the decorations and quality of the appliances and furniture are better than I have in my own home. The condo is just off of upper King street. It is about a 2 mile walk to the heart of downtown Charleston. You can walk, drive, take the bus or it is a short walk to catch the free trolley. I found this location to be very convenient, quiet and would definitely recommend it. I would not have returned if this was not true. Thank you Heather.

We had a wonderful time staying at this condo. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. The condo was beautiful, clean, homey and comfortable as described in the listing. The condo was located in a residential area near Upper King Street and we found it helpful to have a car to get around. The off-street parking spot came in handy. We enjoyed our stay and will consider staying again.

My family (including 2 and 5 year old children) spent three nights in this accomodation in Oct 2011 and were very impressed. Heather was very easy and professional to deal with and the accomodation was of great quality - comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed having our breakfast out on the balcony each morning and walked to the downtown area (though it is a lengthy walk for small children!). We would certainly recommend this property. Heather even went above and beyond to locate and ship my husband jacket which was left behind - Thank you!!

I stayed with two friends midweek in October of this year (2011), and was really happy with this rental. The condo is laid out really well, a very comfortable space to move about in, generously sized, with a super comfortable couch great for lounging. I slept very well too, the beds, linens, etc were also very comfortable. I really liked the decor -- modern, interesting, very soothing and calm. I would love my own home to be so well decorated! The parking space was very convenient, and the location was good. It was a quick zip to everywhere we wanted to go (Sullivan's Island, the lower Charleston peninsula, a plantation). We also enjoyed The Hominy Grill, Mac and Murphy stationery shop, Sugar Bakeshop, which were all really close. Heather was very helpful in coordinating the reservation, providing useful information, being a friendly point of contact in Charleston. I recommend this home.

I had looked at many rentals in Charleston, and the main reason i picked this one is because Heather (the owner) actually reached out and contacted us! She is so great to talk with and has personality plus. I had called Heathe the week prior to the last Hurricane, and she said that if for any reason we could not or did not want to try to come she understands. WoW! When we arrived, the Condo was extremely clean, looked as if no one had been ther before us, that impressed me right away. Every room was that way!! We called her to let her know we were there, and immedately she wantd to know if there was something she could do to make our trip better. She had already given is places to eat and shop for neeeded foods amd etc... This is the first time we had stayed anyplace and felt like it was home and not a hotel room that is very inpresonal. The towels were great, everythng in the kitchen you need to ccok with, gourmet for sure. One of the best things were a washwer and dryer that was great and it actually worked!! The article says everything you need is there, that is what it means! Heather lived ther first and wantes it to feel loik a place you want to be when visiting. Getting to places and surrounding burbs could not have been easier.Five minutes to freeway and away you go. We had to leave a day earlier than expected and Notified Heather we were leaving, she thought something was wrong, no problems but had to get back to work earlier than expected! When we comeback to Charleston again, we will stay at this Cono! Hope it will be open?? ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU HEATHER BEEM FOR MAKING OUR STAY A GERAT ONE! Steven and Will Paris, KY USA

The condo was definitely in the right location with easy access to all the major sites around town. It certainly made our visit to Charleston much more enjoyable. The furnishings are comfortable, modern and stylish and made for a nice retreat after a long day in the Charleston sun. Having all the amenities of home made our visit much more pleasant than if we had booked a hotel room. Heather has put a lot of thought into the condo which is seen in the tasteful décor. We would recommend this condo to small families and couples alike.

We stayed at this apt. for 2 nights during our visit to Charleston and wished we could take it with us to our other destinations. It was perfect with all modern amenities. Large bedrooms, comfy beds, modern clean kitchen and relaxing living room. Very close to Historic Downtown. We rode our bikes everywhere. Excellent restaurant recommendations and if you have the time, we highly recommend Cypress Gardens. If we ever return to Charleston, this will be our place of choice to stay!!! Thank you Heather!

First of all, working with Heather is a delight. She is professtional, very friendly, and available to answser any questions you may have. The condo was very clean and tastefully decorated with contemporary southern charm and included everything you would need to make yourself at home there. The location is on the edge of the historic district, so some homes were newly refurbished and others aren't quite there yet. Nevertheless, the neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Plus, there is a beautiful park a couple of blocks away that is great for early morning jogs or walks. I also loved Heather's list of places to to eat and things to do. All of her suggestions we tried were great. So overall, this was a fantastic experience and would not hesitate to stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

My friends and I could not have been happier with our choice of rental while staying in Charleston. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality and incredible style of the furnishings. Heather has obviously thought of many conveniences a renter could need - from the brocures available to vacationers, to items like a hair dryer, pots and pans, washer and dryer, and even some cold beverages in the fridge. The off-street parking was incredibly helpful, as there was a festival going on nearby - and the drive downtown to East Bay Street was no more than a few minutes. Everything was clean, both beds were very comfortable, and the people-watching from the front porch was more entertaining than we could have imagined. At night, the neighborhood was quiet, and there was no point in which any of us felt unsafe. Not only would I stay here again, but my friends and I all agreed that we would recommend this rental to all family/friends that are planning a trip to Charleston who want to stay as close to the shops, restaurants, and attractions of downtown Charleston as possible without all the noise of the rowdy, late-night bar-goers.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Wow Lisa! Thank you! I appreciate all your kind words. I know it was a quick trip for you and your friends to Charleston but it sounds like you made the most of it! I hope the next time you are able to stay for a bit longer! I know the Greek Fest creates quite a lot of excitment on the street! Glad you were entertained by all the festivities and got a taste for true Charleston living! You and your girlfriends are welcome back anytime!

