This beautiful, cozy home has 2+ bedrooms and 1.5 baths along with a stand-alone detached room in the backyard. This pet friendly home boasts a beautiful manicured yard with 2 large orchard size orange trees, hot tub, outdoor shower. This California Cottage is typical Santa Barbara with white stucco and red roof tiles, beautiful oak floors and a great fireplace. The house is comfortably furnished including high quality linens and towels.
We are within walking distance to State Street and all the downtown shops (9 blocks or ~0.9 miles) and easy nearby access to the beach - only ~1 mile depending on what beach you'd like to enjoy.
The house can sleep 6 including the queen size convertible bed in the living room, but can sleep up to 8 including the detached room. One bedroom has a king size bed, the other a a queen size bed. The living room has a nice queen size convertible bed with memory foam.
The house has a large backyard lawn with a free-standing hammock for you to enjoy the gorgeous Santa Barbara days. You can eat breakfast and drink fresh squeezed orange juice from our orange trees while sitting on our redwood deck that receives perfect morning sun or have wonderful family dinners outside in the backyard. We also have a full front porch which gets great evening sun so you can sit back, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the world go by. We also have a great hot tub that you can enjoy while you sip some great local Santa Barbara wine and gaze at the moon or beautiful SB sunsets. Included also is a brand new gas grill at your disposal. You can also enjoy a rinse after hitting the beach with our outdoor shower!
We also have a ping pong table, badminton, croquet and horse shoes to pass the the time.
You will have never ending hot water no matter how many baths or showers you take. We have a front loading washer/dryer at your fingertips that is connected to a greywater system so that all your laundry water helps to water and keep the backyard beautiful. There is a built-in reverse osmosis system that has great tasting water, so you won't ever have to worry about having bottled water handy during your stay.
We also have a small stand-alone detached room (approx. 150 sq ft) that has a full size convertible bed that can sleep 2 as well, however, you will have to come inside the house for bathroom access from this room.
We have a full kitchen with newer stainless steel appliances including a citrus juicer. We also have a 40 inch flatscreen TV in the living room and a 32 inch flatscreen in one of the bedrooms. We also have wireless internet available throughout the property and a portable iPod dock for you to enjoy your favorite music whether indoors or out.
We are pet-friendly to well behaved dogs. Having 2 wonderful dogs that we enjoy traveling with ourselves, we know that it is important to find a place that is nice and accomodating to dogs. We have a dog door leading to the backyard which is fully fenced and we are within 0.5 miles of 3 off-leash open space parks including the beach, a park overlooking the ocean and one with amazing ocean and mountain views.

We rented this lovely home for the weekend. Great location, very close to State street and was the ideal situation for us. The house was amazing and a huge plus was the nice backyard. All of the beds were extremely comfortable. The property was both very clean and well kept. Shruti was very accommodating and let us check in early the day of because one of our guests arrived earlier than the rest of us. I rented this place for a girls' weekend trip. It was quite lovely, clean, just as described. It was a 20 minute or $7 cab ride to downtown. Quiet neighborhood. The place was very neat and clean. Large backyard and all necessary appliances. The owners were very responsive and timely. They were very helpful and available any time I contacted them with questions, Very understanding, cordial and professional. The rate for this place was pretty reasonable. Will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We live in Santa Barbara, and needed a place to stay for 3 months, while our house was under construction. I feel very fortunate to have found this place! It is well-tended, well-appointed,and nicely decorated, with special artistic touches. The landscaping is very special. The photos and descriptions give an accurate impression of this home. I would go beyond this in the following ways: There are 2 very inviting seating areas which are great for conversation - one in the living room, and the other around the picnic table on the deck in the back yard. There is a lot of cheerful morning sunlight inside and outside the house. The detached unit is a really nice room - well-built, with a very nice feel to it. The house is located in a great neighborhood with interesting houses and well-kept landscaping all around. It is a great location. You can get just about anywhere in 5 minutes by car. (The downtown area of Santa Barbara is a bit far for walking but really easy and quick to get to by car.) The owner is really nice and very helpful. I had some special needs, and she was very attentive and supportive in helping me find what I needed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just wanted to send you a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay in your house. We loved the colors that you chose for each room and all of the textures with the stones, tiles and wood. This very clean home delivers everything as advertised! Location is very convenient, neighborhood quiet and plenty of parking. The horseshoes, ping pong table and badminton made our stay here even more enjoyable! Owners are very responsive and were happy to answer any of our questions. There were plenty of linens and towels and the kitchen was fully equipped. We used this house as a home base for our son's wedding. It easily accommodated our family and had plenty of room to entertain the wedding party. Highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Well furnished & clean. Nice location in between beach and State Street but house is too far away to walk to either. Finding parking at beach and State St. was not a problem so driving there was fine. Great yard for dogs! Well maintained. Nice hammock and green grass. We spent 9 glorious days in this house. Perfect location, fully equipped with everything we needed. The yard was a dream, the front garden a delight. And the extras like the shower outside, the hot tub and the extra room - we called it the cabana - were a real treat. And the decor inside just made us feel like we were at the beach. We had fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning and a comfy bed at night. We would go back here in a heartbeat. This house was perfect for our family of 5 to get together in CA. We came from the east coast to visit our grown children. My daughter and her husband enjoyed their private time in the "honeymoon suite", as they called the outside building, while my husband and I and our son enjoyed the comforts of the inside bedrooms. It was a lovely home, nicely decorated. We especially liked the outside yard and orange trees. Fresh squeezed oj in the morning is a delight! The hot tub was also a pleasure. The yard is beautifully landscaped and the house is in a good quiet location- a short drive to State St., downtown and the beach. It is a reasonably priced rental for Santa Barbara, that I would highly recommend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. It had everything we needed including comfy beds, a nice kitchen, washer/dryer and a nicely tiled bathroom. The highlight though is the beautiful garden which is private , lush, and includes a hot tub and two orange trees that provided us with fresh orange juice during our stay. The location is great, a nice neighborhood with a corner market walking distance, and close to downtown.The paint colors in the house are soothing and pleasant. About the owner: We are long time Santa Barbara residents who absolutely love living in Santa Barbara and truly make the most of living here. Tim grew up in Santa Barbara surfing at all the great local surf spots that the Central Coast has to offer. Shruti moved here to attend UCSB and never wants to move again! Together, we enjoy spending time with our 2 beautiful kids and our wonderful friends. We love drinking local wines, eating at our great restaurants, hiking the local mountains and spending time at the beach...what a life!
