We just returned from a few days at the Tomcat Guest House. What a wonderful stay we had! The house has beautiful views all the way around... sunrise and sunset! The living area is spacious, the kitchen/dining area met our needs perfectly, and the bedrooms were great. We enjoyed hiking/snowshoeing around the property. And the hot springs were only a short drive away! Mike and Holly are friendly, helpful and very gracious. We are already planning our next trip to BV!

What a perfect place to enjoy the onset of autumn; relaxing, enjoying the views, exploring some amazing property, and ending each day with a great fire! We made our trip from Denver on October 14th for a quick trip. Mike and Holly were the most gracious hosts, going out of their way to make our stay more special. The resident pups, Ben and Sadie also welcomed us and bonded with us and our dogs immediately. The house was very comfortable and well-maintained, and we had everything we needed for our stay. The property is truly amazing... I'm so glad we found this gem that we can share with family and friends and visit often! The only negative was that our trip wasn't long enough. We can't wait for snowshoeing in the winter. Thanks Mike and Holly - J&T&L&L

This was a great place to get away from it all with the conveniences of home. We were able to enjoy all of our kids and grandkids together. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the lakes (fishing and feeding the fish). The location was remote enough so we were not bothered by our cell phones but were close enough to obtain cell service if we needed to. The mountain views were great and we enjoyed the enclosed yard area with covered lounge area and the fire pit where we were able to have enjoyable bonfire with smores. This beautifully sited home provided a wonderfully relaxing vacation getaway that we will consider taking advantage of again in the future.

A simple yet comfortable mountain retreat full of delights. It was more than a rental home, it was a private mountain playground. Your own lakes, fire pit, fishing access, canoeing, hiking, and the most amazing view from the dining room table to watch the sunset over the mountains. Not to mention the mining relic art that sets a playful western atmosphere. Good stuff!

We loved this place! It was beautiful and serene -- everything an autumn vacation in Colorado should be. We enjoyed the easy access to hiking, fishing, relaxing, shopping, and sightseeing. Holly and Mike made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed exploring their lovely 300 acre ranch. We highly recommend this getaway to others.

Our family stayed for three weeks at the Tomcat Ranch guest house. Our hosts, Mike and Holly, have made this retreat something truly special. We had everything we needed for a perfect vacation and Mike kept us amply supplied with firewood. We have stayed many places over the years and the beauty and tranquility found here is unsurpassed. Mike and Holly were helpful but not intrusive. We definitely will be back again.

Wow! The Tomcat Ranch Guest House and surrounding 300 acres were simply an amazing retreat for our family. Peace and tranquility, privacy and respite are all in abundance here. We felt so welcome, and so engaged by the host family. We must have done something right to have found this wonderful treasure to call a home away from home for a few days.

Five of us wanted to visit the Buena Vista area for a quiet get-a-way and to ride the trails on ATV's. We found the Tomcat Ranch and thought it looked like it would fit our needs. We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The view was fantastic and the privacy was perfect. We enjoyed exploring the ranch and the National forest which it adjoins. Bonnie and Mike were great hosts for our stay in the mountains. We would truly recommend this property to others.

Three of my adult children, my husband and I just returned from a stay at Tomcat Ranch. We really enjoyed our stay. As others have said, Holly and Mike are gracious hosts- looking out for us but not intrusive. The property was perfect for our family because we could easily access outdoor activities in an area that is not at all touristy.

We just returned from a week at Tomcat Ranch. This was our first summer trip to Colorado and we couldn't have picked a better place! Our family of six had a great time filled with hiking, biking, rafting and ATV riding. Holly and Mike were the best at giving us wonderful suggestions on things to do. Our next summer vacation in Colorado will include another stay at Tomcat Ranch guest house!

This house is great, the views were beautiful from all areas in the home. It was very clean, peaceful and extremely accommodating for all our guests. (7 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs.) There is miles and miles of endless property to explore by foot, four-wheeler, and bicycle. I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a relaxing and quiet place to stay in Buena Vista. Mike and Holly were exceptional hosts as well!