My title sums up our great experience in this condo. Everything is new and fresh and the owner has provided all the amenities that make the place feel like home. We loved sitting on the veranda for both breakfast and late night dining and watching life in the neighborhood. Great to have our own secure parking spot. The location is very convenient for driving around Charleston, either a short trip to the restaurants and shops of central Charleston or a couple of blocks to access the main highway that will take you anywhere in the low country. Probably most important is the owner Heather seems to really care that you have a good time in her town. This translates in to the care taken to furnish the condo, the tips and advice she provides, and although we didn't have any problems I'm confident Heather would have done her best to help if any arose.

There is no better feeling when you are away from home, than to feel just like you are "at home"! That is the feeling my family and I had while staying in Heather's home in Charleston over our recent spring break. Heather made EVERYTHING so easy for us! From the word "go" she was on top of things...I have never had such an easy time securing a vacation home. Directions and check in information were clear and easy to understand. The home was exactly as advertised, and even exceeded our expectations on several levels. Clean, neat, comfortable beds and furniture, wonderful kitchen to cook and eat in (everything you need to cook with as well), great porch to kick back and relax on after a day of walking around Charleston, and most importantly a place that felt like home! Heather was extremely attentive to any needs we had...great restaurant recommendations & wonderful ideas for places to visit with our children (ages 11 & 13). I also loved the fact that there is a great washer & dryer, it was wonderful going home after a weeks vacation with no dirty clothes! Thank you Heather for making our first visit to Charleston one to remember...and a place we are sure to return to in the near future! Amy & Family

My wife and I stayed here in mid-April of 2011 and were blown away with how nice this rental was. We've used VRBO a handful of times and have had great luck with it, but Heather's unit takes the cake. The unit is immaculate (recently renovated) and has all of the features of home. Instead of feeling like a rental property, it felt like we were staying at someone's house. It even felt a bit luxurious. The bed in the master is incredibly comfy and it was nice to have a walk-in closet with enough clothes hangers for our clothes. The attached balcony off the master (and family room) was a great place to relax and watch life go by. Just for a frame of reference: we spent 4 days at the Westin in Atlanta immediately before coming to Charleston. The Westin cost us more per night and offered a room that was slightly bigger than the master bedroom of this unit. The Westin is a "luxury" hotel and we felt more luxury in this rental than at the Westin. The Westin didn't have a full kitchen with a full-sized washer and dryer. The Westin didn't have a wonderful balcony, and was no where close on the square footage available. The Westin wasn't at all luxurious compared to this rental unit. Heather truly thought of everything. The decor is fantastic. There was a little stereo system that we could plug our iPod into. There were some cards and games for my wife and I to play, There was some tourism material telling us where to go and what to do. There was a French press for my wife to make coffee with. I could go on and on. We loved the location too. It was about a 3 minute drive from the lower peninsula and was in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Getting to the beach was quite easy from here, and the Hominy Grill around the corner was fantastic breakfast. Don't worry about parking in Charleston - there are plenty of public garages, and the parking's cheap! $2 for the first hour, $1 each additional hour. As if having an immaculate rental property weren't enough, Heather was very quick to answer emails and gave us some great suggestions on where to eat and catch some good live music. The next time we go to Charleston, we're staying here. This is by far the best rental unit that we've stayed at, period!

Owner response: Randy and wife, I can't say enough how much I enjoyed hosting you in my home! So glad you loved your experience and I truly appreciate the wonderful review you have left me and for future renters to view! I hope you do make it back to Charleston soon. I look forward to hosting you at my home again! Cheers, Heather Beem

This review is long overdue, but I want to offer my endorsement of this lovely condo! It is newly renovated -- and beautifully so -- and has all the amenities you need to feel right at home! Heather is a delight to work with -- very responsive, and she offers wonderful recommendations, from getting around to where to eat, etc. I definitely recommend spending time in nearby Hampton Park. It's a perfect spot to kick back and read a book. The highly recommended Hominy Grill is within walking distance and has delicious traditional southern fare. Also, the pizza place just around the corner from the condo is fantastic! Though the neighborhood is a bit off the beaten path (about a mile north of downtown Charleston), my husband and I walked EVERYWHERE and did not feel unsafe.

Owner response: Hi Janae, Thank you so much for your review! It means a lot considering you and your husband were my very first VRBO guests! It definitely sounded like you got the most out of Charleston, enjoying it as the locals quit often do....by foot! Thanks so much for your stay and please come back again soon!
