We had a little issue with the security alarm because we had had been schedule to arrive the day after, but it was quickly resolved with call to Dave. Other than that we had a great time. The bathroom was amazing. It was nice to come back and soak in the tub after skiing all day. The place was really clean. All the convenience of modern living contrasting with the old miner's shack theme produces a most appealing atmosphere in this property. My wife and I LOVE to get away when we can. Since that's so infrequent, we are pretty picky about where we go. When we saw an ad for this cozy cabin up Big Cottonwood Canyon, took a look at the pics, we jumped on it. We were a 5 minute walk and 30 sec drive from some of the most incredible skiing in the world. This is a little paradise at the end of the road. "Dave" met us upon check-in, and could not have made us feel more at home. We felt like the red carpet was being rolled out for us. We LOVE watching movies and no expense has been spared in providing HD/Direct TV access in the large living room/theatre room, bedroom, and yes, in the bathroom. (Just don't drop the remote in the tub!). Bed was comfortable and the bathroom is just a hoot. Beautifully and cleverly designed. Not sure I've ever seen one like it. Dry Sauna was great. Despite the outside temperatures being 10-15 degrees. The temperature remained just as we like it. I'm buying that "Nest" thermostat today for our place. Amazing. Surrounded by snow, it helped having 4 wheel drive, but we had three days of no phones, no emails, and no noise. I have to rate our stay a solid "10." I hope to return in the spring and hike Silver Lake, because I know the Moose will be out. So glad we found this hideaway. We're hooked. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. About the owner: We are parents of 6 kids. David is a professional mediator and Pam is a Realtor and homemaker. David is a country boy and Pam is a city girl. So this is the compromise, Live in the city but have a cabin 20 minutes away!
Why the Owner Chose Brighton:
Brighton simply is know as one of the two best places for quality snow in Utah. (the other is Powder Mountain). Our children are avid snowboarders (one is an instructor at Brighton) and so when this cabin came of for sale, it was a dream come true to be able to buy it!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This cabin has the best of all worlds. Not only is it one of the most luxurious (which it better be after a 300k face lift) it is right on the main road which means to skiers no need to rent a w wheel drive. Only a handful of ski in ski out cabins can boast this and none nicer than this one!
