Paciano apartment description
LAGOVISTA LOFT is located in the medieval hilltown of Paciano located on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. The loft space had never been occupied until 2011/2012 when we purchased it and renovated it from top to bottom including cleaning and renovating a stone wall over 800 years old!! We retained the charm while bringing all the amenties we appreciate today. Underfloor heating beneath the stone floor, a fabulous kitchen with all the amenities (chestnut custom cabinets, granite countertops, dishwasher, local ceramic dishes and serving pieces). We retained the open space with soaring ceilings, industrial fans, indirect lighting and a huge armadio dividing the space allowing some privacy in the bedroom. There is a separate laundry room with cabinetry and bathroom with glassed-in shower and all new fixtures and tile.. No expense has been spared - even double paned windows throughout. It was designed for a couple wanting privacy and luxury. It is adjacent to Casa Lagovista which is VRBO 417801 which allows two couples to travel together if they wish..

Magical experience in Umbria
Magical experience in Umbria
Staying at the Loft in Paciano was truly an experience of a lifetime. The loft itself is gorgeous - modern with every convenience and completely outfitted, no detail is left out. It was just like being in a good friend's home. But the real experience is the village and area. Paciano is a medieval walled village - truly the walls were built in the 1300's. It is like stepping back in time. The property manager was lovely and made all the arrangements for us which made the trip so easy. And the people are so welcoming and friendly. Steps away is great cappuccino or lemon cello - you might even dance the night away with locals. There are three outstanding restaurants in the village with incredible food to enjoy. It is only six miles to the train station, so it is easy to get to Florence or Rome or other large cities if that is your wish. We rented a car and spent a week travelling to villages all over Umbria and into Tuscany. We found great shopping, great food, beautiful scenery and it was all so relaxed. When you combine the outstanding accommodations with a countryside of unrivaled beauty along with friendly locals - it really is a wonderful vacation. I hope to visit again and am telling all my friends that it is a spot not to be missed.

Lagovista Loft feels like home the moment you walk into it. It provides everything you could possibly need for a vacation stay, but has a level of sophistication that makes you feel like you are in a very high-end accommodation. It is extremely clean and well-equipped, and a wonderful spot to end the day! Paciano has very good restaurants that are within walking distance and the bar/café downstairs is perfect for morning coffee and breakfast. The laid-back feel of the village really makes for a friendly place to stay. We have visited Paciano before and agree that it is perfectly located for travel anywhere throughout Umbria and Tuscany. We have taken many day trips to surrounding towns by car, but have also enjoyed taking the train to Florence and Siena. There is hardly enough time in one trip to visit all the sights but having such a comfortable home base makes all the difference. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to coming back again.

We so enjoyed our relaxing stay in Paciano!! The Loft is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with every possible need anticipated. The Loft has a very European feel but much unlike many other properties, the Loft is spacious and had every amenity we are accustomed to having. The linens were first class, plentiful and beautifully presented. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. The needs of the visitor have been very well thought out and implemented. The restaurants in Paciano were very close and provided awesome food and beverages. The local grocery store has everything you need for your stay. The local piazza is the place to sit back, sip your favorite beverage and meet the locals. If you are lucky, you will get to meet Archie the resident Bengal cat ! We chose not to get a car so the property manager arranged for transportation to / from the airport and assisted with local travel during our stay. We took the train from Chuisi to Florence for easy day trip. The property manger arranged for a guide to meet us at the train station and take us on a lovely walking tour of Florence. We spent another day in Assissi where again, the property manager graciously arranged a guided tour with one of the local Friars. Overall, this was one of the most relaxing and unique trips we have taken and we hope to return again soon.

This sophisticated loft in historic Paciano was the perfect jumping off place for a relaxing and facinating immersion into the Umbrian Hill Towns. We did lots of research into various small towns, local culture, cusine and festivals. We were able to attend a jazz festival, chocolate and chestnut festivals, a cheese factory, an old glass factory, and eat, eat, eat. The local food is wonderful and so simple. On the days we just wanted to chill, we could have cappucinos and pastries in Paciano's square or walk to one of the great local resturants. The loft is extremely comfortable, and as well equiped as the best of B&B's and the best we have ever had in Italy. Now we want to come back for the olive picking and the bread and olive oil contest in Paciano. It is just a delightful experience we hope to repeat.

We were fortunate to spend 10 perfect days in October in Paciano. Lagovista Loft is so sophisticated yet totally comfortable. It is inside the historic walls of delightful Paciano. The little grocery supplied the few items we needed and the cafe was perfect for morning cappuccinos. This is a perfect jumping off place for enjoying the hilltops towns of Umbria and even southern Tuscany. We avoided large towns and cities, but next time will probably enjoy day trips to Florence and Sienna. Lagovista Loft is such a cool space. We felt right at home, since every need has been anticipated by our gracious hosts. Kerry and Cordell have provided all the basics and then more. There are lovely dishes, linens, cookware and appliances. After staying in Lucca in a very pleasant apartment with not even extra toilet paper provided, we really noticed the extra amenities here. Having the clothes washer is so handy. The loft manager is available to arrange day trips, suggest local attractions and even be your guide to some places or take you to the train station for a trip into Florence or Rome. Resturants in Paciano are really good and there many recommendations for nearby towns. We definitely plan to return. Thank you for all the thoughtful preparation.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful loft
Wonderful stay in a beautiful loft
We so enjoyed our stay in this lovely loft. It was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The view from the bedroom window was picturesque. The little market in the square provided our culinary needs and the restaurants were very good. So many things to see and do and I love that it is centrally located so we were able to visit some very charming towns near Paciano. I was also pleased the train station was so close, I was able to visit Florence for the day! I have told all my friends and family about my stay. Thank you Kerry for such a memorable vacation!

About the owner: We've been travelling to Italy since l990 and fell in love with Paciano. We purchased Casa Lagovista in 2006 and totally renovated it and when Lagovista Loft became available we couldn't resist. Now both apartments occupy the whole top floor and have a private staircase, making it work wonderfully for two couples or a family. We are both real estate brokers living in Oklahoma City and consider Paciano our second home. We have rented all over Italy but never found a town as enchanting as this one and also one with all the services we wanted but no tour buses !
Why the Owner Chose Paciano:
We had seen this property prior to buying the one next door but it was not for sale at that time. When we did see it that first time, we just looked at each other and knew that we could make it fabulous. We had forgotten about it until the former owner called us having heard that we loved and asked if we wanted to buy it. She had been planning on using it as a photography studio as it was completely unfinished but at the last minutes decided against it. Thankfully she called us first and we grabbed it up. When you see the photos, you will understand why
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We think that when we saw the stone wall that was 800 years old and covered with bits of cement and lots and lots of dirt we could see what this space could be. Rather than conventional walls, the character that is inherent this space was facinating to us. When a friend of ours came in and said 'this wall tells a story of the history of the place' we knew we had done the right thing