We have been returning to Tomcat for a few years now and we love it. Mike and Holly are exceptional hosts. We love the peace and quiet, the beautiful house (it's truly amazing), as well as the chance to visit BV, Leadville, and the surrounding hiking and fishing areas. Luci (our dog) loves it, too. We've used it for family retreats as well as weekend getaways. It's definitely a home away from home. We'll be back!

A group of friends - the OWLS - and I stayed at Tomcat for the Buena Vista Bike Festival and loved it. We've been there before and will be back again. Even though the weather wasn't very cooperative the morning of the ride, we had a great time relaxing, chatting, and hiking. Mike and Holly are exceptional hosts and a big part of the reason we so enjoy going back. You have to take a tour of the main house while you are there, so ask! You have to see it to believe it. The valley itself is breathtaking and there is lots of fishing, biking, and trails in the area. Golf, too. Thanks again for such an excellent stay!

We had a reservation to stay at the Tomcat Ranch for my son's R&R from his deployment in Iraq. Due to complications post surgery we were unable to keep our reservation. Mike and Holly could not have been more kind or understanding to our problem. My family is looking forward to spending our future vacation at the ranch and meeting their family. Thanks Mike & Holly, hope to visit soon!! The Rambo Family

Buena Vista is a favorite vacation spot, which we've enjoyed coming to for years. Tomcat Ranch made our latest vacation even better. From the guest house ranch, you're surrounded by beautiful views; Sunrise, sunset, stars and Milky Way, wildlife, mountains in every direction. Tomcat Ranch is a sprawling area with forests on rising terrain, ponds and streams, meadow. We wandered for hours on the trails of the ranch, in the mornings and evenings. We had it all to ourselves. It's like having your own private National Forest. Mike and Holly made us feel like the guest house was ours for the duration. They made sure we were happy with the accommodations, yet gave us privacy you'll never get in any hotel. The guest house is secluded and quiet. At night, we watched the stars from the front porch, and felt like we were miles from civilization; no city lights, no noise. Yet it was a short drive to Buena Vista for dining and supplies, and very well located for accessing all the wonderful hiking and climbing in the area. The guest house is well appointed, comfortable and clean. Mike and Holly have done a great job of maintaining the house. It was as if we moved into someone's home. We could have stayed for months and been very happy. We would book the guest house again for a family vacation, and recommend it without hesitation. Thanks Mike and Holly for a wonderful visit.

We wanted a beautiful outdoor spot for a family memorial, combined with a reunion. The Tomcat Ranch fit the bill! Mike and Holly were so willing to let us use their gorgeous property in ways that suited our special needs. We had a meaningful service and picnic at the lakeside log cabin. Could not have asked for a more personalized stay!

Mike and Holly went out of their way to make our stay one of a kind. After realizing there was so much to do at the ranch, we canceled some of our day trips and spent the days hiking trails and enjoying the countryside. With 1,514 pictures, and a couple of sunburns, we have a lot to remind us of our trip. Making great friends along the was the icing on the cake. We recommend the Tom Cat Ranch for anyone with a will to hike and a sense of adventure. +++++

We have stayed at the Guest House several times and each time it was fantastic! It's a terrific combination of seclusion and great views but nonethess very accessible from Buena Vista. And Mike and Holly are the perfect hosts. We're building a home in the valley and already have booked three weeks at the Guest House in 2008!

This was our family's first visit to Colorado and we had the BEST time. A huge part of that was Tomcat Ranch. Given the large array of accomodations to choose from, we really felt like we hit the jackpot. The property is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and there were so many things for the boys to do. They especially had fun fishing -- all three of them caught something!

The trout fishing is superb......The location of the Ranch is ideal for day trips. All in all the Tomcat Ranch and particularly the Blitsteins, including their three wonderful children and three dogs made our stay more than wonderful. Go and enjoy!

Mike and Holly were wonderful hosts. We borrowed their fishing rods and my kids caught a dozen trout in their private pond -- the highlight of their trip. Secluded but with all the comforts of home including a fireplace (Mike has a lot of firewood, we used the fireplace daily). Close to a lot of attractions. Really enjoyed our week.
